I just got my red card in the mail yesterday and I'm so glad!! The wait time has been cut in half. I sent my papers with a money order on June 20 and my card was issued October 19. They are making progress!!

they obviously aren't processing these in order. wtf?
my renewal went in in May.
i agree with copobo. they received my renewal paperwork the first week of May and still have nothing. If the whole 8-9 month wait is still in effect, then i wont see anything til November or December. and all for a cheap ass piece of paper.... good job CO Health Dept.
That's F'd up guys!! Does it matter if you send a money order or check? I just got here to Colorado in May and I wasn't expecting it til January. Hopefully you get your red cards soon. I heard some cops are starting to question paperwork but it's hard to argue when you have the red card on you.
They are prioritizing denials right now, and there are a lot with the new restrictions SB109 put into place. It's the area where they have the most to lose with potential lawsuits. The good thing is cards are still being dated a year from issue, so they can take all the time they want.
Just wanted to update... have a patient who submitted on Oct 1st and received their card on Nov 2nd. MMRA # in the 27,000's.
Looks like they will be fully caught up soon. If you're still waiting, contact them!
my renewal just came. almost 8 months.
my renewal also came in the mail yesterday. card number is in the low 95K.
The state's website now states that cards are processed in 2 months. They are also actually processing changes and replacements now, supposedly within 10 months. http://www.cdphe.state.co.us/hs/medi...0my%20card.pdf
Sent mine in Oct 26, so I am interested to see when it arrives. Exciting that I may have it before the beginning of 2011.
My renewal took just over 2 months (I didn't check mail very often though as I was expecting it for another 4 months!)
just got mine today. sent in oct 26, rcvd nov 27. 31 days.

Nice. I'm sending in a renewal this week.
Should I use the same doctor for my renewal or does it matter?
He is currently listed as active, I went to one of those large clinics in denver.
I was talking to the health dept the other day and they indicated that they are caught up on the backlog and should be processing before the 35 days.Quote:

The post office won't forward the cards. They go back to the registry and sit in a stack until the patient calls in to find out the story.
Call them and you will have your card in a week.
