Floro cabinet grow in week 5
were at 28 inches now hairs are starting to form on every branch... i havent watered yet this week, the soil is about dry enough to water but i think im gonna let her dry out pretty good and water on saturday without nutes. as there is no real marijuana schedule for miracle grow, ive decided to skip the feeding this week as i havent yet watered them and the soil has nutes already. i think with the lighting change she is drinking less. is this normal? the soil around the edges is dry to about 5 inches down but i can tell the soil near the center is still moist.
the bottom foliage has started to trim itself, it may not be getting enough light. i may need to add a cfl or two near the bottom. although it may not be as big of an issue as i think. for the next grow the whole cabinet will be repainted white i didnt forsee that the plant would get this big. I'd rather not paint it at this stage.
anyways here is a few more pics aprox 6 weeks from harvest and i cant wait.

The amount they drink can vary over the life of the plant and temperature is also a factor in how much they drink (on a hot day my plants can drink 20-30% more). I started logging the amounts of water my plants drink each day at the start of flowering week 2 (before I just made a weekly note). I don't recall a drop in consumption when I switched the lights to 12/12 but I wouldn't be to concerned if I were you. I did notice a big increase in water consumption at week 3 of flower on both my grows, but this may be due to Cannaboost which is a food additive that increases the photosynthesis rate of plants (I started adding it at week 3).

Adding light at the bottom is a good thing to do. If the bottom buds don't get enough light they mature very slowly and end up being really small (called popcorn buds). This is the reason people prune away the lower branches during veg, it means the plant can focus it's energy on the main cola and secondary buds.

Just a thought, how about painting some cardboard white and taping it to the sides of the unpainted areas of your cabinet?
----------------
Looking at the latest pics, have you had to remove the shelf the plants were on to give you more headroom? Those side lights were perfectly placed before, now a lot of the light they are giving out is wasted. Can you move them lower?

Yes, i have removed the lower shelf to add more headroom. Yeah i have to get some extention cords as the lights of the left side of the cabinet do not have a long enough cord to reach lower. I had planned on it but had a death in the faimly this week so ive been preoccupied with that.
im planning on doing a little shopping today. i'll look for some white cardboard while im out.its mostly the larger fan leaves at the very bottom that have been affected.

ok so i lowered the T8 15w tubes... heres a few pics. as i said b4 all the leaves under the canopy started looking pretty sad. on a side note happened across some lemony sativa today and while i normally prefer the indica strains this stuff tastes awesome and the high is very clean! super lemon haze in now on my future grow wishlist.

So i fed a half dosage of the bloom nutes today 3/4 of a gallon as i have been since i started the 5 gal buckets. i have found at 3/4 i do not have so much run off. as stated b4 i skipped the mid week watering cause the soil was still damp around 5 inches or so down.
i didnt add any type of gravel for drainage at the bottom that mistake will never happen again. i was thinking maybe lava rocks? suggestions always appreciated.
She looked a little depressed today. i may have went a day or two too long without water. also i had a temp spike up to 87 degrees. i really felt like i needed to let the soil dry out more than normal. i think i have a fear of ruining her at this point. Also moving my T8s down has seemed to have made the undergrowth have a bit of a comeback.
here are some pics as always.:D

Use Imgur dot com for your photo needs--it's a free service, and you can link into nice huge images, if ya want.
For the drainage thing, yeah, lavarocks can work... or pre-sift some Perlite, and use a layer of the coarse stuff at the bottom.
For watering, if you're in soil, the easiest test is to pick the plant up. IF you can do this easily (it is way too 'light'), it is time to water. Soak it, then let it dry again. I've noticed that my plants seem to go thru a mini-growth-spurt every time they get ready for water/food.
And yes, 87f is too warm, but as long as you have lots of air movement, it shouldn't hurt 'em that much. Over 90 can be dangerous. Worst Thing Ever is when you let 'em get dry, then cook 'em. That really hurts.

ya my cool mist humidifier ran out of water, normally it doesn't get above 82, i guess it was just a freak occurance. I may have went a day too long for water, i think i was being too cautious. anyways I'll have some more pictures of her later on tonight after i wake that bioch up... idk whos more work my girlfriend or my plant. ... hmm, at least the plant doesn't talk back :D !
oh yeah and Beat LA!

ok so i think the bud production slowly starting to ramp up, and i have to say honestly i was a little scared looking at other pic of plants after thier second week of flower. Some opinions on how the buds look would be appreciated.
Ok so i may be running into a problem here that i kinda already knew about... I have approx 11 inches left for upward growth. minus the lighting leaves me about 8 inches. every day im moving the light up a little more. SO with the alloted space left will I have enough? if not what the heck should i do? I've never had a plant this big before so im really in the dark on the personal expierience of having her in this stage.
some more pics as promised.

ok so heres some more of the forming buds.

Watered today just poland springs no nutes... she drank just about 2 and a half gallons with only 14 ounces of run off. she was a thirsty one. the verical growth seems to have slowed some she seems to be looking fuller as the days progress.
more pics sorry for the ones out of focus.

so i didn't go too crazy with it just wanted to start the bend today. I'm being forced into this cause of my own doing... i obviously waited too long for flowering now i get to play around with this. prolly should have started LST way earlier but im gonna take it slow as not to stress the plant out too much. input on keeping my main shoot down would be appreciated and taken into consideration. mind you im mid week 3 of flower and haven't a clue as to what i can do other than this to control the over all growth of the main stem.
anyways here are some pics

so heres some pics.. fed today full strength bloom nutes 1 1/2 gallons til run off. the buds are forming at an increased rate. a couple of the fan leaves seem to have some ozone damage? i went out today and forgot to leave the AC on. it was at 81 when i got home but had a spike to 89 today... i was gone for 5 hours. it may be an Mg problem or it could just be a little pissed that i bent it over... the main stem still wants to grow up im gonna tie it down at a higher point tommorow. either way you can see it on the pics if you look close at the fan leaves.
