Well i'm a teenager and i've been friends with someone for probably 8 years who is now 21. Not only was he my friend but he and his mom lived in the same condo building as my family. He had gotten kicked out of the house a few times and there were the very few times it was the moms lack of reasoning but 90% of the time it was his fault. Yes he was into hard drugs, like rachel, and did a lot of stupid things and took lots of stuff (such as cars and college) for granted. His mom just used to get fed up with his bullshit and kicked him out a few times. AND LET ME TELL YOU, IT WAS BEST FOR HIM. He's not 100% straight now, but from all his experiences he has gotten some shit together and his life is back on track. At the time he hated his mom and said things like 'I am going to slit her throat' but i'm sure if I asked him now, I bet he would say he was wrong.

After living out of her house for a year or 2 and saying sorry their mother-son relationship has never been so good. They have both excepted eachother and everything has pretty much worked out for the best. This just shows that after all the rough shit his mother's love is unconditional, as it naturally is for many.

Rachel, i'm not accusing you of anything. I just think you should maybe chill back and think about the whole situation. I really do hope the best for you and would love to hear an update in a few days. Good luck!

Rachel, Powair, whatever you wanna be called.. I didn't mean any offence by my post, so if you took some from it, then my apologies. In my opinion, you should listen to what 4252 said. He seems like a really smart guy that knows what he's talking about. Taking advice from people like me, A Foo Says, etc, is probably a bad idea, because we're all probably in the same kinda position one way or the other, or at least can relate to what you're saying.. only some people express it differently, or deal with it differently.

I take back what I said earlier about your parents 'doing what they think is best'. For all I know, they could just be sadistic bastards with nothing else better to do than torment their daughter.. I don't know the facts, so I shouldn't have commented (something I should have learnt a long time ago :)).

My advice (and it probably won't help much, but it's the best I can do) is keep your head up. We all think we're living in hell until we turn 18 (are you 18 yet?) and then BAM, we're free... So keep your head up, and maybe one day you'll learn to forgive them, and maybe even empathise with them. Who knows? :)

I know those people are stupid, but sometimes people like that can impact your life. I know I have had plenty of jobs working for and with people just like that. I'm not saying you have to care what people think, but if you present yourself in certain ways, certain people (mostly igrorant ones) pass judgement.

And if you look at the post more carefully, I said "I know it's bullshit" right before I started talking about it. Sorry for not being more clear.

But you're right, it's just a shame that appearance matters to people that dumb, and these are the people you may have to work for, or kiss their ass some day. Pret-ty frustrating.

welp I got kicked out by my parents, at 16 years old...mostly cause I was selling weed, and they didn't want that sort of thing around my young siblings (even tho I just came home to sleep really, w/e I understand what they meant). luckily enough they gave me a week to get my shit together; I found a place that I could afford on my pizza place/dealing income, and I lived on my own two feet for 8 months...and it was fantastic, no doubt aboot it, but it wasn't to last...took a couple E one night and ended up three hours drive away from work, alone and sketchy...getting home was a fun two days tho.

That two days cost me my job, and suddenly I couldn't afford to live on my own anymore...called my folks after 8 months of not talking, went over for dinner and a nice long talk, and moved back in that weekend...with some rules (basically no drugs in the house, or you're gone for good...and they did check my pockets for a couple weeks after that)

point I'm trying to make is, they had a reason to kick me out...and they had a reason to take me back...both times it was cause they loved me.

I don't know what you're looking for posting this...could be a plea for help, could be a fit of anger, could be drugs. Whatever. Doesn't matter. Did your parents have a reason to kick you out? Even if that reason doesn't make sense to you? Were your actions the reason you got kicked out? maybe theres something you should change...I was lucky, I had a job to support myself. 16 is not a good age to be unemployed with rent due, especially if going home is an option (albeit conditional)

A lot has been said here, some heated and in my personal opinion rude and others were just spouting their opinion. Personally I can sympathize with Rachel in some things but in others i cant. I am 16 and my parents kicked me out for their own reasons one was because i started dating a guy behind their back, two was because yea i can tend to state my opinion and get mouthy, and three they just didnt want to deal with me at the moment because my dad is dying of cancer. One thing i would never say about my parents is that i want to slit their throats. I love my parents I just dont get a long with them very well. So I just had to learn when i am around them to button my lip and just not argue. I also thank my parents for the great oppritunities they have opended up to me in my life. One they homeschooled me all the way up until december and then i passed my college entrance exam with flying colors and am currently attending jr college for my associates in engineering. My mom, who is prolly the one i dont get along with the most, pushed me to apply for an essay scholarship that i didnt want to try for because i was nervous and now the next two years of my schooling are paid for. They have also introduced me to the most important person in my life, God. Without God i would have been a goner a long time ago. Just try to look at things from your parents perspective, they only want to protect you not hurt you.

So Rachel there is so much you can do with your life. You claim to be an itellectual so why not try for some scholarships and go back to school. Yeah hitchiking around the states would be a great learning expierence but its nothing like what you would get at school. I just hope and pray that if i can help you at any time let me know. I know that i am younger then you but we all have lessons that we can teach each other.

I'm concerned about the hitch hiking around part, I did it when I was in my late teens, and feel it's a risky thing to do. Had a lot of unpleasant encounters and near misses. And I was just a boring, ugly, teen age "boy", albiet it street wise enough. A reasonably good looking girl would probably attract a lot of trouble on the road.

i have a kids ages 15 and 17 ,who think im a hard ass strict parent becuase i keep myself ready to "be there when needed" i except the fact i cant be liked by them at all times,that they will feel hate towards me for punishments.
i dont meddle in their lives as much as i can avoid it, but i make sure i know where they are at all times and if i dont know where they are,who they are hanging with ect,They wont get to go anywhere anytime soon,

my 15 yr old was gonna stay at one friends,she ended up at another ones house,(who's mom deals btw)that i FORBID her to even be there,let alone spend a night,well she got busted ,redhanded.she blatantly did exactly what i said dont do,
i took every privlidge she had,even TOOK her off the cheerleading squad
before ya say mean ol' prick you should know,I told her in simple terms If you do go to this kids house,i will do this,and this and this and that,
she did,and i did what i said i would do.i cut all contact with friends other than In school.for weeks she had ,and i quote 'NO LIFE"
