Pick a light schedule and stick with it. Don't alter it, 18/6 20/4 or 24/0. Their are varying opinions on which is best and no concensus.Quote:

Thanks Jay and Weezard. I've left the lighting at 18/6, temps for the day, high 81.9 low 73.9 Humidity 41-52%
I hope my negligence hasn't already stressed her too much. :(
Can someone tell me what I'm seeing at the base of all the new growth leaves?:wtf: If it's nanners this plant will become a house plant in the living room.
i upgraded to a 26 watt cfl so ill post new pics in the next 2 days to show u new growth if i get any
Did some searching,... found this thread,... Looks like the same thing I've got going on, Axial limbs was the conclusion.
http://boards.cannabis.com/plant-pro...-not-sure.html
Any input? I fell a bit better after reading that thread tho.
I'm feeling better about my gender issues,... so I checked back in on her. And she's been stretching!!!!
So, against my earlier decision of all natural, I've gone ahead and started LST,
She's got a bunch of branches trying to start near the base of the stalk, and they've been stunted over the last couple day's thanks to the much larger fan leaves coming in up top and blocking the lights that were almost 9" away from them.:(
The light's are much closer now! :hippy:
I think she`s OK, it's easy to get into a panic on your first grow. ;)Quote:

It would be better if you could use a proper reflective material like mylar or what Weezard uses (can't rememeber what it is called).
It's called reflectix, I use it everywhere.
V. cool stuff, but plain old white paper plates do jus' fine as soil covers.
The tinfoil works in a pinch and it's specular nature seems to confuse whitefly as well.
Aloha, Cannawhatsis.
Those li'l spurs are called stipules I think.
They are not boy, or girl bits at this point.
Plant looks OK, relax a li'l.:rastasmoke:
It's jus' a weed.
Aloha y'all.
Weedzard
Well,... I tied her down not long before the lights went off last night,... and they've only been on for about an hour and a half so far this morning.
I'd say she's adjusting nicely.
Looks great! :D
I (as you know) couldn't post a couple days there due to the keyboard bath.:D
So after reading your thread I think you MAY be over watering a little. You should only water once you've dried out almost completely, but before the plant droops. It's best to allow it to droop a tiny bit and feel the weight of the pot at that time. Then in the future you can check by lifting the pot. It usually works out to about two and a half to three days between waterings.
First bend looks great though. You're very close to to late to pull that off, many more nodes and that girl would have been to stiff.
Here is what my first bend looked like, then 10 days later when I tied back the new branches.
Looking at that latest pic I agree. It also looks like you have a little bit of nute burn (the dark tips on the end of those 2 lower fan leaves). As you know I don't use soil, but I would think watering less would stop that.Quote:

As for the dry tips on the very bottom leaves they are from when she was cloned,... we didn't have really ANYTHING set up when we got the plant, so low temps and humidity didn't help,... haven't had any problem with the new growth drying out.
I know I'm pushing the time limit when I could get the stem to bend, but after adding the humidifier tho she started to stretch and when I gave her a little push she just seemed to enjoy it so out came the string! :D
The new growth from today is level to the lights and the branches have started to curve around and up. I'm gonna let the "Top" stretch another day before starting to follow the outline of the pot with the main stem.
Temps are a bit on the high side again now that the lights are down so close to the floor,... lots of heat trapped in a little space.
I've gotta wait until my next paycheck to get supplies to build a proper room in the basement, so for now the closet has to do.:beatdeadhorse:
your plants look nice mines finally starting to get more leafs i see two in the process you were right about the light situation that 26 watt cfl is helpin out a lot also weitched to a 24/0 light schedual went to wally world today and couldnt find shit for splitters so im gana hit lowes up tomorrow
Man every time I go to look at her she's grown!!!:D
Even a couple of the new branches have branch buds on them! I should have a little bush in another week and a half at this rate,... I'm gonna try and keep the canopy tied down as it grows so I don't have to move the lights up.
Nother crappy cellphone pic
And this morning the wife was complaining about the humidity in the closet! I"m growing HER medicine!!!!!:wtf:
So I've opted to transplant one of the cabinets in the garage into the basement as a temporary veg room while we save $$$ to properly frame off our space and get everything squared away.
Pics to follow.;)
Shit, drank too much last night,... took a bunch of pics, but "misplaced" the camera
Temps spiked pretty high after I got everything set up,... tho so far this morning everything looks OK. I'm gonna have the wife keep an eye on the temps today while I'm at work.
Actually not a bad little grow room over all.
Pics are in reverse order from our old hanging mylar wrapping paper enclosure to the current set up.
I took LOTS of pics,.. and MOST of them SUCK!
Temps stayed in the upper 70's today, and humidity hovers around 60% (Drops rapidly when the doors are opened.)
This will work for a while I'm thinking.
Looks great! I wouldn't do that permanently, but you could likely veg it a month or more in there.
I blew up your "first" pic. Might have been the last, from what you said.:D Those lower leaves are looking much bigger now.
2nd bend tonight,... curved the main stem back in towards the rim of the pot. She's got a nice "S" to her stem now! :D and she's still UNDER 6" tall:jointsmile:
I've been thinking about LST and SCROG,..... Well mainly just staring at my little girl and trying to figure out a better canopy.... and I had an idea....:weedpoke: What about putting a low screen over the plant while she's small, then LST to the screen for veg, then a 2nd screen when flowering?:hippy:
Yay? Nay? Fo0King go for it? Retard? I'm open to all opinions on that little brain fart.

Oh Yeah,... Found the camera too!:jointsmile:
I don't quite get what you mean to be honest. Cannabis plants stretch/grow in height for the first 2 weeks of flower. After that they don't get much taller, they just get fatter. The ideal scrog fills the screen by the second week of flower, after that it's buds all the way till harvest.Quote:

More my idea with the lower screen is an even grid to LST to. No rats nest of string tying the plant back to the pot, and an even base to start with. Know what I mean?
Again, thanks for the input, I spent a bunch of time combing over the thread you linked, still more reading to do there,... but my Idea with the lower screen is just a LST thing ;)Quote:

First pic, an overveiw. 2nd pic main stem "trained" under the grid. 3rd pic got one of the new branches trained too. 4th pic, another wide shot.
Enjoy, Whatsis.
Ok... I think I get what you mean now. You are skipping the light bondage and going straight for the cage. With the screen that low, how are you going to water once it starts to fill up?
Yeah, I was thinking about the watering thing this morning,.... it'll be easy for the next month or so,... after that I'll have to use a wand or something to get under the canopy. The screen is about 3" off the top of the pot, and the stakes are in the soil so if I need to repot the screen will come out with the plant :wtf: It's not gonna be easy tho.
Looking god canniwhatsis I will be following your grow...
Thanks for the comment! :DQuote:

Pic #2 Over view.:D
Pic #3 Close up with some decent color.:hippy:
Pic #4 the branches at the bottom are starting to stretch.
Pic #5 The reason I'm doing this experiment.
I've never seen a screen this low before. I wonder what problems/benefits will come along with the setup. I would think, like someone else said, that it will be difficult to water. I also wonder if the leaves will hang down into the soil once the plant fills out a bit. Time will tell.

Couple pics after tonight's training session before bed time, Enjoy.:rastasmoke:
Figured I'd reiterate the "Still in VEG!!!" part of that,... I"m "pre screening" my eventual ScrOG. Currently the screen is 15"x24" when it fills up I figure she will be root bound in the 3 gallon pot she's in, so I'll transplant her to a minimum 5 gallon pot, then put her into flower!Quote:

Thoughts?
I could be missing something and failing to understand what you are doing. But I don't think this is going to work. Please bear in mind I highlighted the word think, because I don't know. I am going to be watching with interest though. :jointsmile:Quote:

Your probably right,.... this is my first shot at growing after all. I'm not entirely sure what to expect as things progress. :o
I admire your pioneering spirit. If everyone followed the rules and didn't try new things, a lot of the established techniques wouldn't exist. I tend to be more cautious and go with proven ideas.Quote:

The main stem is (was) shooting all the branches to the outside of the screen, I need to get it turned in and start getting branches spreading to the inside, so a couple zip ties and some string were involved.
Nothing much else to report, temps and humidity are under control in my little cabinet, grow room is still under construction, need to rent a hammer drill today.
Couple pics after last nights training session.
It looks a little bigger now. :D
Keep a VERY close eye on how tight those zip ties get over the next couple/few weeks. The stems will thicken quite a lot, and a tight tie will strangle your stems if left tight.
Otherwise, get ready for a lot of fast growth, and lookin good!
I added a pic of when my plant (string) tie back strangled the main stem.
The zip ties get removed as soon as the stem is trained under the wire,... I haven't had any of the ties I've used on the plant for more than a couple days!
I think you are missing the point of a scrog, but whatever... it`s your grow.Quote:

I understand that scrog is typically only done at flowering, and is used to keep the canopy at an even distance from the light and allow all the bud points equal light.
