Good Growing
wooowww, your light setup is working very well, the nodes look really close together, your buds should be tight when you get to drying them
it wouldnt hurt to put the lights closer to your plants....the fluoros you have do not reach high temperatures and putting them closer gives the plants more intense light which will make them grow a little faster
the 3 tubs are connected to the wall and I'd be too much of a hasel to try to move them closer then move them back as the plants grow more. I'll just leave em there and adjust my 2 over head cfl lights which are closer to the plant about 2 inchs
you have enough lumens of light to not worry about them being so close...if you were growing with one or two lights, then you'd need to have them an inch or two from the plant, but you've got brightness coming from all directions, so i think they're doing great...they won't really grow faster with the light closer, the nodes will just grow closer together and it wont stretch so much, and the buds will end up being tighter...
watch CAREFULLY every day though, those leaves will reach up to the light to the point that they'll touch them, and those lights will burn the leaves even if they're not that hot...just don't let the leaves touch the lights, i did once and it burnt my leaves all to hell...
:oI agree w/ johnny you dont wanna over water. many growers do that they see there plants droppin so they water, they see em droopin more so they water it again, before they know it there plants curled over and died and they dont know why. DONT MAKE THAT MISTAKE!Quote:

cannabis101: For the past month now I've been watering every 4-7 days, no more overwatering problems. Also for the last month a rotating fan has been blowing a nice wind on them so stems are nice n strong :) temps stay at around 75 now, probably get a bit hotter when summer weather arrives still gets down to 45 outside at night.
jadeius: Thanks for the tip on lights I've been moving them up a little everyday and watching closesly. If they grew 2inchs in 12 hours I might be in trouble but I don't think that will happen of will it? hope not
thanks for the posts I'll try to take some pics tommorow havn't taken pics of maryjane the smaller plant in a long time. oh yea and I had an idea for co2 but I don't know if this is really practical.. If I took a paintball gun that uses co2 if I just fired with no pantballs in it obviously into my grow room it'd give it some co2 in the air for a short bit of time..is this worth doing or maybe its not enough co2 to effect anything?
Decided to tie them down at 90angle this morning. Hopefully this will improve lighting to the lower parts and give a little more yield. I might put a screen over them in the next couple days havn't decided yet. Should I trim off the big fan leaves? If I need to, how close to the stem do I cut them?
1st pic is "angela" tied down
2nd pic is "angela" looks like a female?
3rd pic is "angela and mary-jane" mj in the front much smaller then other plant
going to go buy 2 more 24inch fluros 20w each and 2 more 42w cfls so that will boost me to 263watts :D ...and give mary-jane some much needed light
1st day after trainning
Spank...
You have some real potential here with your plants.
My Advice?
Anglea is not showing any signs of sex, based upon your pic provided.
The outer leaf edges are going yellow. That concerns me.
It looks as though it could be a chronic UNDER WATERING Problem. Even in the pic its dirt dry. Never let indoor soil get that dry. Frick man I am thirsty just looking at it. TOo much emphasis is placed on OVER WATERING. As long as the soil isn't muddy wet, its fine. Allow them to dry out every now then a bit, but never ever, never never ever, bone dry.
Like I said, real potential. Tying them down will do wonders, but they need some water.
Leave the fans leaves as they are now. They may be too far gone to return but, they still have a lot of juice to feed the new growth.
Your plants will now take on a whole new look in the coming days and weeks.
You need more light indeed.
Other than that....HAPPY GROWING BUD :)
Start of week 3 in 12/12
both plants are female the smaller one showed first and already has a nice cola starting the larger one has hairs but has started to flower as much
oops I messed up on my last post
i said
"has hairs but has started to flower as much"
i meant
"has hairs but hasn't started to flower as much"
tried to edit message to correct typo but it took longer then 5 minutes to do, I guess after 5 minutes u can edit unless u talk to administrator o well
how are they coming along now then??
I decided to kill mary-jane the smaller plant even though it was a female it was very small and had some problems will just give angela the bigger plant more room in the box
shes looking very nice I think had lots of bud spots
wow, that looks nice, gonna be nice and big
that so funny, my plant's name is BIG ANGIE! lol
some more pics taken today, she looks so yummy
Everythings coming along nicely, got an a/c to helps with temps during the day and also got 2 heavy duty timers at home depot. Going on vacation in another week so only thing to work out now is getting them water.
Very nice. How tall and wide are the plants now?
stickygreenlightsabr heres a pic showing current size
oops made the text to small on pic if u can't see it, it reads 12inchs wide 18inchs long and 8 inchs tall..
Made another new box today its a bit bigger and should circulate air alot better.. spray painted the box with 2 coats of cheap white paint then one coat of semi gloss paint looks nice and bright in there. Mylar is too much of a fuss didn't feel like getting in a bad mood screwing with that stuff. Also have 2 20watt lights on the bottom facing up hopefully angela likes it well see tommorow..
the last pic there is the top of the box with mylar over the lights u can see into the box when the lights r on I made a cover to put over that also so no light gets out top. stoned..
I have used a similar setup. Solar safety blanket from the sporting goods section. I like tubes better though.
that's what I had been using saftey blanket...such a bitch to deal with
nice shit man. i revived this thread so i could take the same steps spankgeti took
your fertilizer sounds like it would be better for flowering, not for vegative growth. youll want the first and third numbers to be higher than the middle for this. then when you flower, use the stuff you have now.
im caught inbetween two things here. on other weed growing sites they tell to make sure that there isnt direct airflow on your plant so it doesnt use most of its energy on making a tough stem so it grows more bigger and better buds, but on here people are telling you to have a fan blowing on it, so which is correct?
