Nice looking babies :greenthumb:
I had recently started using bag pots and im not to fond of them.
I am now planning on switching to square plastic pots (more space, more plants),I wanted to know if you liked them and what are the advantages?
thanks in advance
Damn i gotta say.... nicely done man, nicely done. I'll be praying for females all around. :)
square, round, I use them both, especially the smaller sizes. I think putting square pots edge to edge to conserve space wouldn't work for me as I like to turn the plants in relation to the lights quite often. Square pots wouldn't make this too easy. I've used the 3 gallon bags for two grows now and I like them. I don't think I'd go any bigger. I transplant into 5 gallon pails if I need to.
Thank you for the kind words too. Good luck with your grow.

The plants are into their eighth week of veg and are mature (alternate nodes) but none have shown sex, as of yet. They have stretched as much as I can deal with so I've started LST on the taller ones.
Yesterday I watered and fed them. Today I changed the lamps to HPS and warm white T-5 HO and set the timer for 11 hours of light and 13 hours of dark. If no sex in another week or so I'll go to 9 hours of light.
I'll wait to transplant. If I'm lucky enough to have all or mostly females ethen I might just finish them all in the 3 gallon pots. If I have some males then I will have room to go into 5 gallon pails.
I've been too much busy to photo or do much of anything but I will get a photo update sometime this week.

I hope your feeling better, I know you and your family were not well for sometime. Take care of yourslef first, dont worry about pics, we understand, well I do. Take Shove and I bet your babies still look great.
Thanks for the updates Shov, and as EnhAnceD said... we can wait.
Very happy to say that flowering has begun Downunder and my skunks look absolutely smashing.
Happy days,
sara
Switched to a new HPS lamp and WW T5s. Lights on 11, off 13 for now. If the haze do not show sex in a week I'll go to 9/15 until they do and then gradually go back to 12/12.
Here's photos of the five NH and six SSH x BB. The NH have been topped and LSTed, the SSH x BB not topped, just LSTed. One detailed photo of the method I use to LST, pieces of wire. The final photo is the Bubblegum x Blueberry. This plant has not been topped nor LSTed.

Ladies are looking great shov :greenthumb:
Im also liking that technique you are using to figure out the sex.
Lately ive been having luck and getting all females, they show sex before flowering (besides my hermie problem).
I think I am going to do this as well as would like to know the sex before i put them into flowering just in case my next grow isn't that lucky
Shoot, most of the nice hybrids I've grown show sex in 6 weeks veg (18/6) This sucks. Last time I waited forever to find all mu NH were males.
I did my daily check and I see one male...one female, two females...total, one male eleven females, all the Neville's Haze are females.

AWESOME!! You deserve it, after that last go-round. :greenthumb: Things are looking super!Quote:

Hallelujah! Girls, girls, girls.
Shove, my friend, its lookin like you got a batch of winners. Here's hoping they are all female. I won't be starting a new grow till mid march. waiting to see what my new hybrid heating and cooling system does to the utility bills before I start the next grow.
Keep on keeping on.
His seedlings died after turning colors, etc. I tol'em to bring his soil, I'll put the probe in it and check out some stuff. He says "Oh no, It's not that. I used brand new promix and perlite"
Ok, sorry can't help ya then. :stoned: GFY
I have two mystery seedlings and four BG x BB clones in hempies...I could give 'im them. :stoned: nawt.

Awwww I loved old Bill Steamshovel as a kiddy...
...well actually, I started at 11/13 and as even the Neville's Haze were flowering up nicely I changed to 12/12 this week.
Yesterday I put the four NH bags into 5 gallon pails. I figurre that these plants will go a month or more longer than the others, especially the BG x BB so I might as well fill the space with bud.

Neville's Haze. Each has it's own aroma, some delightfully sweet, some milder.

Outstanding trees my friend
Nice jungle there Shov!!!
The girls are looking lovely Shov.
Top grade shov. Business as usual.:)
Impressive for just a 400w and some side lighting
So is the total wattage around 600w?
Keep up the good work
My goal is to learn how to grow tastey, potent herbs of many varieties. I'm doing pretty well at learning to pop some seeds, take cuttings, sometimes. When time dictates I will cross pollinate and create seeds and hope that at least a couple of plants come out nice. Also, my feeding seems to really help the plant develope mild smoke and nice flavors and smells, according to most testers.
Really it seems that I just started, there's so much that can be done.

:D Keep up the good work
Looking good bro :greenthumb:
Top rate my friend. One day we will have to compare samples of the product of our labors
Hey Steve, I have a very difficult time comparing my own herbs but I sure wouldn't mind trying! ;)

Still a ways to go, but going strong. I changed the T5s to 'blue' grow lamps to add spectrum for increasing trichome, as I'm led to believe.
Sho
I changed the (4) T-5HOs from yellow to blue (grow lamps). Still have the 400W HPS but the blue is supposed to help with some trichome production.
The grow area is pretty tight with lots of time yet til done. Only one BG x BB will finish early. Then the (5) SSH x BB. These are all in 3 gallon bags. The remaining NH are 3 gallon on top of 5 gallon pails and will take the longest to finish. I think this should work out rather fine. What do you think, folks?
Shubl
Sounds good to me! (But what he hell do I know) :)Quote:

Really lookin' forward to seeing those NH ripen-up, I reckon they will love all that root space. Lookin' great!
