haha cheers monny. Returned to you also. My next grow should be starting next feburary. Going to use 250 watt Hps and use fluros for veg. orerdering seeds wednesday - getting LSD, Super Lemon Haze and Jack Diesel. Going to be the BANGERS !

Nice grow and log. I'm currently at week one of growth and I'm so excited. I like looking at nicely updated logs like yours cause I only have about 2.5-3 feet of grow space and like to see roughly how big my plants will be and when I should flower. I figured i'd start flowering at about 2-3 weeks old and that way they should b around 2 to 3 ft tall when done. It's my first grow and I'm just seeing how it goes and will def. do it again after this on a bigger and better scale. But anyways, good work and keep it up. :smokin::thumbsup:

I stated to flower at 21 days and they werent that big, now there about 2 feet tall as they had a growth spurt when i started flowering, so id suggest 21 days for veg then flower. What light are you using ? This is my first proper grow aswell, its good fun but remember not to tell anyone and leave any paper trails !! keep me updated with your progess etc

hey again, I'm using 4 100w equivalent daylight cfl's. workin well so far but im sure i'll have to add some more after i go into flowering cycle. I figure half will be males so i'll have a few ladies to take care of. And not telling anyone has been my biggest thing, plus all this stuff is just ficticious anyways. Just dreaming about growing. But nobody knows of my daydreaming ideas. haha. Good girmination rate has left me with slightly more then I intended but oh well. I was thinking that if they where to produce at least half an O each thatd be nice. I need it for pain and its way better, cheaper and non-habit forming as painkillers. I would post pics but once again this is all just a plan that I've had for awhile so I dont have anything to actually take a pic of. ;):thumbsup:

peoples plants from germination seem to be a decent size around a month.Is this because they keep the lighting at 24 hrs daylight.if so how long till you begin to change from 24 to 12/12 or do you keep the lights on 24/7 for a month then switch to 12/12 for flower.sorry noob here.
put the in 12/12 when ever u want u could veg them for a year then flower if u wanted too
But you shouldn't try to flower before they show pre-flowers or have about 4-5 nodes if grown from seeds. If from clones, as long as the mother would've been ready to flower when the clones were taken, they only need to develop a decent root system to be switched to 12/12, although more veg time will up your yield.Quote:

Update-Plants moved out of my bedroom because they smell so much ! now in my friends loft which is very cold so i made an attempt to warm them up with a sleeping mat - third pic on buds section. I think it may be way too cold because no water evaporates or gets used up by the plants ! might have to move them back inside my cuboard for flushing before harvest so they use all the fresh water to remove ferts.

hey charbud, nice pics, I'm keepin up with your log. My sunflower plants are comin up on their 4th set of leaves already and it hasnt even been 2 full weeks yet since germination. So I've came up with my plan....There all in 16oz. dixie cups and I figure I don't have much space to grow in, keepin them in a box. I am going to have about 2.5 feet max to work with unless I make a bigger box. So I am going to put them into flower at 2.5 maybe 3 weeks and basically going to have 12 dixie cups all next to each other until they show sex...males will go immediately and hopefully be left with half females. After that I will space out the cups a bit to give them more room and add a few more cfl's. I'm just doin this on micro scale and don't really care as long as I get a decent amount from each(sunflower seeds that is). I will send you pics so you can see. So anyways what u think? btw I have a very retarded plant. leaves everywhere and there all disfigured and all. Idk but im keepin it. still healthy and green otherwise.

lookin nice man as far as ur light and height issues,,
!1. early on in the begining of flower or, the mid- late veg , u could have tied them down (LST) carefully! in order to amend your light level .
get a little more light to the lower areas. :thumbsup:
Also because the stems expand to allow mor water and nutes to the sbuds, in the begining of flowering, i sugguest that if you do any (LST) do it in the mid- late vegg. while the stems are still bend-able .. just B careful.
And any extra light is much accepted .. remember its adaptation when u bring a species into the new.... i think its somthing like 100k plus lumen that the sun beams onto the face of the earth per square inch .!? dont quote me yet

and in your closet your pumping 10k per ft or wht eva, and that diminishis after 3 feet to 2k and ths pushin it to survive.

my lighting scedual fer the last 2 years indoor has been 17/7.
peeps think it kinda screwy but its jus my method..
and check out some greensand for the final transplant into bag/bucket
it dose wonders thruout the entire cycle..

Smallgrow - hope those 'sun flower' seeds are coming along well! i would highly:stoned: recommend 21 days of veg as that is what i have done and they only grew so big because as i put the light quite far away from the tops. Defiantly start a grow log and i will subscribe ! keep the retareded plant, there jokes to have jamming around the place - bathrooms, window ledges etc .
Monny - there about 35 daysish i think into flowering, cant be bothered to work out the precise time as im very tired !! lol. And they are not an auto flowering strain - peace

so what im getting to, is i kinda just came around to the idea , thinking about putting my self in that work horse position..would i want to work 24hrs nonstop ..? NO... 20,18 so on and so on..
this is how it was met to be ..
in the light, the stems, leaves, and stock all do most of their growing.
in the dark, the tap root starts to search for water ,once found it sends out the fiberous roots .
this is why i use a bottom fed watering system, with some misting on the top soil .
if you watch those "dancing pot plant videos" when they reach up they are streaching and using the water that the roots pulled up the night before,
then they kinda fall and go limp thats when the roots are loading up the stem again
true they do this under 24 hrs but what im getting at is its a bit of a lighter load for the plant to carry .
if you work for your ladies they will pay you more then you excpect..
so this all might be a little confusing but im stoned and and tired

can you use african violet miracle grow?? an what about a 250 watt red light??
I have only ever used a weak solution of all purpose miracle grow which has a lot of nitrogen in it for veg growth. If the violet miracle grow has a high amount i guess it would be ok. Start using a weak solution to start with ortherwise you may damage your plants.
Im using a 250 watt red spectrum light at the moment for flowering. I would reccomend to buy a blue spectrum 300 watt light for veg growth and then switch to the red for flower, this will give you the best results.

Hey Charbud what about a pic update. Mine and yours are about the same age, but yours are 3 times bigger then mine. They did go through a lot of stress:wtf:, over watered, lights fell on them and lived at a friends house as a house plant for a week:wtf:. Not as easy when i cant get my hands on them.

Hey nice grow and show your putting on! Hey question on your bulb. How long before you have to replace them for maximum lumens? I replace my mh and hps every other grow and haven't really used CFL other then side lighting and veg situations. How much was it? Totally dig the reflector your using as well, it seems to spread the light nicely.
Letseeya is it about time for an update ! have been very busy and plants havent been at the top of my agenda.
I have harvested 3 out of the five as they matured earlier than the other two which are still just a couple days away from harvest.
Bit dissapointed with the yield up to now, probably get between1.5 ounces to 2 ounces alltogether. Maybe thats ok for cfl's ?!
Low yield mainly because of the light penetration, cfls arent penetrating at all so all the lower buds didnt develop much, so next time i shall try that technique where you train your plants to grow on their sides, well bent over. Not sure what the name for the technique is though..anyone ?
frostedwonder, i could highly reccomend the cfl for vegging small plants. I have a 300 watt bulb cfl for that which works wonders although the 250watt flowering light doesn't really cut the bread. The bulb was around $65-70 or £35. I would definately stick with the hps and mh ! Also i have no idea when i have to change bulbs. I think they degrade slowly but my lamp is around 20,000 lumens.

very nice charbud, I am siked as my babies are coming along very well. Just made a new box for em and it is absolutely the shit. way more lights and very good ventilation and even a cool viewing window. I will post up pics when I start my log after I'm done with everything. I'm comin up to 5 weeks now in a couples days and I started flowering at 3 weeks like you said. I'm just barely able to tell their sex now but def looks like I got a lot of females, just wanna make sure I know a hundred percent before I scrap the males. dont wanna make any mistakes and scrap a female by accident. using mylar and 10 26w cfl's in the new box plus its way taller so I can easily fit 3 ft tall flowers now. You would think this box was professionally built for this sole purpose if looking at it. Hoping I'll be done here in the next 6 weeks or so. Your plants came out very nice, I've been waitin for u to update with harvest info, haha. finally. Well def check in for my log. for security reasons I dont want to start the log til the grow is done. well I'll check back. seeya :thumbsup:

Ye i think the cold slowed my growth but didnt affect them maturing. bit of a shame as they were packing on the weight before they were transported to my buds house !

From ebay. Would reccomend buying some smaller cfls for around the sides of the plants otherwise those buds wont grow that much.
