Himalaya Gold: 1st grow log (advice appreciated)
Ok guys i've decided to go for two System Air RKV100's for ease of installation and for the fact i can hook it up easily to a carbon filter which i plan on getting in the future. So thats great so they should be coming in the mail soon, keep you updated.

Himalaya Gold: 1st grow log (advice appreciated)
Ok guys heres some more post-flush pics. I dont wanna speak too soon but they appear to be doing better. The drooping from the flushing is gone and the leaves are getting more green. Take a look at the last close-up pics a few posts back and compare it to these, looks better in my opinion :) The leaves still have some curling around the edges... So i'm guessing the soil i got is shitty, my last grow ended after 2 weeks from the same problem and i'm still having trouble with it even after switching to seedling soil....picky little girls :wtf:
Anyways, tomorrow i'll be buying Ph + and - to iron out the low Ph of the water i'm using.

Himalaya Gold: 1st grow log (advice appreciated)
once again the babies are looking like theyre not gonna make it. I'm getting real pissed off about this. I mean, its a weed for christs sake. I've never had so many problems as i'v been having now. The last grow ended from the same problem. I dont know if its the soil or what but it definately looks like nute burn (curling leaves, tips of the leaves turn yellow, small spots form then quickly spread to the new growth and finally death.) I flushed the soil twice and it's no use!!! I at least know its not a pH or temp problem. If this grow doesnt end nicely i'm gonna be fucking furious. I've grown in the past with so much less of the resources i now have at my disposal and it worked out fine.
Here's what i'm gonna do if it doesnt work out...I'm gonna leave it up to all you vets out there to give me a complete list of what i should get to make this work. Lights arent a problem, same with ventilation. The vent fans are already on the way in the mail. So i BEG all you vets out there to tell me your secrets. What soil should i use? It seems that any soil i use have too much nutes in it (even seedling soil) Anything else i should think about? This has happened twice now , i'm pulling out my hair from frustration. I'll be putting up pics soon of the little ones as soon as i get more batteries, i'm really starting to hate my camera :(

Himalaya Gold: 1st grow log (advice appreciated)
It is your soil dude..Seedlings dont need any nutes the first 3 weeks of their life and I usually let mine go 4. I like to use only soils dedicated to cannabis like PRO-MIX or Sunshine Mix.. These are soils that have nothing and them and are designed for adding your own nutes.

Himalaya Gold: 1st grow log (advice appreciated)
I started with bad seed for the same exact reason that your pissed off right now. A lot of your problems could have been avoided if you did a lil more research. It's very obvious that plants at your stage do not need nutes. Sunshine and good ol' water til they start looking more mature (3weeks or so) and they will also have 3 nodes or so. I just put my first grow into flower (12/12)yesterday from bag seed, and as i mentioned this is my first go at it. Im hoping for some good results, as the plant looks nice and healthy right now. I am hoping it's a fem. My next step is to do a final transplant which im a lil nervous about. I hope all goes well. lol. I have not yet decided on which soil to go with. I have use miracle grow the whole grow thus far with good result's. Now it's time to choose another commercial grade soil that i can get at one of the popular stores where everyone shops at. I still haven't got any suggestions yet on which soil i should flower her in. Shall i stick with the MG? Please any suggestions are will be very helpful since im gonna be getting the soil and new pot for the final transplant this weekend. I understand that i should use a medium with high P levels and low N levels, which is vice versa during Veg time.

Himalaya Gold: 1st grow log (advice appreciated)
From what i hear from other posts Miracle Grow isnt all that great, but if its working for you then go for it  I've done loads of research on growing and i know they dont need nutes so early, i just overlooked that small detail. Like i said this isnt my first grow and from what i remember it was easy as hell growing this wonderful plant. I just never thought seedling soil would have so many harmful nutes in it, i guess it's just crappy low quality soil :wtf: In any case i got home today and looked at the little ones and from what i can tell at this point it's just the "old" leaves that are going to die. The new growth appears healthy for the most part, but i know that can change very quickly. They ARE growing, and kind of quick too but we'll see if they can keep it up. The stems are strong and thick which leads me to believe they may be ok (fingers crossed.)
It's almost watering time again so i think i'll be flushing them again, cant hurt at this point.
So here's my questions: Should i clip away the dead (or dying) leaves at the bottom or should i just let them fall off on their own? I've read that if you clip the bottom leaves it focuses production towards the new growth which would be great, but i dont see anyone doing it at this stage in the grow.
And does anyone know any websites that sell this sunshine mix or pro-mix? preferrably UK or European based sites.
Thnx a bunch

Thanks for your kind reply my friend. I understand the MG soil isn't up to the task of experienced growers, which i can't blame them one bit since they have much much more experience at the hobby than i do at the moment lol. So far so good for me. I haven't added any nutes to the soil medium and so far i am on day 5 of 12/12 flower. I wish i had pics to provide as i noticed people are much more helpful when they are present in the posts, which i don't blame folks one bit. Pictures are always worth a thousand words for sure.
To answer your question about the dead leaves at the bottom part of the plant, i personally would just let them be and let mother nature do her thing. Either way I don't think it would matter much if ya plucked a couple. That's no big deal, as i have done it, but just make sure they are completely dead since the plant to my understanding makes use of everything she or he has.
I know this is a little bit off topic but could anyone point me in the right direction, so that i can speak with the all mighty plant goddess, A.K.A. Stinky Attick? From my understanding she lives in my neck of the woods, and so getting information about where i can pick up some top notch grow supplies would be a God send.lol I'm trying to stay away from the slave industries and their commercial products, so if your reading this Ms. Stinky i would be greatly appreciative of that. Cool peeps here, so no worries. Thanks guy's and gal's.

Himalaya Gold: 1st grow log (advice appreciated)
Ok guys its been a while, and forums are finally back up.
Lets see here, what has happened... The little babies kept getting worse so as a last ditch effort i re-potted them with natural soil i found outside. Hopefully it'll keep them clinging to life long enough for the new soil i ordered to get in, it should be here tuesday or wednesday.
I got my ventilation system, i havent yet installed it as i dont have the necessary tools at the moment but temps are fine now and man do these fans pump some air :D I cant wait to get them running. They pump 250m3/h and i have one intake and one exhaust. At some point in the future i'll be getting a carbon filter set up but the smell isnt an issue yet. Here's the link to the fans i got. 100 in diameter VK Vents extractor
The soil i orders is called "Gold Label Special Mix" and is an all natural organic soil from Holland that i've heard good things about. Here's the link to their homepage. MADE IN HOLLAND
Hopefully the little ones will recover. If not i'll just have to start over....AGAIN. Which would kinda suck to be honest. But if i do, I heard a very easy strain to grow is Northern Lights. Can anyone confirm this or give me any other "beginner" strains to check out.

Himalaya Gold: 1st grow log (advice appreciated)
Hello friends.
Ok so its been 10 days since my last post and i have great news.
After getting the soil i ordered in the mail and transplanting them i almost immediately saw improvement. In the course of 24-36 hours the leaves started turning dark green again and the growing picked up. I LOVE this soil. A few of them are taking longer to recover than others but they're on their way.
So the little ones are going to make it i think :D Now its just a waiting game to see if any will herm on me, lord knows they've been stressed enough. *fingers crossed*
Hmmmm what else is new? Oh yeah i got my ventilation system up and running. Just in time too, its getting hot here. You can see them in the pics.
I also decided to start my next grow now just in case things fall through with these cuties. I'll be trying "The Church" from Green House Seeds. I started germination today and in a few days they should be ready for the real world. I'll keep you all posted.
Now you may see the pics and think, "Oh thats some mad stretching going on....not good." But its not stretching at all. The lower leaves suffered nute burn and died (they will be missed:(), hence they look very stretched. I'll be transplanting them soon and when i do i will simply bury them a little deeper than needed to make up for it.
-
Himalaya Gold: 1st grow log (advice appreciated)
just a few new pics to show the progress. Where did everyone go?
I transplanted them into the medium sized pots, and buried them deeper in the soil than needed to account for the stretching.

Glad to see you've got your temps dialed in, better ventilation, etc. That will really help over the course of this grow and any future grows. Keep it up!

Himalaya Gold: 1st grow log (advice appreciated)
new pics.
OK so the Himalaya Gold is doing good, growth is steady and they all have lost that ugly yellow color from before and changed to a nice healthy green. There's some curling in the leaves which i believe is from heat issues. Even with these vents it still is a problem, especially with summer rolling around. Highest temp i've had is 85, not good. But nothing life threatening for them as far as i can tell. You can see this most clearly in the second pic, lemme know your thoughts about it.
The church babies have sprouted up and are looking nice so far, hope that keeps up. So far there are 8 visible and one that i'm not too sure is doing anything and one seed didnt crack.

Himalaya Gold: 1st grow log (advice appreciated)
Hello my fellow stoners and growers :)
So today i did some much needed shopping:D I've ordered the complete Hesi Nutrition starter pack, a 125mm 300 m³/h Carbon Filter, 4m ventilation tubing, and last but not least 2 Cool-Reflector Hoods.
The hoods are a closed setup with the bulb behind a plate of glass similar to a cooltube. There are exhaust holes on top which i'll be connecting to the exhaust vents. Hopefully these working together with the ventilation system will get rid of ANY heat issues i have.
So with all this i should be more or less done with any shopping i may need to do for this project which makes me more happy than you could ever know. I've built up quite a price tag on all this stuff i have so it feels great to not have to lay out any more money for a while. But the rewards will be more than worth it
They should be getting here next week hopefully, i'll keep you posted.
Heres some more pics of my garden before it undergoes the upgrade next week. I'm starting to like how they're beginning to look alot these days. Just gets better and better

Himalaya Gold: 1st grow log (advice appreciated)
OK guys heres some new pics of the girls. The little ones are growing good, no problems there. They got a little stressed the other day from heat. It was the first time i tried leaving them at home all day with the closet door shut.....not good. Temps got way way too high so i wont be doing that until my package arrives. Other than some minor leaf curling from the heat and they just keep looking better and better, but hey...maybe i'm just picky
Still waiting to get my package so i can set up the cool reflectors and tubing and such. I'm thinking thats gonna help alot once i get it all running. I should be able to put the lights WAY closer to the babies without having to worry about heat which has been a big issue. But then again i've been thinking about the room i'm using and it has alot more height than it does width so maybe taller plants instead of bushy ones will be better.

 Finally got the package with the carbon filter, hoods, vent tubing, and nutrients. Just got done setting it all up and i'm liking it.
I'm not too sure if i connected the vent tubes right. I just used duct tape as well as i could and i dont think its air tight. Does anyone know a good way to connect tubing to the hoods in a way that would make them air tight? check out the pics and see.
-
Himalaya Gold: 1st grow log (advice appreciated)
not bad! to fix the gaps in the vent i'd just get some saran wrap and if you can get ur hands on a (hot) blow dryer, seal the wrap around the openings. probably no the most effective solution, but its a solution none the less. Good Luck!
-
Himalaya Gold: 1st grow log (advice appreciated)
its cool i found a great solution. I found a roll of electrical tape lying around and tried it. Works great!! Its nice because its alot more stretchy than duct tape so i could really get it into the curves of the tubing
-
Himalaya Gold: 1st grow log (advice appreciated)
hey guys just something i was wondering about. On some of the babies the new growth is kinda curly. Anyone know why this may be?
Other than that things are moving forward. I've started with nutrients at 1/2 of the recommended dose to start with. The curling in the leaves was there before i started feeding them so i dont think thats it.
Check the pic to see the curling i'm talking about.

Himalaya Gold: 1st grow log (advice appreciated)
Plants look great! Last pic, plant on bottom left, make sure you check the underside of the leaves for critters.. could be my failing eyes but looks like some spotting. May be nutes but check just to make sure. Also, you are going to need clamps to connect that tubing to the lights . Duct tape does not hold up well to heat. Clamps are cheap and effective.

One more thing Newmangreen. Your temp gauge, temp isn't skewed from the sensor hanging over the hood is it? :rastasmoke:

Yes i've noticed these spots as well. There are no critters though that i'm sure of. I make a habit of checking daily for such things. I really dont know what thats from....but until the others start getting these spots i'm not going to worry too much about it.
Yeah i really need those clamps. Do you mean the metal ones that you tighten with a screwdriver? The tape tends to work well for a day or two then comes undone :(
Well i've started giving them nutes at 1/2 of recommended dose and i dont see any negative effects of that so i'll be continuing with that.
Happy smoking

hey there. Ummmm i really dont think so. I have the actual probe hanging around the top of the plants to get the most accurate temp possible and the gauge up on a shelf to get the ambient temp. Both of which are still too high :(
-
Himalaya Gold: 1st grow log (advice appreciated)
Sorry bout your temp issue.. can be tough to dial in for sure. And yes, the clamps you tighten with a screwdriver is what you need. only a couple bucks a set.

Yeah heat is still not as it should be. I have that exhaust fan connected to the reflectors but that small room heats up really quick now that i use both lights...just think how bad it would be if i didnt have the reflectors or vents. That has by far been the most costly of everything here...
I couldnt find those cable clamp things anywhere in this town at the right size i needed. They were all too small or way too big. Instead i bought some heavy duty zip-ties and wrapped those guys around as tight as humanly possible  Those tubes arent going anywhere :)
I also cut the lights down from 24/h to 18/6 because of this heat issue and also that i dont want to stress the plants anymore than they have been as i will start flowering not too far from now. It should save me some cash on the electric bill as well.
I dont really see any negative effects from the nutes i gave them the other day but maybe its too early to tell. I'll keep a close eye on things and if nothing bad happens i'll keep feeding them like i've been doing.
Happy Smoking,
Newman

Himalaya Gold: 1st grow log (advice appreciated)
Hello guys and gals
OK so here's everything you missed the last week:
As i said before, i started giving them small doses of nutes....well apparently not small enough. On some of them, the bottom leaves started turning yellow and getting spots. Shortly after that the leaves would die and fall off. I quickly flushed them as soon as i noticed this. They seem to be stable at the moment and improving so thats good, and i've learned a good lesson about those nutes.
Once again i didnt plan ahead good enough and forgot to buy some things. I bought that bag of soil a while ago and never thought "Hey, after i transplant into bigger pots i'm going to need more soil." Oops :( I had enough to transplant 4 of them so thats what i did and i transplanted the biggest of the babies. I'll be getting the soil this week or at the latest monday or tuesday.
I've been seeing pre-buds forming on many of the babies :D Finally i'm seeing some progress here. I really love the big fat leaves that are there now. They must be 2 inches across:thumbsup:!! I'm going to start flowering after i finish installing the carbon filter and transplanting the other babies. I know the very small babies are not at all ready to bud but i dont really have a choice. It should be very interesting seeing such small plants produce buds.
There are some pics where you can see the damage done by the nutrients. But for the most part they look good. Some plants got hit harder than others though

Hey guys i need kind of a quick answer.
My ventilation system is quite loud....very loud. So loud that it may be worth investing in a silencer or muffler.
I need to know how good these "silencers" work.
Nordic Grow AB - Ljudd¤mpare f¶r fl¤kt 125mm
They're not that cheap so i dont want to buy it if it's not going to work all that great. If u know anything about them, lemme know ASAP how well they work so i know if i should order it or not.
Happy smoking and Thank You,

Hello fellow stoners :hippy:
Sorry i havent updated in a while, i've been very busy....or lazy....or maybe a mix of the two
Well here's what you've missed:
I started flowering about a week or so ago and i can already see some buds forming, which is fucking awesome
I havent gotten my package with the soil i need to transplant them...not so awesome. I know the girls are HATING those small pots they're in but there's nothing i can do until i get that dirt. Hopefully tomorrow, its already taking longer than any other package in the past so i dont think it will be much longer. The ones i havent transplanted look considerably smaller and weaker than the ones i have so i really wanna get the others on board.
Its starting to look like a real Field of Green in my closet now. Sometimes i'll just stand there and stare into my closet. I LOVE IT!!

I recently started growing white widow from gh and noticed the same curling in the new growth. I think it's just a process the FATASS indica leaves need to go through to get to their final width. Could you imagine how big the tops would have to be to accomodate that fat of a leaf when it's born? Just food for thought. Lookin nice tho

Himalaya Gold: 1st grow log (advice appreciated)
hey guys, just wanted to post some more pics. I love how these girls are growing. They've been in flowering for about 10 days and you can really see those white pistils starting to grow everywhere.
The Church strain has a much more sweet, or perhaps fruity smell. The Himalaya Gold is more pungent and has an almost musty or wild smell.
I sent an e-mail to the site that i buy all my supplies from and i got some bad news....they are on holiday until this wednesday so i wont be able to transplant until i get that, which will probably be the wednesday after that including in the shipping time. It seems i fucked up pretty bad there :(

Hey guys.
So its been a while. But things are going more or less good. They're starting to pack on some real weight now. I actually had to tie one up because it was starting to lean a little.
STILL NO PACKAGE ....really pissed about that.....I managed to transplant two of them with the old that that was too harsh for the seedlings. They looked so much better the morning after.
On a good note. The ladies are starting to get nice and frosty now. I feel like every day i can see the progress
Anyways, Happy Smoking and i'll keep you posted

Himalaya Gold: 1st grow log (advice appreciated)
 Ahh i finally got ALL the soil i'll need for a while. I had to call a taxi to get it home because it weighed so damn much  It took a long time to transplant everything and i even got some cleaning done in the room, so thats good too. It looks alot nicer in there though i think, kinda more professional in a way. I'll have to remember all this for my next grow. I'm just gonna order EVERYTHING in advance so i'm prepared....but still not bad for my first real committed indoor grow.
Now all i have to do is stay on top of the nutes and i'm in the clear. Well here's some new pics of the room setup as it is now. And of course....some pot porn :D

Himalaya Gold: 1st grow log (advice appreciated)
Hey guys and gals
Ok so they've all been transplanted for a few days now, and i can already see a difference. The leaves are starting to get gradually more green starting from the top and working its way down. They've really starting packing on weight now, and in the process one fell over. Or rather a big bushy one fell over, which in turn knocked another down.....so thats kinda lame. They seem perfectly fine though so i dont mind all too much. Maybe i'll tie them up or something.
I figure i probably have around a month or so left until the big day Very Happy Man i cant wait!!! Its getting so tempting these days. Guess i'll be learning some self control as well Wink
Happy Smokin

Hey everyone.
It just dawned on me that i havent posted any pics of The Church in a while. The pics i showed you last week were Himalaya Gold.
Well, The Church is really starting to bud now. Theyre blowing up :D I think its gonna end up being the star of the crop. Sure Himalaya Gold is supposed to be great too, but The Church has a FANTASTIC smell to her. Its so fruity and minty. Makes my mouth water every time i smell them ;)
Something odd is going on with one of the Himalaya Gold. Its the big one in the picture below. Sure she looks healthy and strong and all that. But the buds are nowhere near as developed as the others and they dont seem to be growing near as fast. Any ideas?
Ok well the first one is Himalaya Gold and the last 3 are of The Church. You can really see how tall Himalaya Gold can get :)

BAD NEWS!!!
I've been wondering for a while what those white-ish spots on the leaves were. I know thats what it looks like when you have some kinda pest or bugs but i couldnt for the life of me find any so i didnt worry about it.
Now i notice that there are more starting to show. In the beginning they were so few and far between that i didnt really care all too much.
So today i checked really closely and i found that i DO in fact have bugs. They're really really small, thats why i didnt see them at first. I have to really look to find them but they're there. On some girls they moved right in. As best i can tell, they look like like tiny winged bugs.
I NEED HELP!! What are these bugs? I took a picture as best i could but they are so tiny that it wasnt very easy. I have no idea what they are....Anyone know? And how worried should i be for these little bugs? Cures? Sorry for all the questions but i really dont want these.
