First grow "Blueberry"... mmmmm
Much appreciated Polasky! In your experience with these plants, how many different pheno's have you encountered in your grows? Seems i have 2 distinct ones here, the short stubbies that are wide as a house and the much taller ones that seem to race to the light. I have read about as many as 3 pheno's showing in peoples grows, all with different tastes and highs... Also, how much did they stretch when you flowered them?
Mornin!!! :rasta:

Umm I don't mean to be a bit argumentive but from what I see in the last pic you can clearly see the little white hair (pistol) on the left branch!
Here is the image of the pistol, I circled it

Hello all. Just a little update for those interested. I have 2 strains in flower right now.(for 3 days) The Dutch Passion Blueberry and an unidentified bag seed.
Got rid of a couple males and waiting for a few stragglers to show sex but it actually looks like I might have gotten at least 6 females out of the 10 blueberries...fingers crossed... The 2 bag seed plants are both females and loving life with a little nutrients. Blueberries get open sesame in a few days.
heres a couple three pics of the bunch. Thanx for looking!!!!

what's the count in the pics, is there 9 plants?
-
First grow "Blueberry"... mmmmm
There are 10 plants in there. I'm trying different setups in lieu of buying more lights.. heh.

LoL it really is....you have direct them down a good path and make sure they don't f**k up:D and if they do you give them a little smack on the ass (fix any problems plant may have) and continue to send them down the path with your TLC and then when they get old enough and mature....YOU PLUCK THOSE BITCHES RIGHT OFF! Then of course being me, I take a sample to quick dry and smoke, but I'm sure that EVERYBODY just about does that!

First grow "Blueberry"... mmmmm
Thats some vigorous growth you got going there!!! With the blueberry strain they say you have to top to reach maximum yield. And it looks like you should have been trimming a little bit more.. especially with the lower branches that don't seem to be getting as much light anyhow.
I think I read that you were putting cfl's on the side though... that would help with the lower branching!! Anyhow hope everything goes well.. it seems like they are growing alot by the day!
-
First grow "Blueberry"... mmmmm
They really do grow like weeds :)
I do have the cfl's on the sides and the lower growth is catching up to the tops. I topped all of them and they are looking good. Found another male and laid him to rest. Some are very stubborn at showing sex but me thinks their next feeding of tiger bloom and open sesame will rectify that. Thank you all for the words of encouragement.
:pimp:
Peace

First grow "Blueberry"... mmmmm
I've found out that the ones that usually take the longest to show the sex are usually females....Well from my experience it ended up that way!!
-
First grow "Blueberry"... mmmmm
Sure hope that's the case cause I'm running out of plants :) 3 males down out of 10 seeds. not so bad ,,,, yet.
-
First grow "Blueberry"... mmmmm
yeah, the males tend to grow bigger faster and show sex earlier (at least in my experience as well).

First grow "Blueberry"... mmmmm
I update alot:) My job gives me a good amount of free time.
Front 2 are unidentified, came from a bag of fairly decent smoke.. hope that with care they will be special
the rest are the DP Blueberry and a poster from a few days ago used the term "mutant cabbage" (rofl) Ain't that the truth! Supposedly these blueberry are crossed with some kind of thai plant?? A friend says that is what the odd behavior of some of the plants is. notice the leaves that stand straight up?!
aggressive plants i guess. You can still see the tip curl on some of the plants i overfed. I flushed them several days ago and most have recovered nicely, cept the one that still shows what looks like nitrogen toxicity. the new growth looks good on it. 6th day of flower and some still show no sex. Only 8 more weeks to go!! roughly :rastasmoke: last pic is my g13x?? mother. Clones from her are showing root bumps and in a few days go to soil.. weeeeeeeeee!
Rock on!

I have gotten 2 different pheno's I can say that I had one in particular that grew much faster than the rest and I think it is what you are referring as racing toward the light, i found the taller to be better on every level. I now use that one for a mother, I have found she gives very consistent yields. Keep the bottom of the plant clean, it likes to try to bud on the lower levels and as you know indoors they are pretty worthless so get rid of them. I also think that the plant responds much better to low stress training than topping. I dont know if topping caused it but when i topped instead of training I got a much smaller harvest. I have found that they work wonderful in cage growing. I warn you they are very sensitive to over feeding. I have seen harvests die in full bloom from people over-nuting them.

Get ready cause the Blueberry is gonna stretch!

You aint lyin, I'll be posting pics in a few. Down to 2 females and one still unknown :( Getting taller for sure.

Thanks for the advice. Already over fed them once and had to flush. I have the fox farm cut in half too! Very slight nute burn with last feeding. I also have 1 female that is growing faster than the rest. clones came off already. Have one still undetermined and thats the one i actually topped (the others I "fim'd). not showing anything 9 days in flower. I'm going to try 1/4 nutes with the foxfarm and see if that keeps them happy. Thanks again Polasky.:smokin:

Bad pics as i am running out of room but....I pulled the tops of the 2 unknown plants over and tied them down, a makeshift late lst, and wow, the sides are growin fast, already caught up to the top. Just trying to get as much light as possible to as much of the plants as possible. The blueberrys are too thick to pull over so i took some of the side branches that needed more light and leaned them out to the sides and tied them. Aiming right for the light and growin fast now. Dunno if that was a waste of time or not. Btw, the plant in the far left is not elevated like the rest of the plants, had to prop them all higher to keep the canopy as even as possible. Couldnt get the light close enough to the smaller ones. :rastasmoke:

Hi there :) Quick update as well as a q for all the experts.
12 days into 12/12 and all are doing well. First pic is a group hug :)
2nd pic is the hold out. This blueberry has no sex. I swear, it's weird. This plant is 7 weeks old, almost 2 weeks into flower and has no signs of any sex! The only one that I topped, btw. Any clue as to the cause of this conundrum?
Third pic is bagseed plants and last one is the most aggressive blueberry. Woot!
Thanx! :pimp:
-
First grow "Blueberry"... mmmmm
Only thing I can say is just give it a little more time and it will show sex....Had a buddy whom plants took about 3 weeks to show.
They are looking magnificent might I add as well!

Thanx Italiano! Trying not to "love em to death" ;)

Much appreciated VanGogh! Thankx for taking the time :)

First grow "Blueberry"... mmmmm
Almost three weeks into flower. I'm soo impatient.
The plant that wasn't showing sex still isn't. Flowering nicely though. If it were a male would it be flowering like the other females?
will post better pics when the lights come on tonight.
Also, it only looks like they need trimming on the inside. I did a little "wild Bill", from silence of the lambs..heh, on some fan leaves to get more light to the flowers.
-
First grow "Blueberry"... mmmmm
I'd be careful cutting too many fan leaves as you may stress and hermie them....Next time do all your trimming before flowering them as to cause the least amount stress on them during their flowering phase! Looking good though I might add!
-
First grow "Blueberry"... mmmmm
Thank you! Doin my best with what I'm learning from all of you. Actually, I'm tucking the fan leaves between stems :) I have trimmed a few, but not many. Tucking is ez enough. Never saw "Silence of the lambs" ? ;)

Yesum, definitely seen SOTL a few times....cut, cut, cut.....lol
Good idea with tucking them to get them out the way as that is a lot easier and less stressful :D

Just a few pics for the curious. Around 22 days into 12/12.. have to look at calender :p
Blues and bagseed. Blueberry on 1.8 ec week 7-8 FF nutes.
bagseed on 6.3 water.. had to flush one of them as hit seemed to hit a wall and stopped growing from a little over zealous feeding. all better now.
pic 1 is family view. hard to tell but there are 5 plants there.
pic 2 is my favorite plant so far. grows fast and vigorously.
The rest are slome close-ups of the buds forming.. thanks for looking!!!!!!:rastasmoke:
p.s. you can see the brown spots in third pic. problem has stopped but it did it's damage.
-
First grow "Blueberry"... mmmmm
There looking nice....how many more weeks till you think you'll be harvesting them? First time grow and got two blues growing at same 21 days into 12/12...looking abit like yours which im happy about but alot smaller than yours.
-
First grow "Blueberry"... mmmmm
Hi Qwerty! I may have let them veg a little too long.........they went 5 weeks in veg before flowering, granted they have grown immensely since then. From what I have read, it's going to be another 5 weeks or so before harvest. I see some bending tops in my future. They are in 5 gallon buckets so they look a little taller than they are but 2 of them are at about 3.5-4 feet including bucket. the third is smaller but i have it propped up for the canopy to be even.
I hope yours grow as big for you! I dunno if it's the nutes or the light. What kind of light are you using? I'm using a 600 watt hps.:smokin:
-
First grow "Blueberry"... mmmmm
wow nice job, they look very nice. Keep up the good work
-
First grow "Blueberry"... mmmmm
Im using 4x 42w cfls and 1x20w cfl...the setups nuthing special but its my first grow so happy that there stil alive. Wish they were as bushy as yours though. i'ma keep checking this thread...hopefully my blues will carry on resembling yours over weeks.
