Wow, not rude at all, thanks for the compliment! To be honest, I am just trying to do the very best I can with what I have, and trying to follow all of the excellent info and advice found here, as well as a few books. But really, just reading other logs, and all the info here has been waaay more informative than any books I have read. Here you get to see the practical application of knowledge which for me is easier to understand than just reading a book, over and over again.
I also did have 1 previous grow under my belt, I made tons and tons of mistakes, so I learned alot from that. Really I am just winging it and trying not to love them too much or make too many mistakes. The seeds are from nirvana, so maybe that helps as far as the plants growing well, other than that I dunno? I just try to keep it simple, and keep everything as consistent as possible. I will post some more pics very soon, maybe tonight. Their growth has surprised me, they are far and away better than the last grom I had, but I am doing almost everything differently too. I do have one, the greencrack, that is seriously runty. I will post a pic of that too.
Thanks again for the compliment! I hope they stay on track! Keep checking in!:D

Thank you sir, you are very kind! Yeah! 800 watts helps for sure! Good ventilation, and good soil don't hurt either! Sprinkle in a little "luck" and wammo! :D I am still no where near the level of knowledge most of you pros have, but I am always reading and learning, some day, some day!

nice setup definately subscribing to this one.. everything is looking real good and im sure itll only get better.
How do you go about making your room light tight and still being able to get into it? From one of your first pictures it looks like its duct taped shut but how do you get in and out?

Well, took alot of pictures tonight while I could.
On the 23rd, I watered in 3 ml/gallon Pro Grow and 1 ml/gallon calmag. Again, just to runoff, barely. 2 days later, still waiting for them to dry, will likely water Saturday, unless they feel lots lighter tomorrow.
I had wondered about some odd leaves, they looked dry, or heat stressed, but I think that I have found the culprit. I think, maybe it's too much direct wind. Sounds weird I know, but the plant that was showing these symptoms was positioned in the back by the socket of the lights, but it was taking the brunt of the forced air intake I have. Until now they have not been tall enough so I haven't had any issues, but I rotated plants, and sure as shit, the new MK I put there started showing the same signs a couple of days later. Has anyone ever heard of this before? I wonder if the wind is causing the leaves to dehydrate or something maybe? Maybe now and maybe it's just something else all together that I am missing. Any input on this would be greatly appreciated!

I'm not sure? could many things...that's the trick, heading off problems......maybe, try off-setting plants some. MH lights are tricky...more than HPS. IMO.
I still think it's too early for both lights.... just my opinion, not advice.
First 30 days....grow roots, leaves can wait.

The picture that you are referring to is my exterior window, I had originally planned on using the area to keep moms and clones, but I don't want to now, it's kinda a pain in the ass to keep sealing it up. Yes, I am a big fan of panda plastic, and duct tape! Here are pictures of my door though, again, panda plastic and duct tape, took a day to get it figured out, but it is light tight! Works really well, and was really simple to do.
I just hung a sheet of pp over the door and frame. Then cut out the middle, (the door part) leaving the plastic around the frame. Then I went back and duct taped the fuck all the way around it except for the side that opens of course. On the hinge, it's taped to the wall and door, and the other side and top is taped to the wall outside the frame. Then went back with a staple gun and stapled it, where you see the cardboard pieces. Putting the cardboard over the pp just help prevent the pp from ripping. On the bottom, I taped pp to the door, and stapled a large piece of cardboard folded @ a 90 degree angle to the door on top of the pp. So when I leave and shut the door, the pp is flush against the bottom crack. Works awesome and is nearly airtight too. I hope that all made sense. Hopefully the pictures will fill in the gaps if it doesn't.

It's amazing how something so simple can be so crucial! I am really proud of my door! Works well, no light in, no light out!

Dutch, I consider your opinion sound advice!:D I just can't help myself running both now that I can. I am for sure probably at a point of diminishing returns when you factor in the cost. I think I will force myself to cut down to one at a time again, it's just so hard to now, it looks soo dark with just one after having them both run. LOL
But the plus is with one, my temps get way down into the 70s (75ish, that's way down for me!):D And now that I think about it, the leaf issue did coincide with when I started running both? So maybe the MK's need a break or are slightly more sensitive than the AI's to the HID.
I know this, I am getting over raising my lights, and fan, every 5 days or so! I know that one of these times I am going to fall my ass over and smash my plants!
Also had to post a pic of my panda plastic make shift drip tray that I made for my makeshift table!

Here are some pics of the green crack compared to my most vigorous MK. The GC came from a batch that I had from a dispensary in Hollywood, the only seed in an 1/8, not that great compared to other GC I have had, but I thought WTF why not try it eh?
Looks good by itself, pretty healthy I guess.

When you go to 12/12...then, you can rock&roll with both lights.
so...tell me ...what's the signal for YOU ...to go to 12/12 flowering cycle?...what's the plan?....you have to be ready in advance.
-

Just some pics of random leaves, 1st two and the last one are from the AI's, the third one is from the MK. Then a pic of my intake blasting away on my MK's.
Dutch, it makes much more sense that my issue would be the lights, since it's affecting the leaves at the top of the plant. I am switching them to one on one off now! Thanks again. Getting input from others is the best, I would have never convinced myself otherwise! LOL:D

Aw, well you know I have a plan!
As far as the plants telling me they are ready, I am looking for alternating nodes and or pre-flowers, BUT, if they get to the point where they are nearing 24 inches tall, I will probably have to flip them regardless, if I don't then I may run out of room by the time they finish. I only have 8 ft ceilings, my table is yaye high, plus the pots, plus the plants, equals, I can't have anything much taller than a 4-5 foot plant is my guess. I will take a couple clones from each as well, so I won't be flowering until I do that! If possible, (not all the AI's are developing side shoots yet, and some may not I think the single cola plant is common in this strain, and I haven't topped any, I just wanted to let them go as naturally as possible this first run), then run the clones, eventually moving them into my hydrohut in another room under a set of t12s to root, and veg. I am thinking that I will be flowering shortly after taking clones, so once I get my males, I will go back and trash my male clones, then start vegging my females to get them ready to flower. Depending on how things go, make a couple moms from a few selected clones, and then throw the rest into flower. Then start fucking around with LST my second round of clones, keeping moms, taking more clones, and so on and so on. I would like to get 3 runs counting this one finished by June next year. Then hang it up for the summer, and start up again next fall. What do you think?:)
Wow, sorry I just reread that, and it is hard to read, forgive me, it's late, and my thoughts are kind of all over the place!:wtf:
-
Master Kush, Aurora Indica Perpetual Grow
if you want your heat way down you should use two cool tubes hooked up together with ducting with a can fan pulling the air right out of the bulb area then simply run ducting out of the room and throw a carbon filter on the end of it all (best if in the attic)to get those smells filtered ... thats how i did it keeps my temp at 78 day / 74 night
-
Master Kush, Aurora Indica Perpetual Grow
Yeah I know. Cool tubes would probably help a little more, I almost got them, but the price difference between those and the euros and the footprint swayed me. It's just a personal thing, but I don't think that they leave as good of a footprint as some other reflectors. I agree though, it would probably get my temps down a few more degrees. I did see someone's grow here where they were using them vertically and surrounding them, (yes they were running 4 1000 watts) that I loved! I would like to do that some day!
I forget that my house thermostat is at 75 sometimes, and the room I am using is consistently at 77 before I converted it, so running 3 to 5 degrees hotter, I should probably not bitch too much about I guess!:D

I stick to basic growing. I don't know how taking clones affects/starting time for 12/12..I assume two weeks later, than normal...(just a guess)(I don't do cloning)
I go to 12/12 when I...1. see preflowers...or ...2. 12-15 inches tall...(5 -8 nodes)...usually around 30 days.
After sex is known...I switch/transplant to 10 inch pots....or (whatever the largest size pots to be used are.)
Back on the subject of two lights for vegging?...another option might be to switch to 18/6. I know ...I'm confusing....:stoned:

If/when I get to clones, I think from what I have read also, 2 weeks is the normal recovery time, so when I get those then yep, 2 weeks later they wil go into flower. You think these could be ready to flower, they are tall, some of this is stretch though from earlier on when I had my lights much higher to compensate for the temps. No preflowers yet on any of them, but I was wondering if they could be flipped nowish, just out of curiosity, not that I am going to.
I was wondering, would playing with lights in veg affect the plants? Switching from 24 hours to 18/6 or even going from running 2 down to 1? I really have no idea? You wouldn't think so huh?

If I had vegging plants that had "heat or light stress" leaves...I would do something...right or wrong.
UV light from MH bulbs is very tricky. (just stick your hand under the light for 5 minutes...then you will feel their pain)

All right! Jeez you are making me feel guilty! :S2:
You are right, I am just going to stick with running one on one off and switch them every day. I know when I was doing that, I didn't have any of this going on, and they were still growing like weeds!
I will probably water again tomorrow or saturday if I can hold off till saturday night I will try to, but some of the pots are already getting a little light. I bet cutting down the light might save on water labor too! As it is now though, I watered last saturday, then again on tuesday night. So I am betting I will probably get to tomorrow. After that though it will be intresting to see if they can go an extra day or two beyond what they have been doing.
I forgot to mention to, as far as flowering in the previous conversation, I will transplant to 3 gallon pots a few weeks prior to flipping them, I hope that will be enough dirt to contain them through flower! Yikes, the big MK is already 15 inches tall! We'll see how that goes I guess, I suspect that may be one thing that throws a kink into this grow. I really hope not though.

Last night I gave them all a good mini-flush with ph 6.7/ 1 drop of st/gallon in, and to my astonishment, it came out at 6.7?! Good to know I guess. I am going to adjust and feed with 6.8 from here on out since it is already creeping downward. They will get the repot before flowering into 3 gallons, so that should help when the time comes.
-
Master Kush, Aurora Indica Perpetual Grow
Note too.
All my MK have cloneable shoots I think. I will be taking 2 from each. I am still waiting on the AIs, so far only 1 has cloneable shoots, the rest are all just branchless spears.
No preflowers on any yet, unless I am missing them. And I may be.
Oh, the lowryder is flowering, 2 out of the 3 were males, they are dead now. :D
-
Master Kush, Aurora Indica Perpetual Grow
Watered last night, 2 cups for each plant, just a very slight runoff, 2ml/gallon cal mag and 2ml/gallon pro grow. They were dry! Sucking up quite a bit of water now.
3 or 4 of my MK are females, the rest are males, and a few haven't shown.
None of my AI are showing, though a few have alternating nodes.
I got 2 clones from each of the MK, (yes the suspected males too, just in case I am wrong.)
They are charging now and I expect them to be fine. No AI clones, a couple could give me a couple, but I also ran out of Rapid Rooters!:D I will probably just try to reveg a mum from AI. Once I am 100% on sex of the MK, I will get rid of the males and pick a mom from the clones, then put the rest into flower with the originals, (whenever they are veg'd a little) This will kinda give me a second harvest here a little sooner. I don't know how long I will veg them, not long. So I guess I will be flowering no later than day 40 veg, but maybe sooner. I only took 2 clones from each MK, so they may be able to recover quickly. We'll see I guess, I don't know how to tell if they are recovered from the cloning? I would like to repot into 3 gallon pots prior to flowering within the next 15 days, would that push out time to flip them, I have never had a problem before transplanting, do they need recovery time after repotting?:wtf:
-
Master Kush, Aurora Indica Perpetual Grow
Ho hum...
Not much going on now. Just rotated them around tonight, looks like I will be watering again either tomorrow or saturday.
Got my clones just trying to root.
Question?
Do any of you re-pot after you start flowering? I would like to flip them as soon as possible, but I would also like them to really fill out there current pots and get repotted to 3 gallons. How far into flower have some of you repotted?

When I start 12/12 flowering, I transplant into the largest pot, that I am going to use...period. JUST as soon as the plants show me some sex. (preflowers). That can be as late as two weeks into flowering/12/12 cycle. IMO. No sense in transplanting males. Off with their heads...

Exactly! The last thing I need or want to do is transplant 13 males and then kill them a week later!
So you don't think it's too big a deal to flip them first, sex them, then transplant them? Surely if I get it done within 2 weeks of flipping them they will do just fine.
Hmm.
I am extremely worried about my AI's, so far none have shown any female pre-flowers, I hope I don't end up with 7 or 8 males out of those! Quite a few of them have what I think are male preflowers, but am not sure yet, whatever they are they are soooo small it's hard to tell. I am really just hoping for 8- 10 females out of the 20 beans so we will see what happens.

All signs of light stress seem to have subsided, since going to one on and one off. I am sure they are much happier!:)
-

it's the luck of the draw...on the sex of a seed....and I "don't cotton" to fem seeds.
grow you own seeds, soon. Then plant twice as many seeds. You have found out, it don't take much light for VEGGING.
-
Master Kush, Aurora Indica Perpetual Grow
That ain't no kidding!
Got myself a couple t12s to keep clones under, once they are rooted of course. Once I flip these to flower, and switch bulbs, I may not use those MHs again for a while. At least they are still in good shape I guess, and will be good backups in case of emergency.
All right. I am going to figure out the best on/off times for my schedule, get the bulbs swapped and get on with it.:) My lowryder will love it.

Master Kush, Aurora Indica Perpetual Grow
All righty, we are all set.
The first offical night will come tomorrow morning @ 9. I will be up @ 8 to wait for the sunset. Just swapped bulbs today, double, triple checked for light leaks. Got my bottle of reverse out and ready. I will probably water tonight, give them all a good shot of pro grow, liquid karma, cal mag, and that should do it. I may leave out the liquid karma though.
Clones are staying moist in the dome.
So the first offical day of flowering will be tomorrow @ 9 pm.
So this is the end of the veg.
I can't believe I only veg'd for 27 days. Holy cow, I expected to veg for 45 days. We will see how it all ends up. My goals for the end of this round, 1. Find and establish a few good mothers, 1 or 2 of each strain if possible. 2. Finish with some smokeables. 3. Smoke them.:D
-
Master Kush, Aurora Indica Perpetual Grow
Well, here we go.
NOthing really happening, just hit everyone with some reverse tonight as per the instructions on the bottle. I will follow up with the Day 10 application as well.
No picture today, feeling lazy, they all look the same as last time, just slightly bigger.
Now just sit back and count how many ladies I am going to get out of this. I know I have 3 MK, that's all I can tell for sure as of now.
Clones are chillin', on top of my direct tv reciever. I am sure they are fine, just misted the dome once today, gave the rapid rooters a small squirt, they didn't need it. It's awesome how much moisture those things retain. I am sure the plants are dry from their "reverse" shower. It says on the bottle to spray to runoff. I sprayed them all well. They were pretty much dry before I left the room, but I wanted to let my ballasts cool down before I fired them up again.
As far as feeding, I plan to continue the pro grow for at least the next 10 days, or until I can sex, and repot which will also be about 10 to 14 days ish.
Cross your fingers for me and pray for girls please!

:D
Follow up here, I did water with 3ml/gallon progrow, 2ml/gallon cal/mag and 1ml/gallon of LK. Ph'd it at 6.8, it was at about 350ppm I think, that sounds like it rings a bell. I know I don't really need to know the ppm for the soil, but I have the pen and it's just sitting there, so why not?:D I can tell the soil is starting to go down ph wise, but I think it will be fine for a few more weeks until I can repot. I will probably switch to flower nutes in a couple weeks.
I need to get down to the hydro store and really look at the sweet and the other one that is for bud enhancing. I think if all is going well I will try to use these products as well. Any tips or advice?
-
Master Kush, Aurora Indica Perpetual Grow
Well, nothing eventful happening. I am going to water tonight with just plain ph'd ro h2o @ 6.8 w/ 1 drop per gallon of super thrive and 2 ml/gallon of cal mag.
I have peeked in on them twice and do have some MK ladies, but still not sure about the AI.:(
Lowryder MI is flowering, I guess.
Turned off the central air yesterday, oops.
Left the lid off my clone dome for about 8 hours today, oops.
I will try to get some photos soon, when I feel like it, I guess.
Still waiting on Day 10 flower, 2nd dose of reverse, hopefully I will have some for sure males weeded out by then too. As soon as I get them sexed they will be repotted right away. That's about the next big event coming down the pipe, aside from crying over my clones that I will loose soon maybe.
DAMN IT!

Oh I dunno maybe a 1.
I really haven't messed with the lowryder too much, I couldn't even see those baby trichs until I looked at the picture!
The rest are still wondering why the fuck it keeps getting dark and why everything is yellowish orangeish all the sudden.
Lost 2 of my clones in the meantime, just wilted over and died on me, no doubt from my stupidly leaving the dome off all day yesterday! The rest still going strong though. I hope my females make it!
