What's the most ignorant, stupid comment you've ever heard about weed?

Sure, accidents can happen on weed, but that's true of any intoxicating substance. It's up to the taker of the drug to make sure they don't do any dangerous activities like operating heavy machinery or leaving a pan of frying eggs if they're likely to forget about them. You can't blame that on the drug any more than you can blame a hanging on the noose.

I understand all that. When I first started smoking the stuff I certainly was'nt on the understanding that it would become a very big part of my life, It somehow becomes the most important pocession you have and everytime you make a deal your ordering your next batch.

I'm not trying to discredit you in any way, but I think it's worth mentioning my dad, who's been a pretty regular smoker since he was a junior in college--he's told this to me.

He's gone on abrupt stretches of abstinence after years of smoking every day--some of these periods include the first few years of my life and my sister's.

His memory and mind are clearly non-fucked. You'd never know he's a smoker unless he told you. I know I didn't.

I'm just saying, drugs affect everyone differently. I've no doubt there are others like you, but there are also folks like myself and my dad--folks who don't leave the eggs frying, no matter how stoned we are.

Don't get me wrong, I don't advertise to people that I'm a smoker, I have a good job where I am relied on, I'm very active and I also care about people and believe in telling the truth about my experience, that does'nt stop me from smoking the stuff though. Ending on a positive note, my eye sight has improved, I see many things that others just don't see, I suppose I should call this a gift from the earth.

It is the complete text of the book. You go always go to a library or barnes and noble to take a look at the other half which contains images and source articles.

If it had a filter, she really wasant getting the full hit of it. ANd i would like to point uot now that i am fully against giving peopel drugs without realising it. And in answer to your other posts (i really can remember fully, drunk, straqngely enough :confused: ) Yes cannabis is addictive, but in the sense that we all love the effect it gives, peopel should admit that there addicted to the pleasyre from it. After a long time thinknig i no longer concider cannabis a drug but more of a way of life, it doesent destroy your life (unless you let it) but it can become a big aprt of it, but thats not nesecelarly (sp?) a bad thing.

I smoked since I was 13 at 30 I went back to school, got a masters degree and was valedictorian. I still smoke daily and the only bad effect are on the lungs, at least for me.By the way I am 46 now

The fire incident happened about 10 years ago and I learned a big lesson, and that's that I don't go frying eggs whilst stoned. Lets face it I,m twenty years older and I don't know everything.

I can appreciate your point of view, but must add my own spin, if you don't mind.

I started smoking reefer in '68; I remember the first experience like it was last month, very enjoyable. Soon found out about the effects of being easily sidetracked as you mentioned in the telling of your fire incident. I liken it to learning to drive a standard transmission car; at first it takes all your attention, and you're still not so good at it. Eventually you get to the point where it's almost a reflex; you can pull away from a traffic light, uphill, while unwrapping a stick of gum, talking with the passenger next to you, and admiring the legs of a girl in a miniskirt walking on the sidewalk, always in full control of the car. Getting stoned is something like that. You find out what the effects are, and then compensate by whatever means are necessary to keep you fully functional. Just realizing your mind might wander is half the battle; you allocate your resources accordingly, and control your impulses to do too many things at one time. It doesn't take too long to understand that the thing has its place, and don't let yourself be impaired while doing anything that'll require more concentration than you expect to have when stoned. Driving is something I don't do, as is operating a milling machine, a lawn mower, doing my taxes, etc. It comes down to good judgement, and a sensible person usually has enough to get by.

Not saying you're wrong about all this, just offering my opinion.

So, first I had to get that off my chest.

Just the day before yesterday, one of the most ignorant things I heard was from a co-worker; a self professed substance abuse expert, and psychological counselor, no less. He informed me that cannabis goes out of your system in one day, so nobody should worry too much about the random quarter annual testing we have to endure where I work. Since the guy's a putz anyway, and I secretly hoped he'd be tested and fired, on the basis of his own ignorance, I kept my mouth shut and nodded as if I were being told some great truth I wasn't aware of. But he's getting fired at the end of the month anyway, for incompetence though, not anything substance related. He just doesn't know it yet.

Can't remember who said it, sorry :D . I wouldn't say it's addictive. If I don't have weed, it's not like I pull my hair out in desperation and get ratty at everyone. If I want to get drunk, I will. If I want to get high, I will. Is there any difference?

I was sitting in spanish class one day pretty high and eatin some snacks when the teacher starts to talk about how this huge meth bust had just happened a couple hours ago. This "jock, dumb piece of shit" says, "Is meth worse than weed?" At this point, I continued to eat my oreos and look at him in disgust.

As for the slipping people drugs while they're unaware, I know some girl who was given a "piece of candy." The girl who gave it to her seemed to forget to tell her that it had acid on it though. Imagine how scared she must have been, would have thought she was goin crazy or some shit.

Side note:

Our jazz groups are always pretty fun, and it's no secret to our teacher that we smoke. He hates to see me doing acid, but tells me to do shrooms instead. He told me that if he finds out I've dropped acid again, he's calling my dad. Now there's a good teacher.

Anyway, one time our best sax guy brought in some cookies. We gave them to this funky yet straight-edge kid named Pat Waldeck, but we call him Waldo. After he ate a cookie, we told him there was acid on the cookies and that he would be tripping out in about a half hour. We let him in on the ruse before the half hour was up, of course--didn't want him freaking out in class. But he was freaking out enough already.
