wow haha i would keep it. A couple of years ago i found a nice glass pipe when i went to Canada, it was just sitting there so i picked it up cleaned it and i was set:)

if there was no one else around then I'd grab it. I wouldn't want to take something if the owner was like right around there. I'd definitely boil it or clean it with alcohol and salt. I mean the whole germ thing doesn't really bother me too much because how many times do you pass around a pipe with your friends? I'm sure your pipes are probably just as nasty and germ filled as any other pipe, although there's no telling what else has been smoked through the pipe so just to be on the safe side/get rid of that nasty resin taste i'd clean it up a bit.

i'd take it, clean it real well, and use it :D

A friend of mine found a glass bowl lying in the middle of the street one day (not even on the grass, but like the middle of the road) in his neighborhood and it was in really good condition and everything so he just took back to his house and cleaned it, and BAM!, brand-new bowl to add to the collection. :)

I would just say use your own judgement. If it looks totally nasty, then it probably is, but I'd say still clean it for sanitation's sake.

.....and I smoke resin. I mean it's def. not my first choice, but when I'm just totally out and I need the little pick-me-up, it can come in handy.

But that's coming from a broke bitch. :D

I would have left it there. If it were a spectacularly cool pipe and no one was looking I might take it home, clean it up thoroughly and use it, but I'd never smoke the mystery resin. Not only is that a bit icky, it's dangerous. What you don't know can indeed hurt you.

I may pick up the pipe if I found it attractive, but I'd clean it very, very, well eg soak in iso for a week, scrub, standard 2x2x2 water/bleach/water, then out into the sun for UV to finish off. Even then I probably wouldn't be able to use it, call it nurse's paranoia.

It might just be grotty smoking remains or something nastier left as a prank on anyone stupid enough to smoke it. I worked with a guy in a city forensic psych unit who did that sort of thing for kicks. I'm sure there are more who haven't been locked up as 'criminally insane', thus I am wary of things I find in parks, bus shelters and public phone boxes.

-who knows what it was used for
-who knows who smoked it
-I don't potentially want gono-sifi-herpal-aids
-chance of getting busted for something that isn't yours

if it was an 100AUD no problem, our money is made of plastic ~ easy to clean, still wouldn't smoke it or use it to brush my teeth though.

I picked up a bag of weed once, that someone had dropped, and smoked it. It wasn't much in terms of quality or quantity, but I took the risk and had no problems. I wouldn't do that today, as it was kind of reckless.

I wouldn't pick up a pipe. I don't use them anymore anyway, since getting a vaporizer.

I once found a 50 dollar bill in the NYC Lexington Avenue subway station. It was folded into a geometric, triangular shape. I sure as hell picked that up! My wife and I found two dollars on the sidewalk this past Saturday, that somebody had just lost. We took it.

I really can't understand the logic that would make anyone think smoking mystery resin is a good idea
