Newbie Hydroponic/CFL system

Yeah you have much bigger growers than I but I like my waterfarms for the whole space saver reason. I am using a 400 watt Hps with a remote ballast which sits outside my grow tent. I got it with the bulb and reflector for around 180 u.s. dollars from htgsupply.com. I wish I had gotten the mh/hps with reflector combo from them instead since it is around the same price. That way I can use the metal halide for veg and the hps for flower or vice versa.. don't remember. Lighting definitely makes all the difference on the yield tho. So... if you are going to get a hid lamp setup... go with the combo lamp set if you can! Cannot go wrong with that. You can interchange the bulbs and get some kickass grow for sure. I will get that lamp set later on but my hps works great overall for all stages. Its really no big deal I guess now since many hydro shops carry an hps bulb which are specially designed to ouput more blue and red than regular old hps bulbs. I get my replacement bulbs for around 39 bucks after shipping and all. You will do badass with a hid bulb for sure! :thumbsup:

Right on, thanks. I will probably get an Hps for my next grow. Maybe veg with my cf bulbs i have now, then use HPS for flowering.

It's been 2 weeks since i have posted. I was out of town for a few days, my buddy was watching my babies for me when i was gone. I made once small update to the grow room. I added mylar to every wall, even on back of the door. It made a big difference in my closet. The original paint was sort off off-white baige.

The flash on the camera reflects on the mylar so much the pics might be a little hard to see.

Maaaan Bro, I forgot all about your thread 'til now. All I can say is that your girls look absolutely DELICIOUS!!!! You are a lucky bastard....LOL. I ended up with only 1 female and she is in her second week of bloom. I will be using the KoolBloom powder myself so we can kinda share the whole bloom experience :thumbsup:. You are doing amazing for your first cfl grow. My first grow I ended up with 1 female again and I got about 3 oz. off of her and she lasted a while since the hydro seemed to hit harder than the 'ole soil grow. I don't care what anyone says... the hydro grows are waaaay better imo. Check out my grow thread as well. I have been growing right along with ya!

Hey sap & hatch thanks for the replies.They have been flowering for 36 days now. I started kool bloom about 3.5 weeks into flowering and will keep using it untill i flush.

is the power grow eco the pretty much the same thing as a DWC?

I'm back a few months late. My house got robbed a few days after my last post, they took mostly electronics, my computer and camera and tv.... My plants and equipment are in double locked closet it was all ok. I'm pissed I don't have any new pics for u. All my product is long gone into my lungs. Thank you to everyone who helped me out!

Results--- 5oz of good dried and cured nuggies, and about 20 grams of pop corn nuggz that I just rolled into 20 1gm joints.

Any questions I will be happy to answer.

My next grow is gonna be a hydro SOG grow.. Look for it around march or April.

and im thinking about starting on my first grow
my grow room is small so im only going for one plant for now
my space is 2x2 and the height is 5.3
so far what im thinking about getting is a power grower eco
a 600watt light not sure if should go with a hps bulb or a mh bulb
a hydrofarm reflector
any advice and tips to improve the yield would be awesome

In that small a space heat is your enemy. Maybe a 400 holtilux blue bulb. They are new and can do veg and flower with same bulb. Make sure you have vents and A/C to cool it down. 2x2 I could get 2 ten gallon tubs in there with 4 or 6 plants in each one, maybe veg to 16 to 18 inches then the plants end up about 3 feet plus the tub.

yeah that what i was thinking heat is gonna be the biggest problem
my grow space is a closet which seem the easiest for me
i could control the light and its the only free space i have at the moment
I'm guessing just a fan won't be enough in this small space
so i was hoping if anyone could be so kind to give me some advice
on how to cool down the temp
and also do you need to have a co2 tank for just one plant?
or could i just spray water on the plant to makeup for the co2?

Don't spray water on plants with Hps or MH lights. It causes burns.

Please be carefull with the C02 in a people living area. CO2 is heavier than air and can fill up a room and will drowned you. You never see or know it's there. If you have plenty of ventilation no need of co2. You could run higher temps with co2 but then you need an ice probe or chiller to keep water temps down.

Not knowing what you have. You need an A/C vent going in low in the closet and a hot air vent going out the top of the closet.

You sir have lied to us, you are not a noobie, lol. Those plants look amazing, I can only hope my set-up works like yours did.
