The heady/mental high followed by a crash is most likely because you took them at still a high % clear. Try letting them go all cloudy- that crash might remind you of the Beasters crash, whcih is EXACTLY that.
For purple colors in purple strains, check out SnowStorm aka PurpleMaxx. If a plant CAN turn purple, the hormone (kelp-derived) will maximize the purple coloration.
Your plants look very very healthy and to be yielding really well. I've always thought the Soma Lavender was beautiful, and your cross looks great.

thanks for the look Ms Attic and all others, i knew taking her early was wrong, but i am a medical grower, and i had to thin out my garden as i can only have a certain number in flower. So when they all started to flower, the early flowering plants that were revedging and would yeild less had to go. I was only able to really salvage three (to smoke), the others tho i am drying to possibly make some kinda canna butter out of, or something along that line.
again, thank you to all who come by and comment or just look.
...and Ms Attic, is this stuff Kelp-derived hormone the name of a hormone product? would this be available at like a hydro shop? the plant really does have light purple calyx tho dark would be way cool.....i know when i harvest i will have cool weather and that will turn them purple some, but i would much rather have a dark purple from natural means. I have not yet seen this plant when it went to full ripeness.
find below of a pic of the plant that was one who was put out early and was the ABSOLUTE first seed to pop last winter. i just couldnt sacrafice her she is so beauitful. tho i did take some of her before she started to revedge. She never wholy revedged. You can see three different stages of flower on her...is way cool plant to me. My avatar is when she was first flowering.:D

The product used to be called Stacker and then Purple Maxx and is now sold under the name SnowStorm. It's a Humbolt nutes product (same company that makes Gravity). You can get it at a grow shop no probs, and I have to say I really like it as a foliar.

Thank you for the info Ms Attic, i read that sentence over and over in your first post, thot you were refering to a MJ strain. I will look into getting some. :hippy: The Humbolt folks prolly got lots of access to seaweed...lol.

The three oldest plants that were started from seed, they started to flower on July 26. They will be flowering one month on the 26, five days. They are putting on some weight already. One of the plants (Purps) looks like the weight is making the plant look bigger around than it did.
The plants that are refered to as the "new clones" started bout a week later. August 2nd.
They are all getting bloom nutes now. Age old bloom now (also a fox farm product i cant remember the name of), and Cha Ching later.
I got the kelp hormone mentioned above. The instructions say use it in the last three weeks. So......that means prolly at least three weeks from now. I am thinking the oldest plants will come ready the end of September or early October.

Last evening, two bucks came into view from my upstairs window. I shot maybe fifty pictures of them. Due to the glare from the window they did not come out well. Find below one of the Bucks.
Also Find below,
1. Amethyst+NorthernLights (the bud on the left is over three inches thick)
2. Amethyst+NorthernLights (Monster, one of the plants put out early, almost 4 weeks into flower)
3. "New Clone" 3 weeks into flower
4. LST clone, 3 weeks into flower
5. 4 point Buck and Spike (spike wanted my cherry tomatoes and was shooo'd away)
I also re-read the new Snow Storm Nutes and i was wrong, i can give this stuff to them now in early flower too. It also implys that the regular nutrients will be taken up by the roots better using this stuff. I am all for that.

I am heading out to give the girls their first dose of this new Purple Max Snow Storm nutes. The directions indicate i should decrease my normal nutes to 1/3. I am just going to use this on two plants first. Two of the "new clones" are gonna get the experimental doses (call them new clone 1 and 2, as that is their standing in the garden). If they do well, i will do the other "new clones". The oldest plants wont get any at all. Everyone out there is getting a dose of "Cha Ching" by Fox Farms tonight. Of course the girls who get the Purple Max will get 1/3 their normal dose. The bottle says to watch for nute burn, because the Purple Max makes the nutes get taken up better than without. We will see. I am currently experiencing major yellowing of my fan leaves. The partner says this is normal. The leaves around the buds are staying a nice dark green.
Wish me luck with this new stuff.....it will be interesting.
(bottle also indicates that leaves also may turn purple!)
Also on a side note, noticed yesterday the plants are putting on a light frost of trichs! And, the Tuffy plant that is a Amethyst cross Northernlights has purple on the leaves of the buds. Looks awesome. :hippy:

1. Amethyst+NorthernLights, to be harvested this week
2. LST
3-4.Purps clones bud
5. Amethyst+NorthernLights bud, same plant as #1.
The temps here in the afternoon have been hitting 105-108 this week. The aroma of the garden gets real strong in the afternoon. The buds look to be packing on the Trichs. I see no difference yet with the two I put the Purple Max on yet. Tho one seems to be putting on more trichs. She gets an late afternoon shade tho, where the others dont.

I had my daughter up for the Labor day week end and found her to be a very accomplished bud trimmer. She told me stories of making cash in High School trimming bud for her friends parents. Now I hear of this over ten years later. Some things you just dont want/need to know as a parent. :hippy:
We cut her down early in the morning, and I am still enjoying her aroma each time I come into the house.

Four Weeks today in Flower
picture 1 and 2
3 is 5 weeks
1. Mango - i think as this plant is totally different than the purps. I took some clones from my mango back when i cloned and now am convinced they were mixed up, as this plant has all the charactoristics of the original mango plant.
2.-3. Purps
4. Amethyst x NorthernLights (monster) This is the only one out of three (now two) that shows the characteristics of the NorthernLights plant. Thick hard buds with very long white bud hairs (Pistles?)

1. Garden today 9/3/08
2. Garden one month ago 8/2/08
I added the mollassas to the 1/3 strength nutes (ChaChing) and the Purple Max to all of the plants last evening. The Purple Max i have used only on two plants and it seems one of them is putting on more size and trichs than the other. So i decided to use it on all the plants.

i do have spidermites on two of my plants. Clones i bought last spring. But since they are outside and not touching any other plants i am not trying to get rid of them like i was when they were inside. Unfortuately they are my potentially most potent strain. I am not sure how i will feel smoking spider mites. But being that i have been smoking outdoor weed my whole life, i prolly smoked my share of bugs.
After reading Sky's thread on bud rot tho, i did have some of that on the plant i harvested last weekend. I had noticed that near the main stalk there was a dried looking area, i just thot it was old plant material from when the plant revedged. But, there was also white fiberous material in there on a buds leaf. This i didnt see untill we had her cut down. tho i did see some white stuff, almost like large eggs while she was still standing. Looking under the micro, they look fiborous and not like any eggs i had ever seen before. i am gonna be checking my older plants real careful now. I have two that are like missils, real tight buds, in long stalks.
I have got to get him to quit spraying the plants in the evening...the ash is gone now.

1. Purps, "new clone", 5 wks
2. close up of Purps bud, "new clone", 5 wks
3. Buds of my attempt at LST, 5 wks, the worst in the garden for leaf loss.
4. Mango, revedged, 6 wks, noticed some pink in the pistles one day and cant find it the next.
5. Amethyst x Northernlights, 6 wks, Plant looks very much like true Nothernlights, thick heavy buds, green calix and thick white pistles that are browning some. This is the sister plant to the Purple bud harvested in above post.
Still loosing a lot of leaves to yellowing. I cant tell if the buds are bulking up on the "new clones". I am out there every day picking dried leaves off them. Tho, the SugarGrandaddyPurple dont seem to be loosing leaves like the bigger plants. I am trying to cut back on water and let them dry out more between watering. The temps here are consistantly hitting over 100f daily, night around 50f.
They are getting molassas every other day and ChaChing at third strength and the Purple Max hormones weekly.

wow, looking really good! the purple looks amazing. with the yellowing leaves, i was told this is normal toward the maturing stage, and i have also been picking dry, dead leaves off all my plants daily, so i think its a normal thing.
lets compare crops, when we're both done? probably going to be finishing within a week or two of eachother.

Thanks for coming by and taking a look.
We could compare if you like.....i have one that looks like a northernLights, she is pictured above.
All Girls got ChaChing last night at half strength, and Purple Max at 1/2 teaspoon per gallon (see no purpling on leaves, the dark purple on the oldest amethyst bud is really dark). Also added in the molassas, at 1 Tablespoon per gallon. Next feeding they will get Dr. Hornby's Big Bud (last two weeks of feeding for the older plants). This is 0-40-10, I think, if i remember right.
Seems like the oldest Purps (from seed) bud is not getting bigger. Seems like the Purps clones bud have caught up with her in size. :hippy:

i'm just wondering..u have these planted in the ground, correct? and did they start in a bucket and u move them to ground for flowering? cuz i just had a big fail with rootbound plants and going hermie or w/e sorry im nooby grower it was my first time but it wasn't quite a success lol

The plants are all in containers. Some the regular ones you get from nurseries (15 gal, I think, that trees come in). There are three in very large pots, I would say 25 gallons or so (from Home Depot). Then I have two in big Hydro pots I got from the Hydro store, actually have three but only using two now. Where I am, I dont have good top soil and if I dig into the ground where it is flat out there, I am pretty sure I will hit my septic tank or leach feild and the husband says that is a big no no. So, for now, pots it is. Been thinking bout a raised bed system....just thinking now. Oh, and I also used mostly OceanForest soil with some HappyFrog added in, some plants also have mushroom compost too.
As for root bound, I am sure they are quite crowded. I see their roots on top when I water. I feed these plants every week, so I never considered that being root bound would be a problem. The three biggest plants have actually been in the same pot since April and they were six inches or so. If they were in the ground, they would be at least twice their size or more.
Thanks for looking in on my grow. :hippy:
Last year, was my first serious year growing (have grown one plant a year for a few years but not serious like now) and I didnt do to well at all, tho I finished the year out with a few ounces. But I did learn alot about revedging and harvesting/curing. This year, I am hoping for 3 pounds, but am pretty sure I wont get it.

5 gallons should be plenty! i dont think it was a rootbound problem that caused it to go hermie. do you have a thread with this plant? or at least pictures to start a thread? im kinda interested now

1 - 2 Amethyst x NorthernLights
3 - 4 Purps
5. Sea of Purps
The only thing out there happening right now....
IS the Leaves are drying up and falling off. At least they are not doing it all in one day. Hopefully there will be some leaves left when harvest comes around.

Due to certain circumstances beyond my control, I will be harvesting three plants this week. :hippy:
1. a Purps, "new clone" (done today, pics below)
2. an unknown, i thot was a purps, but it looks different.
3. a sugar grandaddy purple, the smallest.
All three have cloudy trichs, but I am sure they are early.
