Got the light today, and its the perfect shape. I think its gonna work well. I think I'm gonna use the every-other pattern for the bulbs. (8,000 lumen) I think it will be the most even for 4 plants.
All right, your ready to start Germinating some Seed's!!!!
Good Luck On Your First Grow My Brother!!!!!!
:pimp::pimp::pimp::pimp::pimp:
AH, I think I got them at Lowe's. I can't remember exactly how much the Riser's were, When I get stuff I usaully Buy abunch of them. Sorry, Maybe Av8tor can tell Ya?, He just Bought all His stuff.
A.1)- I run the pump's for 15min. 5 to 6 time's a day. You can watch Your Plant's, they will tell You if to much water or not enough. I like the plug's to get soaked, Then have time to air-out. You don't want them to dry out, but stay moist.Quote:

A.3)- Yes, Aerateing the Res. is a Big Must. Stagnant water can be toxic for Your Plant.
And Hey, ask anything Your not clear on!!! That's why I'm here.
Good Luck Bro!!!!! Sound's like You have a good Plan!`:pimp:

Hey, MarquisBlack, yes I got my risers(come in 3 packs) and spray heads(come in 5 packs) at Lowes they are cheaper than you think. Ya I'm using a 14 gal Res. and it works fine with the pump in there. I got my pump on ebay and got a 1500 gph pump for $60 and it works perfect.
FYI Dont buy the expensive risers buy the riser extensions, thats what I bought and they work great. I used a dremel tool to make my holes and they fit perfectly (I didn't even need to glue them in)
Hope that Helps...
I use 1/8" drill bit, then chase it with 1/8" tap, They srcew right in. A 3/32 sec. drill & tap work good to.
Only thing you should have to glue is the PVC fittings. everything else should screw together.
so i am a newbie when it comes to aero but i have done one complete grow in my system and countless grows in soils so my questions go something like this, you said you turn our pump on 5-6 times a day for 15 minutes what about at night do u find you need less waterings and could u increase that time or do the plants not like to much? do u use a rez chiller if so which one? it seems like mine is staying to warm. what maintenance do u do to your rez on a monthly basis. i am just trying to get an idea of why things went they way they did last round. thanks for taking the time.
OK, First Welcome, & Thank's For Hanging Out!!!Quote:

No I don't use a chiller. My res's are under the Grow Chamber's in the Dark & stay in the 60's.
I clean out the res's ounce a week, & add fresh water & nut's.
Hope that this might help & ask more question's if you need to, That's why I'm Here.:pimp:
:pimp::pimp::pimp::pimp::pimp:
Hatch,
What size net pots are you using? 2" or 3"?
Is 3" big enough for the mothers. I have to go to Lowes today to see if I can find a 3/4" X fitting for the system. I had to modify it a little because They did not carry the X fittings where I went, but I still need at least 1 for right in the middle.
I'll see if I can get a pic to show you what I have so far.
One other question while I think of it. Does the chamber where the roots hang need to be completely dark? I got a gray bin and I think it will allow light at the roots.

McDanger, Say I'm Still Going To Get You Some Pic's, & Method Of My Cloning, When I Have A Open Site, All Hole's Are Filled With Clones!!!!...........Ain't That A Hell Of A Problem?????:pimp::pimp::pimp:
do you think it's possible to have the rubbermaid be the reservoir meaning just have one of them. and to get the water up, have a floating fogger?? i like your set up though, i've been wanting to do a set up like this for a while but never really had the place to do it so i think i'll do a small 2 or three plant set up in a closet and see how it goes. But please let me know if you feel a floating fogger would work
GG23
Hey Bro What's UP???........Ok, Your going To Have to inlight'n Me on what a Floating Fogger Is????.........But Ya 1 RubberMaid, Will Work, That's Like My Bubbler's I Use For Cloning. One Of the Downfall's is, Alway's Having To Remove the Lid To Get to the Res..But You Can Make It Work. If You have the Head Room, You can do what Av8tor is doing, He is Staking them, with the Res. on the Bottom. I'll Show You Some Pic.'s.Quote:

Hatch,
Well, I finally got my pump so the system is running now, but I stuck my hand into the res to check the level and get a ph check, man is it HOT. I just put some ice packs in it for now. Temp in cabinet is 90, I will be getting a duct fan today to use for exhaust, intake is passive.
I like the way the misters in these pics are right on the pvc instead of on risers. I may change mine to this way. I had to change from the 360 to the 180 misters, the little spinners on the 360's didn't work right, the 180's work great. I just aim them at the walls so I get splash to cover the entire tub. My clones are not looking good, they are 2days old, we'll see if they make it.
McDanger, Look's Like You Have A Great Start!!!..........Say The Reason I Use The Riser's, Is When The Root's Get Established The Mist Comes From The Top, & The Root's Don't Get In The Way Of The Mister's. Hope that work's For You???
Ya, You Need to Get The Temp's Down In The Grow Room. That Is The Reason I Have My Res.'s Under A SubFloor, So They Aren't In The Heat.
I More Thing, You Might Want To Raise The Light Over The Clone's, Those CFL's Do Put Off Some Heat, Then You Can Lower Them Back After They Have Rooted In About 10 Day's.
Well, You Are Under Way, Great Job, & Good Luck With You Growing Career!!!!!!:D:pimp::pimp::pimp::pimp:
I turned the cfl's that were over the clones off. There is 1 transplant in there that I have the cfl over.
otherwise there is just 3)40watt tubes in the corners vertical.
I may need to enlarge the cabinet so I can get the res out of the heat, But I think it is my pump that is heating the res.
It is not as hot in there today after I added a 250cfh duct fan for exhaust. i will try to get some readings on the res temp before and after the pump runs.
Sound's Good Bro, Ya, I've heard that some people's pump's make there res. hot. But they run the pump's 24/7, My res.'s are at least 20gallon's, & I have never had this problem!!!
It would be real easy to throw a subfloor in Your Cabinet, Put some block's on the wall's, & cut a piece of plywood or something, drill some hole's for the drain, & PVC inlet.
Keep working on it Bro, Hell Rome wasn't Biult in a Day?????:pimp::pimp::pimp::pimp::pimp:
Hey Hatch,
I had to move things around. The cabinet is in the garage and it is just too hot in there. With just the lights in the cab and a 250 cfm duct fan I can keep it in the 80's, but if I put the system in there and run the pump the res gets up to 110.
I moved the system to a room I have in the basement and the res stays right around 70 so I moved it there and put the plants I had there into the cab(they are in dirt.) they seem to be ok with it after 1day so far. I'll keep an eye on it, but everything seems fine for now.
Sound's like the basement is your best bet. WOW, I have never heard of a pump getting the water that hot!!!!!!In the 70's will work good for Ya. is there any way You can Duct in A/C to the Cabinet????......That's the only way I can keep My Temp's down!!!!...Sound's Like You are still Needing More air Movement????Keep Working On It, & Adding Thing's, It will finally Come around!! Good luck, & Get To Work!!!!!:pimp::pimp::pimp::pimp::pimp:Quote:

I don't want to stick the money into it right now and I have the room in the basement for this grow.
It will still be an aero grow with the clones.
Ya, Starting In The 90's, WOW, Ya Way To Hot!!!!.........That's Alittle Hot For The Moma's Or Clone's????!!!.......Man Bro, Thing's Aren't Looking Very Promising, Maybe You Just Need To Keep Working On Getting Thing's Together, & In Place, & Give It A Nother Try On A Later Date, When You Are More Prepared?????Quote:

Thanks for the reply, i set my timmers for 16 on and 8 off, and there about 7in tall now. when should i switch my cycle to 12/12? will the two 400w HPS that i have be enough light for them? and one more question, im using all of the nutes that you have listed and the same amount, what on average is your yeild for the 8 plants? thanks agian, and ill try to get a few pics of my set up, up.

Alright About Yeild's,,A Clone Should Make 14g. Dried & Go Up From There,,I Have Had Some With No Veg.,, 70 To 80 Day's Flower Yeild 30+g. Dried,,,,& Have Had Plant's That Were Veg'ed 30 Day's,,Them Flowered 70 To 80 Day's Yeild 128 +g. Dried...So With Alittle Skill 8-Plant's,,,You Should Get No Veg. Straight Flip 12/12 150+g. Dried Total...& Go Up From There Depending On How Long You Veg......
Ok, Ya That Would Be Great For You To Get Some Pic's Up,,,,,I Have A Question To You,,What Kind Of Water Pump & Ect. Are You Running????
im using a Quiet One Model 4000 it pumps a little over 1000gph, i tried a 500gph pump and it just wasnt enpugh pressure for the 7 sprayers i had at the time. now i have 8 sprayers, you'll see why when i get some pics up(was a little stoned during construction). im using 6 320s sprayers and 2 180s and it works great.
Alright, That's Good,,,I Have Changed Up My Feeding Schedule,,Like When The Light Are On,,I Have Been Setting The Pump To Come On For A Hour/ Then Off A Hour,,,Just While The Light's Are On,,Then When The Light Are Off It Come's On Every Four Hours,,,,I Have Been Having Real Good Result's With This Schedule...Ya, Hurry Up Already & Get Some Pic's Up!!!!:pimp::pimp::pimp:Quote:

Hatch, have you tried the fogger heads?
07-044 - DIG EXL Fogger with Barb - .8 GPH
Hatch,
So glad I finally thought to type "fogger" into the search bar instead of just "cloning", aeroponics, and so on.
Cause I got a 700gph pump and was rethinking it might be too much for the many usual 4 nozzle - one purpose - cloning DIY rigs that are so all over the place online.
On my first grow I tried catching the cloning wave but failed. Yeayright like one gallon of untreated water with an airstone wasn't pissin into the wind.
But besides just keepin one flowering female to the tune of 8oz a year, wife and I do wanna also do cutting propagation of fruit trees and bushes, and other valued tree speicies.
............................
So I love this cause all I need to figure out here now is ....
Well,
How many danged pages of hoots I gotta plow:stoned: through here before I get to see your "fogger" in action.
Geez you guys.Quote:

Just outta frustration from not having a simple parts list.
I mean why not just attract as much inefficient bandwidth to my 2 hour goosechase here looking for how I can work a fogger into this picture.
This is the best thread I have found so far on this.
But it took me a friggin week (part time) to zero in on this, but I gotta drive 123 miles to do it all retail (Drat-yeah-HD-cash-anonymous-)(and not by hit or miss online purchases).
Hatch,
My problem is I am reading your various casual material rundowns (piece meal mentions) and so far is I keep wading through posts to catch up scattered plumbing specifications. Now I see you refer to a 3/4 "hose".
I'm a total doof on this stuff, bud.
From your pics it is hard for a non-plumber space cadet like myself to determine whether your quad PVC joint pieces are what you are referring to. Those are 3/4 ID right?
I'm still also trying to figure out whether it would be worth it to add in a true fogger nozzle, and if the heating issue then, is still as simple as rating the reservoir heater for the gallon size of fish tank you would be wanting to run.
I'll keep reading but it would way be cool if you could post up a newer more concise quik flyby of all the connections, inside and out. And a parts list.
Lotta people on dialup connections and using proxies are often what keeps good sites like this impossible to nav when using a proxy. And a lot of people prefer to. Especially us who aren't gettin too off on the I wanna be a legend trip. But just want the gist, get in and out, you know, basically be total snobs, and get back to their other lives, and conserve the bandwidth in the process.
Excuse me.
Guess I was in a mood.
I'll now gladly proceed to reload another hundred pages of posts as if the word buzzkill still meant any damned thing.
Not meanin to sound rude here but this is a truly impressive design to me. But I am hoping to get away with more square inch surface area -- find or build - figerglass - to say 30 x 60" and have it to run fruit tree cutting propagation.
So -- Pressure-wise -- unless I find a nozzle per 700gpm pump - I don't know how big I should design the thing -- once you factor in say roughly double the 1/2"D pipe line length you got there between the joiner quads and t's.
Where the heck can I find if you used and true fogger nozzles, or not?
And I am mostly frustrated by how slow this site is these days when using a proxy. Next to impossible. And we all should realize how that fact may very well be "by design", all you raving half-citizens out there.
Okay sorry. Something else entirely killed my buzz just then.
Lol.
