History of Medical Marijuana Violence (From Playboy)
Everything is connected. A violent society has violent problems. We respond in violent ways to issues that don't need to be violent.
The issue of the violence that surrounds medical marijuana does not exist in a fishbowl.
It's connected to the whole scene that existed before MMJ laws were passed, and still exists.
It's connected to the way our government has historically passed drug laws that have a far harsher effect on minority groups than they do on white middle class people.
So no, this is not 'bullshit'. Maybe for someone living in the suburbs, who will probably live out his whole life without a drug arrest, and whose contact with the dirty, painful truths about drug policy is just reading about it in Playboy... one more sensationalist story... sure it's bullshit when it stops being entertainment and becomes 'real'...

Yeah, there you go making assumptions.
The "bullshit" i'm talking about is that some guy on here goes and makes a racial slur and somehow the whole thread goes from medical marijuana talk to a half assed race war.

Just let this damn thread die people.

I'm sorry, what were you expecting to happen? That we'd all post, 'oooh that's too bad' and then put it out of our heads?
I'm actually happy that guy posted that odd comment, because it illustrates how connected everything actually IS, and how much work remains to be done before we can coexist peacefully in this big, diverse, country where some people do feel disenfranchised enough to consider robbing their neighbor, and others are aware on some level of the desperation of those people and as a result, fear them enough to KILL.
Sometimes you have to discuss things that are hard to talk about in order to bring positive change to your community.
