Just because WE wouldnt give it back, does not make us bad people or "children". Just because we have a differnt opinion to you, does not mean that it is wrong. I wouldnt give it back, i wouldnt hand it in. I'm not wrong for that.
i will try and find out what happend to it as this is a true story it was on the radeo for weeks <real radeo>
hell no i wouldnt hand it in, just like i wouldnt expect it to be returned if i was the one who lost it.
Maybe you shouldn't jam your morality down others throats. I've heard people like you before, except it goes something like "You smoke weed? I really feel bad for your parents for the job they -didn't- do when they raised you." Hope you enjoy the spot on your pedestalQuote:

But the other good point here being, that if that £40,000 is genuine it could belong to someone who had it stolen or someone who just happened to lose it. They could then retrieve it and I'd be happy knowing that I done good. Although slightly upset that someone did actually collect it lol.
Id give half of it back
even spilt
if they were careless enough to loose 40 grand then they got problems,
Id take my half and spilt right oughta here
to blu water and white sand
on the red eye

Sheesh.... and you say *I'm* fucked up.
FWIW, the question was not about smoking weed in case you forgot.
My own personal opinion, such as it is..... is that weed should be legalized with the *same* age requirements, laws, rules, and regulations that apply to alcohol....and yes that also includes the taxes on it.
No. I think he's saying that you shoving your morals down OUR throats is bad. And it is, quite simply.Quote:

well this is going nowhere, i think the new question is "if you found out someone stole 40,000 from you, would you kill them or not?"
I would turn it in to the police. I found nearly five thousand dollars in an envelope laying in the middle of the local Sears parking lot when I was in high school, turned that in, and ended up getting a four hundred dollar reward. I walked away with a clear conscious and some cash as well. Good deal all around.
id probably keep it. money is hard to come by these days..
but then again. ahh this is a toughy.
It totally depends where I found the 40 grand. If I found it in my home city, I would definitely turn it in, as I would feel guilty as hell if I kept it. However, if I was on vacation somewhere and I found 40 grand, I wouldn't really know what to do with it, so I would end up keeping it, or donating it to a non-profit org, like my fraternity for example, or something for breast cancer or something. I'm not sure. Maybe I'd keep it and pay for the rest of my schooling. I dunno, 40 grand is such a large sum of money.
Hard decision.
I think I'd eventually hand it in.
In most circumstances I would turn it in, don't need a guilty conscience or any ugly payback from the universe, but I'm no saint so I hope I get the opportunity to actually have it happen and see what I'd do.:rastasmoke:
I KNOW if I found a purse or wallet with 40k in it, I'd turn it in. If it was a sack o cash that had been stashed some weird place and I stumble across it I'd be very tempted.
I would just think of the money as a gift from the universe for all the years of shit i had to deal with.
i would take it, and maybe donate like 5k to charity to raise some guilt from my shoulders
If you're walking around with $40,000 then you're probally rich. Even if you're not rich, walking around with your life savings is the dumbest thing you could do. To LOSE $40,000 you would have to be a complete idiot or a rich bastard.Quote:

GO smoke A joint :rastasmoke:
I wouldn't hesitate in handing that 30grand straight in.
in all honesty
id keep it
Dude, come on, if someone just randomly loses 40k, its not like it could have been their life savings or whatever. You dont just carry around all your money you have and then lose it. If someone lost 40k, they've probably got a billion bucks or something
the ONLY way i would is if i knew the bills were related to say a bank robbery, because those serial numbers would be watched for... meaning there's a good chance i'd get blamed for the robbery...
other then that... finders keepers losers kill them selves for losing 40k.... rofl... :D
If you handed it in then you would have to be asking the cops (or whoever you handed it into) if they would keep it or do the 'right thing'. Odds are they would do the same thing any other random person on this forum and keep the money.
Unless i personally knew the one who lost it, and i knew they worked hard to earn it, then i would have a sympathy for them. Other than that im keeping the dough.
Mississippi Steve - dont talk shit about peoples parents and how good a job they did or didnt do. My parents did a great job raising me. They taught me a great number of things, and one of which is how to make decissions for myself. So please dont go around playing the roll of the good sumaritian acting like you know whats best for everybody, because quite frankly you dont.
I'd proably take the money...but then again who the hell would loose 40 grand? Chance are if ya found 40 grand its proably a drop off of some sort. and there could be a lot of heat attached to that money. I'd be leary of finding that much money...
Are you serious?
Hell no! And I wouldn't tell anyone either, or else i'd have to pay 36 percent tax on it!
if you loose 40 k you too stupid and ont deserve to get it back.
I didn't really read all the posts on here, so I'm sure what I'll say about it has already been said.
I think anyone who had 40 grand in cash was probably a criminal. normal citizens keep that much in a bank, don't they? If I found 40 grand, it would be really hard to think that it belonged to a nice young couple trying to buy a house or anyone else legitimate. So logic dictates that the original owner acquired it through questionable means, so is it necessarily the right thing to do to turn it in? Who would end up with it? Someone who deserved it more than me? Fuck that, I'm keepin' it.
fuck no
I'd have to give it back/turn it in. Although it would surely be a nice addition to pay off all the bills, I just couldn't keep it. Damn morality, damn it all to hell, LOL...
If I lost something, even that amount of cash, I'd want someone to give it back to me. Of course, I'd give them a hefty reward. At LEAST several grand.
Karma - that's what it's all about.
Screw someone, then watch as you yourself gets screwed. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but what goes around comes around.
And I want my Karma nice and fluffy and full of good vibes!
Keep it without a shadow of a doubt. Guilt? What guilt - I've got 40 grand!
First thing I'd do is probably take £2,000 out of it and buy clothes/jewellery etc. Then probably get my driving license (1 week intensive course - kthx), then my car with insurance and everything. Then probably bribe an employer to hire me, and put the rest in the bank for when needed.
After seeing No Country for Old Men I don't even think I'd touch the money, I'm not trying to be hunted down by Anton Chigurh:D
