Anyway, on another note, nothing to prove now?
where is the motivation then?
I feel that having a point to make or having something to personally prove ourselves is a major key element in staying motivated!
no, i was laughing at you pointing out his french is rusty. I responded to his stating the fact that I didnt post anything in the languages I claim to speak.
Hahaha little miscommunication there :P

Le nom du chat était Panic. Elle est morte l'année dernière. Elle était une bonne amie. Whew, hope I didn't butcher that. LOL. Yea, with alternate languages, if you don't use them, you forget a great deal.
PS) This thread has inspired me to get my old language lab tapes out of storage.

I speak, read and write both English and Spanish. I advise any American to become bilingual. If nothing else it will increase your abilitiy to earn more money.:)
i know a few choice phrases in spanish.... shit that would get me in trouble :D
i know enough spanish to know when someone's talking shit about me... i can't read or write it at all tho.... just have to hear someone speaking it.... but when you're the only one in a kitchen that doesn't speak spanish you kinda learn a few things lol...
I know some basic medical Spanish, but every time I use it I get myself in trouble when I can't really understand the answer I'm getting to the question I've asked. I took a year of Latin in college. I'm not naturally gifted at languages, My wife sure is, but her family did that by deliberate design. I'd be gifted, too, if someone had spoken both languages to me since babyhood and sent me to two years of early schooling in Spain right at the peak of the language absorption years (4 to 6). It's fun to watch her, looking deceptively Anglo, switch into Espanol among a group of Spanish speakers and impress them with a perfect Castillian dialect. She's a helpful translator to have around.
I know a few choice 'uns in spanish as well, and even speak a little Redneck. :D
