YouTube - Lil Wayne Vs Alive Rappers
YouTube - Lil Wayne Vs Alive Rappers 2
YouTube - Lil Wayne Vs Alive Rappers 3
weezy aint shit, there plenty of rappers that are truly deserving of the title of best, just because he says hes the best doesnt mean its true
I heard a lot of you saying he speaks bullshit. how do yall know that? Have you been to new orleans? Im not saying because hes from there he did those things, but new orleans is a wild place.
I dont think hes the best rapper alive but cant put him down for claiming it. He is sick. Being sick doesnt mean your lyrics are sick(packed with long worded metaphors) its delivery 2. hes not to be compared to legends but still one of the better rappers or should I say the songs he puts out are as entertaining as other top songs right now.
i highly recommend you guys check out "da drought"
theres a part 2 and 3
there all sick as hell
Lil Wayne is the greatest rapper to the dumbest people.. nuff said really. The 'real rap/hiphop' flys over their head or under their radar because their simple minds can't process the lyrics, so they listen to Lil Wayne exaggerate his simple clever but pointless lyrics on a nice beat. Hell even ANY Papoose song contains more crazy metaphors than all of Wayne's craziest put together. And Wayne has no 'thug' in him whatsoever, apparently he was rapping at 11 and signed at 13.. tell me where he went through most of lifes struggles before he even reached PUBERTY. It's simple, he hasn't, he disses Gillie in a song/video while wearing Gillie's own chain that he let Wayne borrow (proof) hahahahha, you blind suckers.
this thread is becoming better than reruns on Comedy central, ohh and thnx for the link of that myspace rapper, it was life changing

Spark it and kick back to this one.
mfgr hah, you really need to brush up on your "knowledge" of the entertainment business. Yes, it's all about money, but no it's not that simple. Rappers like wayne have to work their asses off and i mean hard. There are millions of people gunning to be the top dog and how did lil wayne get there? Nope not by his voice, yes it helped, but he worked his ass off dude. Fucking dedicated his life to this since he was 12 years old. I think he deserves to be where he is with people praising him. And it's not about the lyrics in the business, you're right - well not _only_ it's everything dude.
I can back all this shit up because my bro is pretty big and most everyone here would know who he was but im not gunna drop names. But he deffinitly had to work his ass off. Day and night living breathing eating this shit. Dealing with people telling him he wouldnt do shit, dropping out of highschool. Following people's every command but still trying to do his own thing to make it. It's not easy shit.
All I'm saying man is this music isn't garbage. It's a source of _entertainment_ and it can be motivational, but not in a fucking sit down and think like a white person way. It might sound twisted, and of course you can argue that the black community as a whole should think a little deeper, but it is what it is.
Just please stop spitting random shit out of your ass if you havent experienced their thoughts first hand.

Top songs? LOL. Too bad most "top songs" suck, too. Mainstream is controlled by the record industry. The record industry's first concern is the bottom line. As long as it sells, it doesn't matter if it's good or not.Quote:

If your lyrics are good, and your flow is good... then you're good. If not, then you suck. Lil Wayne lacks on both. I think you're just brainwashed into thinking that kind of music is good. Simply put, it's music for dumbasses.
I never claimed to know any specifics about the record industry. But it's a business... and what is the first concern of a business? Well, I don't think I even need to answer that, as I'm sure we both know. I never said it was simple, or that rappers don't have to work hard. Anyone can work hard and make it. You don't have to be real good to make it. Afterall, 50 Cent sucks (and no, that's no opinion - it's a fact, and yes I mean that)... but he made it up there. Of course it's not about lyrics. Don't you see that as long as something sells, they'll sell it? They sell it and advertise it to generate mass appeal, it's simple marketing. Lil Wayne's lyrics suck! I can't believe anyone would say they're not simple-minded lyrics that any fool can write.Quote:

The music IS garbage. Take a look at what Lil Wayne is saying... I think it's pretty obvious what is happening there. Not in a fucking sit down and think like a white person way? Well, how does a white person think? And no, I don't think the black community as a whole should think a little deeper - what, do you think I'm racist or something? I don't think black people don't think deep. In fact, I know they do. But does Lil Wayne have deep lyrics? No. What he raps about is bullshit. It turns people into brainwashed customers, and it is garbage. It's a source of entertainment that dumbs people down when they take it to heart and get motivated from it. Do you really think the record industry as a whole gives a shit if their musicians are making good music, as long as it sells good? Of course not. I'm talking about the basic concept of business here. Lil Wayne's rap is ridiculously stupid, and his lyrics often make absolutely no sense.Quote:

Well, I think I have experienced Lil Wayne's thoughts first hand, by listening to his ridiculous "music". Money this, money that... bitches this, bitches that... mercedes this, cadillac that... isn't his record company even called Money Records? ROFL. Such materialistic, brainwashing bullshit. A lot of it seems like it's advertisement in itself. The videos show these hot cars, and then everyone wants one.Quote:

Yeah man, let's listen to Lil Wayne and get motivated! LOL, what a joke.
No, opinion is about liking/disliking. I dislike Lil Wayne, which is my opinion. Others like him, which is their opinion. However, when it comes to whether he is good or bad, or in between, it doesn't always need to be opinion. If you want to argue this, reply, and I'll reply with a simple answer that will change you perception on this matter.Quote:

I have listened to A LOT of Lil Wayne, to see if people here are right about him having skill. Too bad that's wrong - he lacks skill to a high degree. That one dude posted links to some videos, "Lil Wayne vs. Alive Rappers." Come on now, ROFL! After watching those, how can you still think he's good? It shows just how petty his flow and lyrics/rhymes are. How can someone who can pretty much only rhyme with at most four and five letter words about bitches, money, and cars, be the best rapper alive? In most of his shit, his flow is pathetic. I've heard like one song of his where his flow was okay at best... and I'm sure he got lucky, or just wrote over-simplified lyrics to make them easier to say (er... i mean rap, since Lil Wayne is the best rapper alive :S2:).Quote:

That's implying that hip hop/rap has evolved... which it hasn't. I fail to understand how anybody can call him the best rapper. Probably because Weezy says it himself. It's a big statement, and Lil Wayne certaintly does not hold up to it by any means whatsoever. He's probably convinced he is the best rapper alive, too. He's a joke :S2:. I feel sorry for people who like him a lot, and talk down on real skillful rap in defense of him.
If he's someone's favorite rapper, which is true for a lot of people, then that's different; however, that's just opinion, and everyone is obviously entitled to that. But when you go and repeat what he said, that he is the best rapper alive, you're really pushin' the line wayyyy too far. People saying he's skillful is pushing the line quite a bit already.
HOWEVER, I would listen to Lil Wayne over Soulja Boy or some insanely retarded shit like that.
I think that's the point most people are trying to make with you... He may not be the greatest rapper ever, or the greatest rapper out now, but he's much better that these losers that call themselves rappers like soulja boy who dont even rap and are bringing the mainstream rap industry down. Listen to crank that, the whole song is basically a hook that is slightly altered to make verses, and it makes no sense. I listen to a lot of different rap from ill bill to immortal technique to binary star and jedi mind tricks. If you want somebody to blame for all this dumbed down lame pop rap blame p diddy, after big died he made it his goal to water down rap and feed it to us.Quote:

Mfgr why you gottin be hatin on weezy, i mean i know gangstarr is a lyrical monster but i mean their is a lot of better weezy if you look for it i mean i don't know i like most of his songs and i like all of those other rappers like gangstarr and i love method man and wu-tang.
I don't care if people like him. My point is that it's ridiculous to say that he is the best rapper - and a lot of people think that. Everybody has their likes and dislikes. But like I said, I think it's ridiculous to say he's the best rapper alive, when he's clearly not even close. And yes, I know that there are people like Soulja Boy who are even worse than Lil Wayne.Quote:

I guess nobody understands that Lil Wayne is complete shit, but I guess you all don't know what real hip hop is.
There are lots of rappers better than Lil' Wayne. But that does not mean he isn't awesome as fuck.
The problem with that statement is that most rappers are better than Lil Wayne, lyrically and flow-wise.Quote:

FIRST OFF... Weezy F. Baby is the best rapper ALIVE... he talks about real shit whether you can relate to it or not. SECOND Lil Wayne is a fucking lyricist from hell and since i have almost every mixtape he's ever been on (won the 2007 mixtape artist of the year btw) and his original albums (the carter I & II) i'm not your average saw him on "suckerfree" fan. One thing i must point out that you apparently don't know is that he has worked his way to the top as an "Independent" artist on his OWN record label Cash Money Records! Which means that the big time record industry is not at all in control of his fame. I would also like to point out that even as good as he is he is not selfish with his talent, he has made hit songs by collaborating with other artists on their songs for years.
this statement is also bogus! i know what real hip hop is! Pac, Biggie, they were real mother fuckers but you have to realize that Nas who may have been real at one time is now just a hater... because hip hop is not dead! it just moved down to the south :rastasmoke: just because you don't respect a style doesn't mean it's not real hip hop...Quote:

Too bad Lil Wayne's lyrics make almost no sense... therefore I think it's safe to say that it has nothing to do with style, and more to do with how much skill he lacks. And the skill that I say he lacks is not opinion, it's fact. If he is seriously "the best rapper alive" like many people say, then why doesn't he put out some rhymes that are above rhymes that a 5th grade could write? Come on, seriously... he's horrible. And for the record, it's not hip hop. You saying that it is hip hop just shows your ignorance about what hip hop actually is.Quote:

Being really high doesn't give him an excuse for babbling about nothing and being as abstract as possible, which is what most of his lyrics consist of. If not, then it's a mildly clever rhetoric relating to either weed, cars, jewelry, or women. Yeah he sure is deeeep.
People don't want to pay money to listen to a skinny, spoiled, stoned kid rapping in circles. At least I don't. He had it made back when he was like 16 and even then his voice made me shudder. "All deez carrots like I'm a fuckin vegitarian..." eee gaaads man.
Bottom line: he has some catchy hooks, yes, but hey who doesn't have at least one. The only way he'll be remembered beyond the year 2010 is by either his uniquely annoying voice or "that one kid with Cash Money way back when." Other than that, he's a dime-a-dozen rapper as far as I'm concerned. The only difference is he has the money to get his name out there, so on and so forth.
But hey, cool tear drop tat braaah. Haha.
