It's the fifth amendment. No where does it say that your rights against self incrimination are dependent on how much money you make or your status in society. How many times I would like to see a suspect beaten to within inches of his life to give up information but that would be wrong and once you start making exceptions then none of us have any rights. By making sure the people that deserve the rights the least are afforded their rights makes sure that those that should have them do.
I think it's very short sided of you to blast him about smoking pot in this manner. Yes it was stupid but you can't know what was going through his head when he smoked. Then to just sit there and say he gets high and degrades women while other people are good pot smokers sounds like some kind of government propaganda. Doesn't the government and those against pot try to make pot smokers out like demons and evil and sensationalize the evils of pot but you're going to turn around and point the finger at him like his way of smoking pot is worse than your way or your way is better? If he's not robbing people to buy pot then I don't see how his form of pot smoking is so bad. Stupid yes, bad no. I can't even put into words how fucked up this is what your doing. You're doing to him what the government does to all of us. Anslinger started the whole anti-marijuana propaganda by saying that pot smokers were evil violent low lifes and now you (I imagine you smoke or use marijuana) are now going to turn around and do the same thing to Vick? Stupid yes but does smoking pot while awaiting sentencing make him a worse person than he already is, no. Not only does this parallel what the government does but also when an alcoholic points the finger at a pot smoker and puts them down.
He's an idiot and a loser for betting on dog fighting, breeding dogs for fighting, and killing dogs and treating them badly. Should he burn that much more because he smoked while awaiting sentencing? Not in my book.
:(You're right, I am being short-sided(and minded). But Fakeboobsrule, I've seen the worst of what Micheal Vick has written all over him. I'm sorry, I can't shake off what people like him do to our society. and if not him, what he likes to represent. He doesn't strike me as the "peaceful" and "positive" person. I guess I'm being ignorant in my judging him but hey, like I said, he brought it on himself.
he admitted it, hope they put him away for a long time.
Your innocent until proven guilty in this country (at least thats how it's suppose to be) but just because your proven guilty on dog fighting charges, etc, doesn't make you guilty in all other stages and parts of life. My guess is he will come back to the NFL just as Ricky Williams has. But if he stays out of trouble until that day, I will have nothing against him.
There's something to say for someone who can dig their way down to the deepest pit they could muster, then work their way out of it. I'll have respect if he can do that.
he admitted it, hope they put him away for a long time.

and the sad thing we are turning a blind eye to harsher crimes JENA-6 (also black males)
was going on at the same time, did something wrong but nevertheless still occurs everyday, and they were sentenced to something outrageous (im not really quite sure) and yeh you saw some protesters of their sentence but they were from their home town they were friends and family, you didnt see flocks of random people trying to fight for their young lifes and keep them out of jail did you? I pretty sure there sentences were lifted since then though, but its the point that people are willing to fight soooo hard for vick to be in jail, but at the same time wont lift a finger to help people who are being fucked by the legal system
i like the way someone managed to work in the jena 6 here. wich by the way they got over. they should have been charged with a hate crime but instead got an award from BET. livin here in the south we actually know what happened. and it was nothin like how the media portrayed these 6 kids. these 6 kids viciosly beat a fellow student months after the noose was hung in the tree. not the day after not the week after but months after. and by the way there were flocks of people trying to fight for there young lives and keep them outa jail, wich they managed to do.jessee and al had people bussed in from all over the country so the protesters were not just from there home town. now i know i may be coming off to some as a raciest but im not. i beleive everyone should be treated EQUALLY. that means you do not ave the right and should be treated as a hero for commiting a brutal crime because someone did something that you found offensive, and on that same note if he kid who hung the noose did it for racially motivated purposses then he should be held accountable also.
now as far as michael vick is concerned he commited a crime and should serve everyday of his sentance. if for nothing more than the fact that he is a high profile person and the message should go out to the kids who look up to him that if you are cought and convicted of a crime your goin to do your time.
