I havent been a member for that long, but i am a member at two other forums....and those are way better, the people here are not growers, just kids asking stupid questions. (must say that the few growers in here know their shit)
so why am i still here you ask?.......purely for amusement
I think the site is better......MUCH better. The amount of misinformation running through is much MUCH less. It's SOOO nice not to read ridiculous threads about peeing on your plants or how you added espresso and they grew great etc etc...getting your gerbil high, how you managed to be so cool as to run from the cops in the woods and your parents didn't find out....and on and on.
While I did enjoy the younger crowd as a rule.....there is one thing about them that was very frustrating to me. They believe just about anything anyone tells them. That made it EXTREMELY hard to pass on good info....they really did not know the difference between good info and bad info and spread both with equal abandon. imo, that kept the site in a vaccum and it could not change or improve.
I LOVE the new cdot. :yippee:
^^^weedhound^^^
just as i was mentioning growers who know their shit!!
you must've heard me...lol:D
Lol how dare you compare this great site with the Bush regime. Clinton administration i'm kool with, there's loads of weed smoking fornicators out there.
Yeah but you still havent said weather you think its worse or better billion :).
personally i'm keeping my lips sealed on this.
this is his site, and ultimately everything is his decision... all i can say is, if you don't like it you might as well leave. i imagine trying to get sundance to change his mind on something would be like convincing god to go buddhist... lol...
i guess i'm one of the few who see where he wants to take the site, and like it or not, he will. i don't always agree with the changes, but i accept them and move on. i don't really understand why everyone else has such a problem with that.
just remember, it's outta your hands, when something changes all you can really do about it is accept it and move on, or don't accept it and leave (either by free will or eventual ban if you keep bringing the subject up)
and no i don't think your opinion should be silenced, but most here don't want to state their opinion on changes, they want to argue/debate the changes.... stating your opinion would be saying it just once, just so it's known and moving past it... what nearly everyone does here when a change happens they don't like is continually complain about it and beat the dead horse, until mods/sundance is just tired of hearing it and then they get banned. (or they flip out, cuss out mods and such, and just general hell raise and get a ban)
Lol....this site isn't the greatest. But it's my home. It's gotten better with the 18+ rule, but sometimes its still not so great. It's more about weed culture, than cannabis itself.Quote:

Have a good one!
OK, my thoughts on this are as follows. First, it's a heck of a lot easier for people to complain than to actually make constructive contributions. Weedmaster, if you're unhappy with the level of "love running through" here, then you have a couple of choices. You can complain about it and post that publicly. Or you yourself can demonstrate some love and support and turn the trend. You chose the former. We have heard a number of complaints recently, and that's not surprising as people are rarely as comfortable with change are they are the status quo. The boards are in a period of growth right now, which always upsets the folks who're not feeling up to the challenge of growing along with those changes. For those of you who're really not up to that challenge--or those of you who're under the impression that a privately owned Web forum is a democracy--well, you know where the door is. Sorry to be blunt, but no one's forcing you to stay here.
I also want to set the record straight on two other matters. First, Invoke, Image Reaper wasn't hostile to Granny Storm Crow. He was simply candid with his thoughts. There's a big difference. He'd have been hostile if he'd called names or crossed over the lines of verbal aggression. Both Image Reaper and Storm Crow are valued, respect members here, and I admire the way they both voiced their opinions strongly and with civility. I appreciate that, both as an adult and as a mod.
On the matter of improving the maturity of the boards, I have to say that while I miss some of our younger members very much, including many who had maturity surpassing their chronological years, I do think that eliminating the "How do I hide my grow from my parents?" and "What do your farts smell like?" type threads has upped the ante around here. If we're ever going to make any progress on advancing cannabis as a substance that can be taken seriously, both medically and recreationally, we first have to make it the domain of responsible adults. NORML has known this fact for a long time and makes that policy clear at every turn. We can help improve the esteem in which cannabis users and advocates are held by supporting responsible, moderate cannabis use by adults, which I know The Image Reaper and Storm Crow both basically agree with. Do I think it's unfortunate that some of the underage members will end up lying to get back in? Sure. But that's their choice, not something we're forcing them to do. The truth is that these youngsters have already had to be dishonest in some form or fashion to be able to obtain or use cannabis in the first place.
I don't believe what Image Reaper said to be candid because one who is candid is just and speaks with truth. What he said wasn't at all true or necessary, in the slightest. There was absolutely 0 need for him to say what he said. Accusations of child abuse are totally false and aggressive, therefore being hostile. If he has such concerns he should pm Storm Crow privately with the rep system. He shouldn't slander her in a public internet forum when she didn't provoke him. It's ironic that his words could easily be passed as those of one under the age of 18. Great example of adult maturity Image ;)Quote:

With the age rule, the population and forum activity has been halved. The quality of posts is much better.
I would halve the number of forums (to match the decrease in posting), get rid of reputation points, allow talk of legal drugs at least (tobacco, alcohol, salvia), allow messaging other members, and enable the option to have different colors for the forum layout.
Also, whoever voiced his opinion about Granny should be able to, even it was unpopular. It was just an opinion and not some sort of formal accusation.
He is allowed to express his opinion as every person should be able to do. The reasons his comments were unpopular speak for themselves.
Precisely, Snorbel.
A lot of y'all didn't like what The Image Reaper said. And that's fine. But Reefer, he said he believed that helping children with information about using or growing cannabis "bordered on child abuse." That's very diffferent, at least to the cogent, undefensive mind, from saying someone is actually abusing children. We all know that Granny cares very deeply about children, in fact, as an educator and a parent/grandparent. Granny capably argued her point very clearly and well in return. Was that a feel-good statement The Image Reaper made? Nope. It wasn't intended to be. It was intended to be blunt. But it wasn't hostile or aggressive. Hostile or aggressive, as I said earlier, would have occurred if he'd called her names, made allegations of actual abuse, or flamed her in some other way. Make sure you read things thoroughly and understand what's actually being said before you step up to the defense, Reefer.
Like i said, this thread is about if we believe cannabis.com is better now or if we believe it was better before. I don't believe Image Reapers comments make cannabis.com a better place. It was unnecessary regardless of the technicallity of wether or not it was violent or agressive. He should've pm'd his concerns not slander on a public forum. I'm done, i don't know why i got involved really, i took it more personally then her lol. It's only coz i like her so much and know how much we need people like Storm Crow contributing to this site. We don't need those kind of negative comments on a stoner forum where it's supposed to be a frienly place, where people can get along and talk about getting high.
I don't post round here enough anymore to have that much of an opinion of the changes that have been made. Sure, it's a shame the under 18 users got banned, and in my opinion it's better for them to have somewhere they can go to get good, responsible, honest advice... but at the end of the day, it's up to the owners of the site. If they don't want anyone underage here, for whatever reason, we've just gotta live with it.
No matter what you think about all of the subtle (and not-so-subtle) changes that have been made, this is still a cool place where we can come together to discuss something we all enjoy. So be happy. :)
i know what your all saying change isn't a bad thing and there are some great new peeps.i just felt that you use to really feel the love here but not as much now.
Birdgirl i ended the thread LOVE TO YOU ALL, isn't that a way of showing love. i think it's better than the immature if you don't like it you know where the door is.But your right instead of bitching about it do something about it so i'm off to the lounge to spread some love,LOVE TO YOU ALL.WM
That wasn't immature, Weedmaster. That was just pure, plain straight talk.Quote:

I get the distinct feeling this thread has served its purpose, but I may leave it open for a tad longer, at least until I sign off for the night.
