[quote=Nation_1ne]Even if it's an IP ban you can quite easily get around it.
CC, you've gotta be a bit more subtle about people ages mate, at this rate you'll be giving everyone up lol.
It's a shame they are banning under ages. It would have been cool if they had some sort of Grandfather rule.
[/QUOTE
I was thinking exactly the same on all parts..CC,,WTF are u doing? bustin people out like that...gotta be more chilled than that...I think if your weren't 16 you would make a great mod..haha..yeah right:stoned:
Oh yeah, and the grandfather rule..why not? That is all I have to say on that.

I'm a bit upset about the rule. I understand it, but kids need a place to go. C.C was that place. I know they will be lurking, but it won't be the same. - Granny:hippy:

Sounds like this could be a song title "They got crunkjuice." Oh well sorry crunkjuice, maybe you can write a song about this and make some money off of it and that would be some small consolation.
-
Aww, man, they got Crunkjuice
I know of some members that have GOTTA be severely underage.. and it would explain why they wouldnt tell me how old they are. Most of em are cool but not all... at all.... and the ones that SHOULD have been banned dont seem to have been yet.

I think its all about being of legal age... If you can't buy cigs, or alcohol, then why should you be able to do weed?? If weed WAS legal, the same restrictions/regulations would apply anyway. 14, 15, 16 years old are still children and do not have the lifes experiences to be able to make informed and/or mature decisions for themselves. They might *THINK* they can, but no...it doesn't work that way. If it did, then we would have children running the country, and the capitolistic business world. As it is, 14, 15, 16 years old are still children that are not even half way through high school.... with no education to speak of (yet), none of lifes experiences, no training to become a useful member of society.
All they know is that they live in mommy and/or daddy's home, and their needs are taken care of, they get an allowance.....instead of having to work for a living and provide their own means of support.
granted.... there may be a select few that don't fit the mold, but we are talking a million to one shot here.
Either way, I think age restrictions are a good thing on here.

Will that stop them from smoking weed? NO.
And now there's no one left to tell them it's not OK to drink bongwater.

It won't stop them from smoking weed, but that still doesn't make it right. I don't blame the kids, I blame the parents.
How do *you* feel about your kids getting blazed at 14 and 15 years old??.... and sneaking around to do it. Where are they getting the money to buy weed?? Just the same as if they were getting drunk... same questions apply... Where are they getting the money from?? are they stealing from your liquer locker?? or is somebody else buying for them and contributing to the delinquency of a minor??
FWIW, They won't drink bong water more than once LOL

I started a week before my 9th birthday. It saved my life.
I was well on my way to becoming a violent gangbanging criminal. Then I got high.
And no, it's not like alcohol at all. Cannabis makes you think. Alcohol prevents thinking.

Don't get me wrong, I understand WHY it happened. It's just sad that our society is so screwed up that kids can't get an education anymore.

this site is getting stricter and stricter...seems like all forums I go to either die or get gay at some point, look like canna is near its end for me, whether I get banned or just stop coming, Yeah. I'm "underage" (weed had no age restriction, you just get in more trouble if your 18+)...peace I guess, internet nazis

First of all I just have yo say you are making absurd generalizations. Before I told my age on this site most people thought I was in college or a college grad. I have a shitload of life experiences. I have a job. And I get medical marijuana. And if it wasn't for the fact that you mentioned that there are some that don't fit the mold, i'd neg rep you. Its that type of attitude that keeps the youth down. Its that type of attitude that makes the world so fucked up.

I think you are putting all underage people into a broad category.
basically a stereotype of youth. not all teenagers are unexperienced in life or get an allowance from mommy and daddy.
you are correct that many of them cannot make rational or smart decisions, but it is not a "one in a million shot" i would say more of a 60 out of a 100 shot. i know many 14, 15, 16, year olds who have an older mind set than their age. you dont know everyones life and what they had to go through. and you also say someone half way through high school has "no education to speak of, none of lifes experiences, no training to become a useful member of society" so i guess that is all supposed to come to them magically when they graduate, right? im taking a long shot here and guessing that you where once 16, where you as dumb and unintelligent as you see todays youth?

I'm guessing the reasons for this are because there is adult material on the site. If you want under 18's here it means you have to have restrictions on your language and also restrictions on what we share here. It means that the over all rules would also be a lot stricter. With the content that's on this site and the age of some of the members, Cannabis.com could face legal issues I guess.
I agree with you guys, it's a great loss and I'm saddened it has come to this. But you have to see it from the owners perspective. The way I see it is if one of our forum buddies gets banned then I hope he or she comes back in disguise ;)
-
Aww, man, they got Crunkjuice
lol i understand the reasoning, but it saddens me that fear is causing this website to compromise itself on the whole reason we are possible... freedom...
sad, and bullshit... still people don't take action (****it's cool i'm already past 18)

...more trouble for 18+... Excellent point. +rep for that. But yeah, what's the deal. I thought well over half the community was under 18. Bet we lost a lot of users when that went into effect. But I'll miss crunk, he was a pretty cool kid.

Yes I was 16 once, many years ago, so were both of my children. Todays youth are not near as smart as you are lead to believe. I speak from my own lifes experiences, and a parent.
When I was 16, I was in high school until around noon, then I went to work until around 5:30, then I went home to stuff some groceries down my neck, then off to the local JC to take night school courses. I earned my journeyman machinist papers at 19 years old. I enlisted in the military, figuring that they would pay for my college. I liked it, and retired with 22 years in, and a masters in mechanical engineering with a minor in environmental science. The military allowed me to travel to the ends of the earth....literally.
I have been a business owner and certified master HVAC contractor/technician for the last 10 years.
Maybe I am an "over achiever", maybe not, but it certainly has given me a different prospective on living life.
I guess it all boils down to these few things....
To be truely successful, you have to work a half day, every day, and it doesn't matter if its the first 12 hours or the second 12 hours.
Don't put yourself in a position where somebody has to do something about it
Treat everybody the same way you want to be treated.
Do the very best you know how, every time, all the time.
There is no such thing as a stoopid question, only stoopid answers when you didn't ask questions.
These are a few of the things that my parents tried to teach me, I just wish that I didn't "know it all" when I was a teenager, and listened to what they tried to teach me a lot sooner.

Aww, man, they got Crunkjuice
well, Im 16 years old. I lied when I signed up. Whenever I sign up for any site I make myself at least 18 if not 21. I didn't think it was a big deal then and I thought it was just a cover your ass move. I guess they're serious. This site should let people who are under 18 on. When you decide that people under 18 can't join then you do the same thing the government does when they don't let us legally smoke marijuana. Plus, isn't this supposed to be a family site, which is why we can't talk about other drugs?
Oh well. I'll try to come back and leave clues about this screen name in my new one. I'd rather get banned for my age then stay here and hide from it. I don't think there's anything wrong with me being 16 and wanting to talk to people on here just because I'm below an imaginary assumed legal age that doesn't even exist because it's on an illegal substance.
If this is my last post then bye every body

There may be a liability issue having younguns on the site?
Personally, I don't mind them, think most are funny and keep me amused. I like to hear what the younger kids are doing these days.:)

Actually, you have 2 good points. I was smoking at 16 tho myself.
I went to school, college, got married, blah, blah, blah.
I worked for my weed money too. Never stole for it or anything.
But as a parent, no, I wouldn't really want my 14-15-16 year olds smoking yet.
Oh and the drinking of the bong water and the bleaching of the penis so cracked me up!:S2:
