sensation grow log (help always welcome)

O.K heres the update on pics. Needless to say the plants are looking pretty awful all bent over, but I'm sure they will perk up.

Right another thing is still no fittings for my CFL's, therefore I am ordering some new ones. Also go a pic of my current horizontal set up with HPS lamp working overhead the others.

Superthrive came today, looking forward to see how that works out.

And still no mylar as the ebayer is still having paypal problems.

Just to remind you:

Average Joe: 2 weeks
Speckle: 4/5 weeks
Runt: 6 weeks
Green Giant: 6 weeks
Bin Laden: 6 weeks
herby: 6 weeks ( looks very little like a MJ plant lol, but definitely is :) )

Plans: Going to get these fittings and let them all veg a little longer.

In the very first pic, I'd move that one so that it is completely under the light instead of off to the side. You may just move the cont. in a half circle, at least it appears so. Are they within two inches of the tops of the plants? If so, looks great! I think you will have a lot faster growth now! Just keep them close! You can always adjust the plant height instead of fiddling with the lights too!

The CFl's are yes and the HPS a little higher, I was expecting my sockets yesterday for the rest of my lights but no luck so thats why the other lights are a far away from CFL's I am taking it in turns on who gets the CFLs lol

How about my LSTing should I stop or is it looking ok that i can carry on?

I wouldn't daresome touch the littlest one....in fact, it seems they are quite short and not unruly yet so I'd leave them alone for awhile! Looks really good! I must have missed where it says you have an HPS...! Now I have to look for that.

Nope lol it is there though basicly, I have 2 plants under the 2 Cfls, then the other 4 are being supplied light from my 125w Envirolite HPS that is about 6 inches above them until I get my other CFL's sorted.

Anyone got any other suggestions I could try? Maybe I could LST only for a little while so there is almost a half turn etc?

Just leave the lsting alone until you need to tie them down again. You'll know when this happens, trust me! (you are trying to keep an even canopy, letting light evenly reaching the tops as best you can)


Also, I'm confused. I thought Envirolites were florescents? I'm obviously not from GB.

cant remember if you said it but this is your first grow correct...your plants should really start taking off now.....what is your light schedule right now? there should be days were you dont look at the plants and when you come back they look like they have exploded with growth....thats how it was for my plant....AMAZING how much they can grow in a 12 to 15 hour period. I just put my plant into flowering last night at 9pm.....if its a girl i will get you some picks, if its a boy imnot even gonna fuck with getting a camera....looks like my topping method will produce AT LEAST 4 main colas....this should be fucking sweet.....im gonna get a T5 with some bloom bulbs soon...the only problem is i can get the light fixture at a hydro shop with cool 6500k bulbs but now i have to order 3000k or 3500k bulbs for the bloom cycle....hopefully this wonttake too long. I have to wait till i get paid to get the light and order the bulbs so by the time I am certain of sex i should have my complete bloom setup....if any of you are curious about T5 plus cfl grows and what your final yeild can be, i recommend tracking my post i will start a log once i determine if i have a female on my hands...also check out BOBBONG's cfl grow ....SIMPLY AMAZING what he did with these lights...if you cant use hps like myself CFL and T5 are the next bast option and with advanced topping and LST techniques you CAN produce a very descent yeild and quality bud. I know it isnt ideal but with practice its possible, dont listen to alot of these people who insist on having HPS for personal grows, yes it is better and easier but if you simply cant deal with the heat because of confined spaces than you gotta do it this way...it is very irritating to here people say you need a 600w HPS for 2 plants in a cabinet....get good cfls and effective reflection and you can make it happen...

Turns out my plant was a boy, hate seeing those fucking balls, but the good news is I just got 10 free papaya seeds from my friend and he also gave me the Indoor Marijuana Horticulture by Jorge Cervantes so ill be germing the new papaya tonight and start all over again.....ill still get my t5 so i should have a quick and healthy veg cycle and lets pray to god these are girls cuase this is some goooooood seed..

You can cloone when you find out the sex of the plant......this makes since because you dont wanna waste time cloning males......also it is best to wait until you know which plant is the strongest....ie...naturally disease resistant with strong roots and healthy stem and also produces quality yeild.....wait till you find a good strong female and clone her...once my grow is started I plan on keeping a mother and constantly have two plants vegging and two plants flowering......to do this i can clone a mother or hopefuly any of the females that are in the flowering box.....once i get one female and can produce strong plants regularly i shouldnt need a mother and can just clone from the new flowering plants......wait till sex is determined is the answer...

ok cool When i am done with this batch i was going to do the same idea as you with a 4week veg, 8 week veg, 4 week flower and 8 week flower(harvest and keep rotating through them.

To be honest my plants are quite small. What yield should I be expecting and i know it will just be a estimate?

thereisreally no way to tell about the yield...however, if you wanna maximize it i think you should get some better reflection....if at all possible you may wanna start building of find something you can use as a grow box...that way you can line the entire thing with mylar and get the most out of the fluorescent lights......those lights are emmiting a good amount of lumens but as of right now at least half are getting spit above the plants and out, this is of no use to your plants.....i dont think you can expect a descent yield with fluorescents unless you have extremely effective reflection! Actually the rule is you cant expect descent results from any light without descent reflection...you are also wasting money on your power bill since your using watts that arent used at all by the plant....You NEED to enclose that area and reflect light all over it to expect much of anything.....if you look on these boards the best grows with cfl's are trashcan or small cab grows....ITs because of the reflection!

ok cool I might have 2 grow boxes for space and convenience, I'll have to find something to use though.

CFL's for me at least grew whispy buds even with reflection and I had like 250+ w's of power running in there even

I have 222w of power atm. Is that enough to flower 6 plants?

And the problem with reflection is My dodgy light setup lol. Its very fragile ;). I'll have to invent something new :D!

Well from all the comments above it seems like its time to build a new grow box or two so here are my plans:

• 1 Veggy grow box for herby and average J. until they are good enough to flower and then I will use it as a veggy grow box for two plants from then on.
• 1 Flowering box for my other 4 plants.
• ALLLLLL lined with mylar, flowering box will contain my 125w Flourescent and more.
• Getting another fan today hopefully.

Made my grow box smaller today and set timer to 12/12 so starting to flower today. Mylar will come tomorrow or thursday, but my grow box isn't suitable to stick it to so I am trying desperately to find something better.

Ok so I started flowering yesterday and it's still dark period. Mylar might come today and I've got some old toyboxes I might be able to rig up as cabs, we'll see later.

Damn the toyboxes weren't as big as I thought, please seriously need help on a new grow box I'll get pics of my current setup. Oh and Mylar didn't come today :(

hey there nice grow you got going. maybe you could cover the top of the box with black garbage bags and make some sort of teepee, thats what i did. you just poke your head between the bags when you wana look it there :D
