O.K. now i'm worried. This is abnormal for Skink not to show up!
actually he has, this is about the third thread he's made...Quote:

i'm thinking he's in jail... he shoulda posted back by now... =/
NO FUCKING WAY! thats fucking b ullshit he cuda had a laugh driving round pissed! ouch harsh! hope everything works out skink :p
Aw man.. Well, how long can you really get for DUI? It cant be more than a couple nights..
depends on how many times you've had 'em... my uncle is looking at long term prison time right now for DUI... he went to prison for like his 3rd or 4th dui for 2 years... and was on parole another 5 i think.
Skink is online i think. for me his dot is green. This can only be a good sign,
haha yea unless if the govt. is confiscating his possesions! :(
I'm out for now but things don't look good... I agreed to plead guilty on a DUI in exchange for weekends in jail,,,instead of a straight 6 months in jail... I signed the plea and sent my ride home,,,I was going in for the weekend... When we went before the judge he said I got a letter from the ACO that he was no longer able to grant weekends,,,so,,, I withdrew my guilty plea...
Slip,,,My public defender did not even call the tow truck driver... I searched and found the drivers name and address on the internet and emailed it to my public defender the 8th of Feb... I followed up with an email last week asking the lawyer what he found out,,,he never replied to any emails just like he don't answer the phone... Well he says to me yesterday I emailed him the stuff to late to do anything then I pulled out a copy of the February email and he just walked out of the room and talked to someone else explaining how he was also getting reamed with a plea...
The reason I was not home last night was because I was supposed to be in jail for the weekend and sent my ride home,,,so I got stuck in a hotel for the night...
One interesting thing my public defender mentioned is that there are 8 states that don't reciprocate driver info,,,meaning those states don't transmit data back and forth with the rest of the US... I have to call him for the list of these states,,,if he answers??? I looked on the net and really can't find this list,,,but i found mention of something like it... My goal is to apply for a drivers licence in one of these states before they yank them here,,,then sell off and move to that state...
If anyone knows of this list of non-reciprocating states please email it to me...
Hopefully it all works out for ya Skink, wish you all the luck in the world. I'd look for that list but my internet search skills are faar from any good ;) Good luck though I'm sure someone will pull through with the list of those states :D
Only five states â?? Wisconsin, Tennessee, Georgia, Massachusetts, and Michigan â?? are not part of the IDLC. The other 45 states have agreed to notify one another when a driver is arrested or convicted of DUI / DWI. This means that an individual arrested for drunk driving in California may face a suspended license and/or a fine in the state that issued the driverâ??s license.
Interstate Driverâ??s License Compact (IDLC)
Hope this helps....if now there is more information on this site.
Have a good one!
i tried looking for the list on google, unfortunatly i cannot locate it sorry bro!
psycho ure so smart!
LMAO!!! Only as smart as google lets me be.......this was the key to the search thanks to Skink: "don't reciprocate driver info"Quote:

this sentence is confusing in itself when trying to relate it to my purpose --vv--

Another thing to consider is extradition too. IF you got busted in another state would they send your ass back to the state of the offense.
Have a good one!
I don't think extradition is done in these cases as of yet,,, but it was on my mind...
BIG TIME national frowning upon drunk driving.......check it out well my friend!Quote:

Hey Skink glad that you're still free. I have a bit of experience with the legal system in California. Which DUI number is this? My roommate just got a DUI in Sacramento county and they just gave him time served plus work project plus a bunch of fines and classses and shit. Can you afford a few grand for a lawyer? I hate to say it but we don't call them public pretenders for nothing. Just remember that they get their pay check from the same source as the DA the Judge and the Sherrif's... So now you can see what team they are really on.
The only way you have to worry about extradition is if you don't go back to court then they will issue a warrant and you will have to worry about it then. But if you've allready done your sentence even if you were on probation most California counties won't extradite you back without any new charges pending. Parole is a different story. CDC will bring your ass back from anywhere.Quote:

man that sucks dude.. i'm sorry what you'r egoing through =/ the justice system can be such bullshit... i mean they're wanting to put you away for like 1/4 of the time the dude who murdered my brother got...
just seems they punish all the wrong people...
well i am against drunk driving (not drinking and driving, you can have a beer or two and drive fine, although i would'nt reccomend it, but i hate those idiots who chug like a fifth and go out driving cuz their gf pissed htem off and crash into some family's minivan) but what's going on with you is total bullshit...
skink, you need to get a real lawyer.... that public defender is going to up getting you raped by the judge....
maybe call around and talk to some lawyers (none on commercials of course, they got enough people they don't need to cut anyoen a break) and see if you could set something up on payments with them.... you really need a good lawyer...
i dunno what to really tell you tho... i'd hate to see you go to jail, you're a cool dude, and you did the right thing, and what did you get for it? =/ a dickheaded cop on a power binge...
weak!
this is all lame.
edit:i would give you good luck rep if i could
If you hire a new lawyer it will buy you all kinds of continuances in court so you can license up in another state. Hiring a real lawyer is your best bet.
I hate to hear this kind of injustice. You're a good guy Skink...I hope everything turns out well for you man...
