The only sirens I hear are police cars, ambulances, and fire trucks. Part of being downtown. You hear it 24/7, but I'm a deep sleeper, so I rarely get woken up.

The sirens on that video sound a lot like ours, but ours are a tad bit more drawn out and they have some women every 10 minutes or so repeating "This is a test, blah blah blah...." I wonder how you get chosen to be the voice on the nuke system?

Yea first Sat. of every month. (Tornado sirens) always gets me.
So if it happens once a week, and you get used to it. How do you know if its real or fake?
They only do it once a month and I imagine they wouldnt have that chick saying "This is just a test".

Yes, we have the Shabbos siren. It sounds like an old "Air Raid" device. The religous Jews sound it off on Fridays twice at sundown, to let their community know that the Sabbath is approaching. It's very loud, and I'm glad that I don't live close to one.
