I'm not to concerned either way, but you really have to look beyond the screen with all methods provided on internet and in print.. you have to learn the basics to see through the methodology and mythology.
Ok, some important things to ponder about Hydrogen Peroxide.
It helps eliminate many pathogens, bacteria, mould.
Some have called it a cancer cure for deep lung cancer.
It can burn a hole in your flesh when at concentrated levels.
ALWAYS USE FOOD GRADE PEROXIDE IN ANY APPLICATION... THE
DRUG MART VERSIONS HAVE HEAVY METALS IN IT..POSSIBLY MERCURY
DEFINITE LEAD.
WHEN USING IT, DILUTE TO 3% PEROXIDE

and really, there is nothing wrong with peat pots, or peat in a mix, especially for starting seeds. When hit with the right water ratio, not sticky, and aerated properly, the germinated seed just taps root very quicky and spreads its fine root hairs so excellent. It really depends on the application, it's just the nicest method so far i have experienced for developing the root system, then the transplant to the big pot is just one step, as you know if your plant is vigorous at this point, it will be plain as you can check the edges of the peat pot with a chop stick or what have you to see if the root system is edging out , or coming to the end of soil where it meets the actual pot. you don't have to rely on that of course..the obvious indicator will be the seed pot popping out of the soil and first leaves emerging! :D One joy is seeing the process JUST before the Root goes south.. is the loop you can see with some seeds when the root tendril first rises up towards the sun, and then curves 180degrees diving back into the soil to make the anchor that will lend the kundilini energy to break the seed case out of the earth. JOYOUS. It's like of like Dune in a way!
