your trying to compare apples to oranges. rock is an entire class of music, based on several different earlier forms, with numerous sub-classifications. rap is just a sub-genre of r&b, based on a bunch of talentless fools trying to make a quick buck and get their 15 minutes.
bet you can tell which way i voted.;)
i like them both equally but lately i have been listening to more rap.. you need a both option!
Haha I was talking about metal. Some rock too though. I like classic rock though. RATM is pretty good too. And yes, most mainstream rap is grabage, so is a lot of underground too.Quote:

I want more guitar solos in rock!
Metal is okay, but I'm not too big into it... Classic rock is the best, esp. in the late 70s early 80s.
WE NEED MORE MUSICIANS! I'm tired of all of these 'punk' bands; there are so many of them, punk has lost its meaning. We need people who respect the guitar and KNOW how to play it, instead of just using it for plain repetetive rhythm guitar with mediocre lyrics.
WE NEED A ROCK REVOLUTION!
I like both equally. It depends on what mood im in and what i feel like listening too. I voted for rap though because its probably gonna be the underdog on these forums.
In protest, I'm saying Electronica.
I find the word 'rap' has a bad reputation, so I like to use 'hip-hop' instead (rap [rhythm and poetry] = hip hop). Definitely the under dog on this forum. I was a big rock fan back in the day, but have since developed more than a passion for hip-hop (obviously still love the rock music I've always loved). I don't really like any new rock though. I find it's more alternative rock these days..which is fine, but a lot of it sounds the same to me.
If you know what to look for in terms of hip-hop (Most people who say anything about 'mainstream' or shit on hip-hop music just have no idea what to look for...the word is...naive), you'll find it is definitely not going anywhere. Hopefully all that shitty crunk southern bullshit (which is NOT hip-hop/rap) will die out though. Nas (already working on his next album) and Jay are still kicking at full strength...Em and Jada are coming with new records next year...it's only growing stronger (not to mention the underground artists that are rising)...and hopefully more true hip-hop artists can join the race rather than those talentless gimmick shitheads.
I prefer rock, 70s rock. man its awesome.
