What I did was instead of chopping the whole growth node off and allowing the secondary branches to create the 2 top colas, I figured that by cutting it completely off, it would take at least another 1-2 weeks to catch up to its natural growing state as it were before i topped it.
So i got my fingernail cutting scissors and separated all of the newly forming leaves and branches at the growth node so that i could CLEARLY see each individual branch/leaf. Then i cut off the most newly formed growth at the top.
This allowed the plant to continue growing as quickly as it did before...It did not slow the growth down and did not cause any stress what so ever.
