Slipknot's argument sounds like the "you never touch a woman's feet" kind of argument. He had no reason to hit her like that but a woman should know not to intimidate a tall large pissed off man, that's common sense.

I think he was just referring to the tone of your guys-should-never-hit-a-woman message as perhaps an arbitrary gender-based rule in protection of women just like, say, his example of "guys should never touch a woman's feet" or this one of "a woman should never mess up a guy's hair." That sorta thing, Slip. He didn't have a problem with what you said.
I wish situations like that never happened. That big guy should never have punched her, but she at the same time shouldn't have egged him on like that, especially knowing the potential risk. My guess is that's not the first time that's occurred between those two. I hate physical violence that goes either way like that. Guess I've volunteered too long in a women's shelter/crisis center. It's a two-way street. Both genders can be abusive, but at the same time, both genders can also be the provocateurs, and all domestic partners with even half a brain know how not to push those buttons (and sometimes still choose to do that anyway). That's part of the dysfunctional dance that goes on when the anger starts spinning out of control like that.
For me, I know if it ever got physical between my husband and me, I'd be the bad loser. He outweighs me by 130 pounds and is half a foot taller. We've had our hottest differences worked out for a long time now, but when things do get to the point where we're about to say something we'll regret later, we just agree to go to neutral corners and talk about it later when we're cooler. We both let off a lot of stress and steam through exercise anyway, which helps us tend to be more chill with each other in the first place.
o.0 rebgirl lol.... a guy shouldn't hit a woman yes... but a woman shouldn't be able to stick up in the guys ass following him everywhere continually nagging him, and as has happened to me alot before, be able to slap pinch kick and hit the guy, when the guy just wants to walk the hell away...
my WIFE used to have this nasty habbit of following me when i needed to get away to cool down... o.0 and i've seen countless other women do it to friends as well.. even taking it further and basicly beating the shit outta the dude... and all he wanted was to get away... i have hit a woman, i won't deny it, and i regret it everytiem ithink about it... but i never would do it with a closed fist, and it was never as hard as i possibly could..
just enough to let the woman know i'm in no mood to put up with all the shit atm and to just go away and leave me alone, that was also after i had been followed everywhere, poked, pinched, and had the living shit bugged outta me.... o.0 for some reason lol, alot of women i've been around seem to think when the guy is pissed off is a good time to irritate him even further...
i end up just taking alot of crap... restraining myself, but sometimes, i just can't hold back anymore.. after warning after warning after warning... usually starts off with them like touching me (irritating touching, not i'm sorry.... but 'poke' like in the ribs or something like that...) and me moving their hand, to a few touches later, squeezing their hand and moving it, til quite a few times later to squeezing their hand and flinging it, well you get the picture...
i do try to do everything in my power to not let it get to that.. but you can only do so much... i don't have a car or liscense so i can't just drive off... anywhere i can go, she can go too...
Wow, so this whole thing was over someone putting their shoes on in the house? Now that is some stupid shit to argue over and get mad about.
They obviously hate one another to flip like that, and if I had someone like that, see yeah!
Some nagging I can deal with, but if it was a daily thing, I wouldn't be with a women like that anyways. The dude hitting his women because she was calling him names is out of line in my opinion. A women can call me all the names she wants. I'll laugh in her face and leave for good.
That's all he had to do was leave, but he chose to hit her instead.
Now, if the girl had slapped him first, then yes, he has that right to plead self defense and defend himself. I don't mean beating her to a pulp, but if someone hit me out of anger, I would return that favour.
