fishing is fun... i only do river and lake fishing... and commercial fishing on a river(the government gave my tribe commercial fishing rights in a treaty) mostly just salmon and trout... one or 2 bass... but i reeled in a king salmon about 4 feet long... over the summer... i almost pulled out a shot gun to kill the thing so i could real it back in... needless to say... i was done fishing for that day... parts of the fish are still in my dads freezer i think....
ok... im not meaning to make you mad or anything... salmon are just a cannabis plant..(cannabis has many different strains) there are many different types of salmon... and i hate when some one says... lots of salmon, and steel heads to...because steel-heads are a salmon...Quote:

What exactly is a Steelhead...is it a Salmon or a Trout?
Steelhead is a sea-run (anadromous) Trout that, unlike the Pacific Salmon, has the ability to return to spawn numerous times, although repeat spawning rates are fairly low. Steelhead are of either the Winter or Summer Run variety.

Sounds to me like you told me they were the same.
i could care less if you hate when someone calls two different fish by their true name.
thats like growing some big bud, northern lights...etc but saying eh its all just weed.
what your tribe doesnt have a casino so you have to commercial fish? :S4:
Fishing? Oh F Yeah! Growing up in Houston, I had the best of both worlds...fresh and saltwater. My dad had a 21' Sportcraft with 160hp Mercruiser in/out. Loved going 30+ miles out in the Gulf and catching King, Ling (Cobia), Red Snapper, Mahi Mahi, and Amberjack.
As I got older, what I really enjoyed was wade fishing around San Louis Pass or driving down the beach at Bolivar looking for seagulls feeding or skitish baitfish. Fishing for Speckled Trout, Flounder, and Reds. I would have the truck packed-up the night before. Have the coffee set for 10 minutes before the alarm clock so it would be ready when I woke up. Fill up one of those huge insulated coffee mugs and hit the road. It was about a 1 hour drive from Houston and I would have the Rock blaring loud, puffing on a fatty rolling down the road at 4:00 A.M. Wade out into the water just as the sun was rising....nothing like it!
Now I live on a lake. The drive to the Gulf is about 2 1/2 hours now so I don't get to go as often as I would like. The plus is that I can walk outside and fish here anytime I get "the itch".
Any like-minded Texans between here and the coast that would like to plan a trip, get with me. I know how it is to go fishing with someone that needs constant attention (which is okay I guess...I don't mind teaching someone that REALLY want's to learn), but trust me....I am not that person. No babysitting required here....I DO know the sport.
Holla!
Those early morning trips are awesome. We would leave Naples at 3am, get to the tea table bridge right as sun was coming up with some live shrimp, crabs, or some poppers and absolutely hammer the baby tarpon and sometimes mommy would join in but we'd never get her in on 10lb tackle.
i like fishing too although the only things ive caught are eels and a small rainbow trout. they all tasted damn good though. ive taken up beachcasting now and the way i see it is that even if i catch sod all i've at least had a nice day out at the beach. i dont have any time for sport fishing myself, i want to eat what i catch and throw the stuff i dont want to eat back alive.
going out and throwing rocks at little boys riding bikes
where do you live? out there by the trinity river and shit or what? cuz i don't know of any other place there is a lake (and the lake over near there is manmade..)Quote:

Slipknot, I live on Lake Livingston. And I don't know why we couldn't get together for a trip. I would have to pass through Houston to get to Galveston. Even driving into Boliver from the East is pretty hassel-free for me.
If my calculations are correct, you would probably want to get with me around mid June anyway. I just had some LedaUno, Mandalla #1, and Sweet Sative Special break through the soil in the last couple of days ;)
