Hey there, I just thought I would mention that the "pull-out" method which you just described (having sex than pulling out before you come) can still get the girl pregnant. Pre-cum often has sperm in it, so if you were turned on while having sex with her (and im sure you were) there's a chance she could get pregnant. So be careful!!!!!

And yes, I do seem to be a NuvaRing spokesperson don't I! I am just a very loyal customer, what can I say. If it weren't for the simplicity and high effectiveness it brings to the table, I wouldn't be as impressed with it. It doesn't make my period any pleasenter (more info than you all probably wanted to know, sorry lol), but everyone's different so it may work better for others.

If you want to be extra-safe regarding pregnancy prevention, use a different second birth control method. Contraceptive sponges & spermicides are both available without a prescription.

But the best advice was to both get tested first, else keep using the condoms. While it may feel incredible to come without a condom, I'm sure STDs do not feel great... And some are forever. And some are deadly. It just isn't worth the chance.

I'm guessing you are young and don't live together. I would adivise against unprotected sex. It is one thing when you live with the person and know she is taking the pill on time every night. I wouldn't trust a teenage girl to take it everynight at the same time.

Not to mention I saw a thing on the news about how they have lowered the potency of the drugs and so when girls do skip a day, the pill is much more likely not to work.

This is actually true. The new pills have a much lower amount of hormones. It makes the side-effects less common, but you really need to take them at the same time every day now.

I agree entirely with the first part as well. If I dont remind the girlfriend to take her pill, she would probably forget a couple times a week.
