I never smoke while I'm driving, because that's just asking for trouble, especially if you drive a stick like I do. I'll just pull over on some quiet residential street and hit the bubbler; if you drive with your windows down for a few minutes after, there's really not much of a lingering smell.
I smoke in my van, but it's your choice if you wanna smoke in your car, weigh out the pros and cons.. one has to win. Either smoke or dont smoke.
And you can always pull over and smoke it. Just make sure you dont get pulled over with a blunt with your car filled with smoke.
I think you are being smart and looking at this the right way. You dont want to have your life totally ruined by a dui or whatever lame charge they want to hit you with for smoking while driving. Also its a good idea to find out what exactly are the laws for your particular state. Go check out www.norml.com If you click on legal issues that will bring you to a page that has state by state laws on marijuana. (its on the left hand side)
Have a plan for what you are or are not going to do and stick to it and you will be fine. I hope that link helps!
It's okay to tell your buddies to not bring shit or smoke in your car. It's YOUR car, YOU'RE driving them around and doing THEM a favor. If that pisses you off then they can go fuck themselves I think.
I always smoke in my truck. Always. Anytime I'm driving somewhere, it's enough time to smoke a couple one-hitters. Usually the fake cigarette ones, so it's nearly impossible to tell apart from a real cigarette on the road.
Basically anytime I'm in a car, I smoke. Me and my buddies take roadtrips to concerts a lot, and some are longer trips, and my lord I don't know where I'd be if we didn't smoke the whole way.
I just like how it feels I guess . . on the road, music blaring . . it's a sort of freedom. A lot of the time, you get lost in the music and that in itself is worth smoking everytime.
I have gotten pulled over a couple times, both while really high, and they officers never did anything. I was speeding both times, and they just did their thing while I was a polite and very torched boy. I was fairly nervous though.
But if I were you, I'd get really comfortable at driving, and smoking, no less, before you get high and "fly." Driving is almost second nature to me, so I never found it too hard to smoke and drive somewhere. But a lot of people, in here as well, have said how driving while high is no fun and hard to function, so find out for yourself first and formost. ~
I've been smokin and driving for years, but always paranoid and that has kept me outta trouble. That fear of getting busted and your life pulled out from under you is survival man. Keep that healthy dose of fear and respect for fear and do what is right for you. Good advice above too.
First time I drove stoned though, I turned into oncoming traffic. I've never been in an accident or had a ticket after 17 years of smoking and driving, but everybody is different. I don't fit into the stereotypical looking stoner and we all know that the police are looking for teens, 20 somethings and african-americans (at least in usa). So if you don't fit into the profile, your chances of fucktopia are smaller.
You, being a teen, hmmmm....probably should wait.
Maybe smokin with the windows down or burnin' a inscent would make me feel better about smokin in the car but if the cop can tell I've been smokin' weed just from the smell of the car I'd probably stop until the smell went away :p. I'm too paranoid to smoke in a car and leave the scent in there. But trust me, smokin in a car and intentionally trying to get the smell out works..I know because my mom does it all the time lol.
If I drove, I probably wouldn't toke and drive at the same time. It's just not worth it getting a ticket or small charge for it. If I was at a buddies places, and I toked, I'd still drive home, but not right after. I'd give myself an hour or two before going for a drive.
I admit though, I used to toke with people who drove all the time. It was okay, but I'd rather just wait until I was in a safer place or out of the car. I always seemd to burn small holes in my hoodies puffing in cars. The windows would be down and a hot ash from a joint would land on me. :p Most of the time I wouldn't even notice until I got home.
I get that when im driving along smoking hash... fucking stays alight, one landed on my shoulder and burnt right though my tee shirt without me knowing, and it melted a tiny semi circle in the seat belt where it had landed.Quote:
