Yep, I lived in Florida for a while, and the few times it landed back in Florida I was not expecting the booms. They're fucking LOUD aren't they?

I'm not sure if they landed it in Texas or California, or some other place this time, but nonetheless, you will only hear the booms if you are close enough to it as it decelerates. The boom happens when the craft decelerates below the speed of sound (1111-1136 feet per second)

I get out and look at the back of the car and I see no damage as she starts walking away. I started screaming. I was like "HEY HEY GET BACK HERE YOURE NOT GETTING AWAY" She said excuse me? I called her on hitting the car and she said she didn't. I just stood there with a stupid grin on my face as she walked away in disgust. I found out later that it was the sonic boom from the shuttle since I live so close to the base. Loud as hell.
