Is this a dumb Idea or am I on to something?

Just a few points on what has been said (thanks for all the input so far!)

I don't think that the vapor/smoke would have to pass through the oil very long since the thc is being released from the ingition/vaporizing (burning). You have to simmer the cannabis in oil for a long time to release the thc since it is not being combusted. With this method the thc is already out and active from the cannabis and just needs to be collected by adhereing to the oil.

Also as far as running the vapor through an "oil filled" chamber is not too tricky at all, some vaporizers even come set up that way so the the vapor can be filtered through a water chamber for extra filtering and cooling such as the Aromed vaporizer. You just need to take a whip style vaporizer remove the hose from the whip and attach a new hose that goes into a water chamber then connect the rest of the whip that you inhale from into the output part of the water chamber.

I really like midlifecrisis idea but would not be sure about trying it myself for the first time as it sounds like you would not want to mess up with neutralization etc. Also I am interested on how you would ingest it once it is made.

i had that idea a long time ago search oil in bong . its a waste its gonna ruin ur bong and vegetable oil tastes like shit

i tried the organic peanutbuttber on crackers with ground up wee in middle like .5 per cracker put on like 375 in oven for 20 min then eat prob dosnt tastw to good but i tried it and gives u a nice buzz (good for b4 u goto bed)

i got the best idea tho. smoke a blunt. problem sovled.

theavidone- i thought of the same exact idea.. the vaporizer idea is new to me tho, its much more cleaner than smoking it because with the thc comes the impurities from when smoking it..

i read something about using lighter fluid butane to extract it the thc, like putting an oz inside a concealed bowl with a hole at the bottom and filling it with butane, which would somehow cause a rich thc-holding liquid would leak out of the bowl..

Extracting THC is easy. You just soak the cannabis in an Alcohol solution, then heat it up to eveaporate the chemical. What you'll be left with is a potent oil.

It's not that hard as it's easiest just to do it outside to be safe.

This method would not be good. One pass of a bowl load through some oil wouldn't be enough to capture the THC. The oil and cannabis need to be heated up together and simmered for at least 30 minutes.

Just smoke it, or make oil the real way.
