If they're crawling in and out of the soil they are probably not spider mites. The mites live, breed and die on your leaves. Could be fungus gnat larvae. Do you have little black flying bugs, as well?

Yea....sounds like thirps. Mites are real small....thirps are long and fast, I got em they suck. After my soil grow finishes im going to bug bomb the whole room before getting started on the next.Quote:

Put some construction sand down on the top of the soil it will kill the babies as they emerge through the soil and there are a few chioces for spray. You have to look at how long you have till it breaks down. Neem oil is good I hear there is more aggressive and more passive methods also
