Yes, that's what militants do. But their religion is only a rallying cry. If you've been bombed, raped, murdered, ripped-off, starved, bullied, lied to, disenfranchised and betrayed countless times, and your religious books have references about rising up against the infidels, it's a pretty easy bandwagon to jump on.
