Bring your sugars up to temp slowly.... you will see the sugar crystals will disolve....and it will start to Boil.....then your egg will bring temp down.....and then pecans........so good. Good luck.

The salad I still needed to make is called lime congealed salad--lime Jello, pecans, pineapple and cream cheese, and I hope it has long enough to set before we leave in the morning, but it should be fine. And I also made cole slaw, which is a strange Thanksgiving dish, I know, but I always make it and everyone loves it. So I'm contributing green foods this year. . . .

This is the only drawback to our not having Thanksgiving here at our house this year. If dinner were here tomorrow, I could go down to the kitchen now and nip a little dressing . . . maybe some ham, too. All the real food's 75 miles away at my aunt's house!
