Historically, every race, creed, color, religion, and gender has suffered. It just doesn't all happen in the same place at the same time.

But whatever happened in the past was not done by me, and it was not suffered by you. There's nothing that can be done to change the past, and it's a waste of time to dwell on it. All we can, and should, be doing is looking at the world the way it is today and the direction it is moving into the future.

All I can say is ..we live thru many years of cramps, labor and other bodily pain, we might as well have to live thru a bit of emotional frustration

Exactly!! I get plenty of "attention"...but it's not something I asked for. Not to say I don't take advantage of it sometimes :p

It's better to be looked over than overlooked.

I think it depneds on the person.

i am the single, white male (and i'm middle-aged at that):

i'm neither rich nor poor, so i can't afford an attorney and i can't get free legal aid. there is no 12-step program for me, even though i spend my entire life in a state of zen rage. there is no government agency to look after my welfare, even though i'm considered a borderline sociopath. i'm easily denigrated, make all the jokes you want to at my expense and no one will care. my hair is long, so the conservatives hate me. my beard is grey, so i'm considered anachronistic. on and on, etc. etc. etc...

and to cap it all off

I think i understand what youre saying. That although women get more attention they aren't respected as much as men when it comes to important things. And thats true. Traditionally men have handled the important matters in life. Its just a stereotype that men are better at handling certain situations. Or maybe its a visual thing. Are you short for example? Im not trying to be mean at all im just saying that maybe men are respected more because they are taller and therefore seem tougher and more able to do things. Although thats not saying thats true at all.

Sounds to me like that was a sexist doctor who didn't respect a female patient's request and clearly has two different standards for responding to patients of each gender.

I hope you're looking for another physician. I would be! And I'd make sure and tell his office to tell him why I was tranferring my care, too, when I requested they forward my records to a new doc. Actually, me being me, I'd put that in writing so he'd have it for his files.
