Stupid question i know but i have to ask...
If you are a traveling family I consider you just dish out some extra change and go with the hydroponic method of growing marijuana. If you don't really go away from your home regularly for a long time then never mind about that idea. As for your plants I dunno what you can do other than forget about this grow and do it when you come back or get some one that you absolutely trust to look after your plants.

The thing about Hydro is when something goes wrong, it can be catasrophic in a matter of hours. You really have to monitor a hydro grow, or so I've been told. :D
:smokin:
btw, the wick idea is brilliant!

Yeah but also Hydro was also developed with the traveling people in line. Only if you didn't know what you were doing in the first place or end up being gone too long will Hydro operations end up going wrong. 2 week's is enough time to leave it at work, at least I believe so :p.

ya...for bigger plants i heard of people putting 5 or 6 jars around the the entirepot,
and keep the jar elevated above the plant and let gravity takes its course,

Could be, I don't know? You def need to know wht you're doing, though. I've been told that it takes a good while to get accustomed to hydro growing, too. Besides, I like soil much better. It's easier, and the bud is usually much tastier. The hydro will give a better yield if you know what you're doing, but I truly enjoy the taste of good soil grown bud. (Organic of course)
Much Love,

Hydro does sound attractive but cost is not the thing, i just wanted to grow the way nature intended and to know that if it does go well i know it`s down to me and me alone, yes this is an indoor grow and i am using artificial light and will bee fooling my plant into day and night conditions but thats it i guess, i will try for the jar and rag/ shoelaces method it does sound vey possible.
Keep the thoughts going though guys this is really interesting to me.
Peace.
P.s. I`ve just scored me some bud so i`m well happy.

With outside plants, you can take gallon milk jugs and poke tiny holes in them.Bury your pots below soil level.Hang jug over or modify.I part and gravity. You want your water ph'd to 6.2. Too much off this mark makes plants not absorb micronutrients.Don't mess with hydro unless you know what your doing. The shoelace method is your intrduction to hydroponics.Pouring nutrient rich water into potting soil medium is hydroponics. If your plants are that young, they should be in a sterile or very low ppm nutrients. They have all they need for the first 2 weeks.Do not ferilize. You'll burn em up.The most common mistake with young plants is overwatering. They want a wet, dry cycle to make roots spread.
The pic is one whiterhino x skunk #1,at 40 days aeroponic, in a tub I built for $50.This is advanced hydro. This is the only hydro I ever done. You have to live with it though. The tub will hold 6 plants. You flip the light after 5 days. This is a 45 day system with the right plants.Advanced Nutrients is the top of the line.I flowered this plant for 90 days. This is legal medical.
