well i really have found from my own expirments that holding 3 big hits in for 15 seconds each is alotttttt more powerfuill than 3 big hits only held in for 5 seconds each

5-7 isn't what i would call a "long time" .. 10 seconds? 15? yea.. that's getting a bit excessive.
If its a bong i take a monster hit and hold it in untill i cough and then the smoke escapes that way.
but a joint i take a hit do a ghost inhale for like 5 secs then exhale.

While the link you gave me was very interesting, I would like to see some citations of studies (maybe pubmed?) where scientific tests were done and measurements given.
I'm sure holding anything in your lungs for a long time is bad for you but do you really get the majority of your high from the first 3 - 7 secs? I would just like to see specifically the study, citation, or even an abstract of the study that shows that HUMAN lungs absorb 95% or more of THC within 3 - 7 secs.
To me, anything above 5 seconds is a waste of time. My friend tried to b/s me. This is an exact quote. I am not making this up, he said this to me on the way back. "You should hold it in. well i'm not going to go hunt around for scientific studies on it although i'm sure they're out there.
but.. like memory says.. and norml warns.. holding the smoke in for to long can cause more damage to your lungs than really needed.
Well when i first started I just tried holding the stuff in as long as I could. L ike 30 seconds or more. So long that when i exhaled no smoke would come out.
Then later when i burped or something it would all come out.
I think they call is ghosting a hit.
