I think your friend may have exaggerated a lil. People like to make certain things seem easier than they are sometimes. They might have heard of cloning, and how you cut off a branch and plant that, and thought "hmm, i guess you can just plant a leaf then".
So yeah, you can't plant a LEAF. You can clone a cutting though.

I havnt read the whole thing, but if your going to clone, the most important thing is make sure you cloning a female, not a male. Females are the sex that produces bud, males are useless, unless you want seeds. You can make hash form males, but you get so little theres no real point to it.
