I haven't tried any, just read that it is indeed an opiate, but much safer than poppy-based opiates. I'd say it's worth a try.

Two words.
Second Opinion.
You're in a lot of pain...and you're in Canada.. take advantage of the health care system that is there for you.. and go see another doctor about your pain.
Don't get this stuff off the street or online.. as many of us will know that it is impossible to tell where any of that stuff comes from and could very well be something that it's not.
I wish you luck in your medical problems.. but also remind you that this kind of talk about other psychotropics and opiates is not really welcome here...so the only reason it is allowed to stay is for your specfic medicinal information. Any posts to do with the recreational uses of things of this nature will be removed.
Cheers,
Bob.

I popped a few oxycodene (like oxycotin) last night and I can understand how you want them but they're too addicting I think to be used as just everyday painkillers.

sorry bobong, I didn't realize psychotropic substance discussion was disallowed in a medical context. But thanks for letting it stay open. And for the record, I'm not at all talking about using substances for recreation or fun, I just genuinly want some real pain relief. I just had 4 ibeprophen (which seem to work now, so I guess I jumped to conclusions from a couple bad experiences with that), plus 3 tramacet and it's just managable enough now. I think that constitutes oxycontin being viewed in this situation as a strictly medical-use drug, though I'll definately cut out the heroin talk (which, now that I think of it, I'm just not going to fall into)

I agree, but I have to be removed as my doctors patient to get a new one, I hope they let you do that on our free medical system (free for doctors visits anyway).
anyway, thanks to everybody for the advice, and any other painkillers you know of are always whelcome. I've actually read up on Kratom lettuce a good deal, but it seems the erowid experience reports indicate that it doesn't work over half the time.

Codiene's only half as powerfull as Tramadol actually. But whatever, my doc just got me on this stuff called "nortryptaline" that's supposed to significantly raise my pain threshhold by "dulling" the pain centres in my brain. So I'll see how that goes, takes a couple weeks before it starts to work significantly.

How about using a 'TENS' machine I had one for a while when I had a back problem and it did actually help - combine that with whatever meds thay are giving you and it might take the edge off.

I have on actually. Ever heard of a "Dr.Ho"? I've used it, but it doesn't help a lot these days since the pain is all over the place.
Unrelated, but why the depressed mood Mr.Staypuffed?
