The bic pen idea works pretty well, usually I just make a bowl for it out of tin foil, although that leaks alot. Seal it with gum, and keep the hole above the wate level.

As for the paff mami thing, it looks decent, but $45!? What the fuck!?
Get an inch of 0.5" PVC pipe, a 0.5" PVC elbow, and another few inches of 0.5" PVC. Put the both pipes into the elbow, and drill a small hole from the top of the elbow to the end of the short piece. Stick a thin pipe with a bowl on top in there, and you've got a Paff Mami clone.
