Also doing a CFL grow won't show up on your power bill, no suspicious meter readers. They say if you have a 3 bed room house that you can run 3 1000w HID systems without suspision but I find that a little hard to believe. Also a judge can't issue a search warrant just on the basis of a spike in power bill. ;)
This is our first grow too. My husband was paranoid too. Even though he is legal now (he has a calif med. marijuana card) he is still paranoid. He's not paranoid about being busted but about neighbors finding out. You always worry about being robbed or what not. But before he was legal, we made sure to take the appropriate securities. Luckily we have about three or more hydroshops in the area. We bought all our supplies at the hydro shop IN CASH. The rest of our supplies at a local hardware store - also IN CASH. If you don't have a local hydro store, then take a road trip. When we purchased seeds online - I paid by a prepaid credit card in which I used an alias that was close to my name (example Katy Hensen - Kathy Harrison) Then I had it sent to my mom's house in which she sent it to me. I just told her there was a mistake with the credit card company and they fudged my name and sent it to my old address. I couldn't tell her the real reason because YOU DON"T TELL ANYONE - NOT EVER about anything related to your grow. The seeds came to her house too. I just told her I bought some coins off ebay from someplace in the Netherlands and they sent it to the address that was on file with the credit card (which was her address). I can't believe how expensive it was to grow three plants. I was told that it costs approx. $100 per square foot of space. I thought they were pulling my leg. They were right. In my small closet, we've spent over $1000. I love this site because if ever need advice about growing, you can get the info here and not worry about being "found out" Its not like you can go to your local nursery and ask them why your marijuana plant has burned tips or why the bottom leaves are yellowing.
good point stinkybudd, cant believe I forgot about the paying in cash. DUH! Never get cannabis related items sent to your grow show.
