So do you just leave it hanging in your grow space and let it run? It takes the frangrance from the air surrounding the plant and absorbs it odors that way?
Where is the best place to position the filter? I have a similar growspace and a few small fans.
Hey this is c of greens wife. As to your question KNVB yes hes just got a hook on the top of the cabnet that the fan and filter itself are hanging from right above the plants right next to the lights. And so far we have not walked into the house and had a problem with it smelling :-) And there is only 1 fan in that area connected to the filter. At night he's been leaving the door open with another small clip on fan. But the one that he has now works great!:thumbsup:Quote:

sweet stuff. my buddies just built an inline carbon filter for their setup. Its 4" ducting and an inline 180cfm fan pulling air out of a 3x4 room that has a 1000watt. It is essentially just some 4" duct adaptors slid together and taped, filled with activated carbon from an aquarium shop, and capped on both ends by some duct filters. They are only 2 weeks into budding so the smell isnt very strong yet, but already it makes a considerable difference. It can be easily refilled as well.
Well he put a new light in the cabnet and it melted the old one. But we fixed a new one out of a cottage cheese bowl. poked holes all around, cut a small hole out the bottom, put a dryersheet over it, put an aluminum can with holes punched in that as well and charcol all around it and taped up. The filter is working wonderfully. No smell and the plants appriciate it as well I would say. :thumbsup: any questions just ask em.
well,this post is getting pretty old but i ran into it so i figured i would let you all know that i made a how to in basic growing,should have put it in here but.................:stoned: it is only titled with a ?(oops,should have named it better but i was in a hurry)check it out.
but anyway it worked well,though it wasn't quite powerful enough to kill all the scent of some of my outdoor harvest.....of course it wasn't very close to it.it is doing a great job with the indoor harvest though because it is right next to them:thumbsup:
Take a few more pics and explain this a little better for me? I need a carbon filter badly. My plants are starting to REEK oh so wonderfully.
Wow that thing really works? I might have to try that and see how far I can get with it :p.
ya c of green, you should post some pics and desribe the process of making it again, i cant seem to figure out zandors, he needs pics in my opinion, ive tried it twice and cant get his figured out...
