Air is a better insulator than Iron... that gaps in the levels as well and the space absorbs heat, bringing the total temperature down... so, no, you were better with the soild peice of metal... but you won't even take a bone when it's thrown your way...

By The Way ... have you ever seen a 110 story building?? Try burning that nice can of yours... then imagine a place where 1,000,000,000 could fit into falling to the ground in 10 seconds. Not colliding with each other to slow them down, or dodging the other floors/desks/computers/stairs/people... cause they all have to fall within 10 seconds... oh yeah, only 5% of them are on fire at the time...
