The most important thing to remember when smoking weed is it cannot possibly kill you. Too many people get all paranoid and scared/anxious and keep thinking their gunna die... when in reality cannabis is the safest mind altering "drug" [I dont think its a drug, its a plant] known to man.
It's impossible to OD on, so at least you know that WHATEVER happens your safe.

Smoke it, you can do it. It'll make everything alright :smokin:. And if you take it slow, no, you will not get nausea. I read some where that marijuana was suppose to cure nausea. I think it does that for me because I can eat a whole lot without getting sick or feeling like I am gonna throw up. But when I'm sober and eat a whole lot eventually I feel like I'm just gonna throw it all up.

Do you think that maybe it would be better if i ate it within something, i.e. cake, so that i don't have to deal with the smoke factor for the first time?

If you eat marijuana when you heat it you will not be burning it like if you smoked it so you wont be destroying ANY THC, therefore when it's inside you, you will be getting the high full-force. If you eat marijuana for the first time you get high it might destroy your perception of what marijuana really is and what it can do for you :p. Eating marijuana is way more intense than smoking a little joint also it takes longer to get you high if you already ate something so you might keep eating weed brownies or w/e you bake it as thinking nothing is happening. If I were you for the first time, I'd get some skunk and just take 3 lil' puffs and see how you like. And if you really like it smoke like 2 joints :D.

Maddy, not sure how old you are but Birdgirl73 had the best advice for you..it was hidden but it would be best to follow her example and not smoke till you are out of school and college age. (I say this because your post sounds like you are underage) I mean no offense to anyone in HS smoking, hell i did it.
I would suggest you find out what could possibly happen to your and/or your family if you get caught. Like most have said...you will not take a hit and want to kill your neighbors dog (well, doubtful). You will not take a hit and go brain dead. You will not take a hit and grow hair on your cheast and knuckles.
Although what could happen is you will like it so much that it becomes a priority as something you want to do everyday. Most smoke you will get has been grown to be a strong indica mix which means it mellows you out. This can effect you in sports, studies and relationships adversely. Your spelling and thought pattern seems mature. The fact you came to get advice in commendable.
campell also hit it square on the head. NEVER try smoke because of peer pressure! If people are pressuring you...take a look at what type of grades they are getting, how the socialize with all other students as awhole, and what type of trouble they might be getting into. Since cannabis is illegal if you get caught it will be part of your record. I do not know the penalities in England...do you?
Trust yourself.....if you do not think you are ready...then wait! Seriously..wait! I never thought differently of any friend that did not smoke. I thought it was cool that they decided not too. Stoners normally hang with stoners. This could isolate you from a lot of people that do not smoke that could be wonderful friends for the rest of your life!
Good Luck with whatever you decide to do....but I suggest you use Birdgirl73 as a mentor and wait. Just my two cents. I might get flamed for this, but you came for advice in a public forum and need all the information you can get to make an educated choice.

He's not lying about that, just look at my profile aura. Almost everything about me is cannabis related.First I tried because of peer pressure and curiosity like "what is the big deal, why is it such a big fad or why does everyone like it so much?". It grew from curiosity and following people into a personal hobby and a way of life. It's not something that I exactly like but everytime I tell my self I'm gonna quit permanently or focus on something else I come right back to cannabis so I eventually just gave into the life style of ganja :). It just fascinates me. I mean, a herbal with chemicals that gets me high and for some reason less harmful than all of these other intoxicants, mellows me out, makes me more open, happy and aware of life and grows and spreads like rumors, never to leave the earth. I love it and it's my #1 priority. But I still have to do other things like do well in school and stay focused on reality because I realize that if I dont do good I'll be a bum and I'll be stuck buying marijuana all my life and never have my own supply of homegrown. Lol, wait..I just got totally off subject xD.

As well-intentioned as I'm sure Oblio's advice was about following my unintentional example of waiting to smoke till I was out of high school, I truly think everyone has to follow his/her own heart. I'm certainly not intending or wanting to be a mentor to anyone other than my own son. Heck, that only works about a quarter of the time anyway since he already knows all there is to know in life!
The truth is I waited till I was out of high school and into college to smoke because college was when I was first introduced to it, not because of any conscious choice to wait. I might well have smoked earlier if the opportunity had presented itself. My instinct tells me that under ideal circumstances, 17 or 18 is probably about the right time for most people to try weed. But my time here has also made me believe there are younger people who try it and can use responsibly, too. I see this in the way they relate moderate use and also in the way they interact with other board members courteously and maturely.
All this is a long way of saying, Maddy, that you need to make this decision on your own. If you're scholarly and conscious about grades, and if you worry that this may affect your intellect, memory or motivation, that'd be a consideration toward waiting. If you believe you're able to try it and, if you like it, use it moderately and in a way that doesn't interfere with your life, that'd be a consideration toward taking your first toke. If you're a bit of a risk-taker and your gut tells you this is likely to be the first step on a long line of experimentation with various psychoactive substances, some of which might potentially get out of control, that to me would be something to hesitate about.
One big consideration that a lot of youngsters don't think about is whether or not you're ready to accept any negative consequences that may arise from marijuana use. If you got busted by your parents or, say, police, are you ready to accept that responsibility and deal with the falllout? If you go to a party and get high with friends and then, say, have a wreck while you're under the influence, would you be ready to deal with that? Or if you had sex with someone while you were high, would you be prepared to deal with those consequences? These aren't meant to scare you as much as be realistic questions about some of the things that can happen to youngsters who use weed or alcohol. Whatever you do, Maddy, I wish you the best of luck!

its completely understandable to be anxious. I was nervous my first time even though I knew there was nothing wrong with it. Youre about to finally be in a mental state youve never been in before and see what this being high thing is youve heard endlessly about.
To really explore life you gotta be able to suck it up and take the plunge once in a while.

very well put birdgirl73. I bet you are a level headed mom and lady. Why can't I find one like you around here?
Tempted to try smoking weed...
Thanks, Oblio. I have to work at the level-headed part. Most of the time I feel like a big clueless kid.
When you said, "around here," are you looking for a mom? Or a lady?
If it's the latter, just keep your eyes out. She'll turn up when the time is right. Look for someone who makes (or made) good grades, minds her manners, hasn't been promiscuous, and has steady parents. Don't make the choice based on surface stuff.
That certainly sounded like what a mom would say, didn't it??
