Yeah, I got some nieces and nephews around 4-7 years old and I never let them see any of my shit cuz they're pretty damn observant.

Even if they told on me I'd hope that my word (that of a 19 year old) weighs greater with them than that of a 6 year old and just say they were cigs or something.

Let's not be too hypocritical. You said "It's your life so take control of it," then in the very next sentence, you tell him that it's not his problem (which it is for smoking in front of someone else that he didn't know wasn't cool with it) and that it's his girlfriend's mom's problem.. where it isn't.. at all.

But anyways, not much that you can do except have your girlfriend talk to her niece about it.

I understand why what I said could be percieved as arrogant. However all I'm saying is that he shouldn't let it worry him so much . Nowhere did i say he should be disrespectful. By no means would I recommend that. But with that in mind he must realize it is in fact his life and respectfully put that across to his girlfriends mother. It's alot better than worrying about the situation and in the process avoiding the mother. Never the less its only a suggestion.

I may not have expressed myself clearly. What I was refering to when i stated that its not his problem was the fact that his girlfriends mother was presumably angry. All i was trying to get across is that he should stop worrying. I would go on further to state that if its worrying him so much he should in fact find a way to rectify the situation.
