Can anyone find me this quote???
I will continue to ignore you as much as is possible, believe me.
But again, I want you to actually use your brain here before you do anything else or post someone else's words or thoughts or respond. You posted the question looking for the quote on a public forum. That makes it anyone's business in in the forum to answer.
Can anyone find me this quote???
Never heard the quote ... but so far, every person posting in this thread needs to take a damn chill pill. Or toke.
Can anyone find me this quote???
Dr. Raphael Mechoulam, NORML, High Times and Omni magazines (September 1982) all indicate that if marijuana were legal it would immediately replace 10-20% of all pharmaceutical prescription medicines (based on research through 1976). And probably, Mechoulam estimates, 40-50% of all medicines, including patent medicines, could contain some extract from the cannabis plant when fully researched.

Source: Dr. Tod Mikuriya, _Marijuana Medical Papers_. "Marijuana could replace at least 10-20% of prescribed drugs now in use."
Source: Dr. Rahael Mechoulam. "Marijuana was a major active ingredient in 40-50% of patent medicines before its ban."

That line "When fully researched" changes things significantly and makes the complete quote suddenly plausible. And the through 1976 limit helps, too, because 30 years ago, we didn't have nearly the amount of drugs we have now. So potential replacement of 10 - 20% of the significantly smaller number of drugs in 1976 might have been accurate.
That's why I doubted the quote the way Beachguy originally worded it because there are now literally millions of medicines. And no one's yet exhaustively researched all the potential benefits of MJ. That's why it didn't make sense.
I'm going to go look up Dr. Raphael Mechoulam and try and write him about this if I can. I think I may be interested in doing/contributing to medical MJ research when I get further into my medical training. Does anyone know anything about him? Whether he's a researcher or publisher of other studies?
Thanks for finding the quote and making it make sense, P4B!
