its like if your at the store, i always thank after ive paid, just common curtesy really.

a small thankyou does alot more than you think (I sound like mom). But I notice for sure when im down to earth and polite with my dealer in a non-geeky way I start getting hooked up much better

I say thank you even if he gives me what I paid for. It's very respectable.

Especially if it's a kid who's trying to get into the game from scratch. You want to make them feel comfortable with you.
